I work at a bird store and we keep our African Greys in a variety of differently sized cages, one being exactly the type depicted in the video. All of our birds are very happy and healthy. It really does depend on the needs of the individual bird and how often they are being handled.
@Texassusiecue1 Of course they do, that's why they fly all over Western Africa, miles and miles per day, cos they need small spaces!!! That's lot of BS!!!! You are so ignorant! A bird needs space and lots of time outside the cage, to be healthy and happy!!!
I don't appreciate being called ignorant. Do some research. Of course they fly all over IN THE WILD. Being in captivity brings on a whole new set of rules regarding their comfort and well-being. Thank you, dear.
Obviously a very well loved and well-tended bird! The cages in other countries are smaller than what we're used to, but it's clear that this bird is not suffering at all and has a good large and appropriate play gym. His feathers are immaculate!
Back before all the luxurious big cages they have come up with today, this is all they used to have. I still have a few of the older Canadian made solid stainless steel parrot cages, that are actually better made than some of the newer ones. I am using one, and have the others packed aay as spares. He is obviously a very happy and healthy bird and definitely loved!

Why do you idoits think the cage is too small? They only need to hold it in there long enough to boil the water....

I LOVE it. What a smart bird. I think he's more talented than Snowball. He sings AND dances.

He deserves a normal sized cag, not a transport cage!!!!!!!! I love him....what a cuttie!

@EvgeniaZ Greys usually feel more secure in smaller cages as they have a tendency to be on the nervous side.

@EvgeniaZ And I agree that they do need time outside the cage, which has nothing to do with the size of their personal space.
