Sometimes I stop and think.. What an amazing world we live in now.. Within seconds I can hear what a legendary artist performed over 80 years ago.. Within seconds.. Recorded before my parents were born, when my grand parents were still young... This new possibility open to us the last century will change the world profoundly. Now you can see and hear the legends of old, not just be told stories about them.
people copy each other.......for the better. But nowadays, if someone is alive, give him his due, don't steal, pay him.. Fuck his kids though. Get a job!
David Lee Roth lifted note for note Louis Primas version right down to Sam Buteras sax solo and never mentioned the fact. He could have shown some class and acknowledged it and gave some credit. Too bad.
Louis Armstrong´s music is an highly gifted , endless rhapsody. With every tone, phrase of his trumpet or his voice he presents us a wonderful gift.
Thanks a lot Louis I saw you in concert three times. This dates are great moments of my life. Your records are eternal works of culture. Mr. Louis Armstrong is not dead he is immortal.
can one think to ever gaze out a window, and be lost in the simplicity of life and yet be aware of its significance like they did in those days? When I try to look out the window, I hear the Wii game my kids play, they 'jersilicious' crap show our 16 yr old girl watching and even my wonderful missus caught up with the game channel's new show 'baggage'. What ever happened to the innocent self reflecting act of a person just looking out the window and finding something important about hisself?
give your kids some damn culture! All is not lost, believe it or not children can be greatly influenced by their parents. Take them to see an awesome concert, encourage them to take music classes. How I wish my mom did that for me. If you have boys tell them that girls dig musicians and vice verse. I think that a girl that can play the guitar, piano, bass, anything is one hundreds times more attractive then any bimbo on mtv or in the magazines
@atomkfull Song is older than Louis Prima, it originated as an Austrian lament for the losses inflicted by World War 1. Lrn to musical history beaner.
@Kelnx Incorrect my friend. French isn't a real language, at least not a real human language, so I have to go to the closet thing, Spanish. Thus beaner. You sir, are fail.

Imagine a time machine - Louis and David Lee Roth doing this song. Man that would be worth seeing.
Oh - you do know he says "when the end comes I know they'll just play another jig I know" Gigolo is never said.
Call me a philistine - I prefer daves version. But hats off to the creator.
PeterHBne1 6 months ago
@PeterHBne1 He does say "gigolo" in the first line, but it is different on the last line as you pointed out
