The pagentry and excellence of this Corp seems to take away some of the pain after the loss of a loved one. I have attended 3 funerals at Arlington, & just to view the mastery & professionalism involving what they do, leaves you with peace of mind and heart, knowing that your love one is at peace and that their Service is honored and appreciated. Old Guard, Never think that what you do is not recognized & appreciated!! God Bless You & Yours.

My son is in The Old Guard and I am very proud of him. Maybe you don't know but they are active military and do get deployed. They have P.T. everyday and the same any stateside soldier does (maybe even more). As for the money, No price is to high to honor our fallen soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for freedom. I am proud of the members of The Old Guard. Never Falter! HOOAH!!!

It's money well spent as far as I know. Besides, they're based in Washington DC

(3rd Inf) and they already have all the ceremonial equipments and therefore there's really nothing to spend even if they perform a million ceremonies a year.

The Old Guard is doing the best to honor our fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives to give YOU your freedom that you just take for granted.. Their services in Arlington Cemetery is second to none.

And just for your information, the Old Guard is just not for ceremonial purposes. Their main function is to DEFEND Washington DC in time of crisis.
