OK here's the question!! Would you "delay" squaring an axe upon a tree? Would you "delay" squaring a tennis racket upon a tennis ball? Would you "delay" squaring up the bat on a 100mph fast ball? Would you "delay" squaring ah hockey stick up on the puck? So then why would you "DELAY" squaring up the club head to the Golf BALL?
Your pivot toward the target creates lag. Most golfers stop or slow their pivot / turn at the ball and the club head will pre-release due to centrifugal force. Lag can only be created by a forward motion.. stop or slow that motion (pivot) and you lose all lag and break your wrists.
MIKE AUSTIN IS GREAT TEACHES IN THE WORLF OF GOLF AND HE HIT THE GOLF BALL 515 YARD, DAN SHAUGER LEARN FROM THE BEST TEACHES AUSTIN . I HAD SEVERAL LESSONS FROM DAN AND NOW I HIT MY GOLF BALL STRAIGHT DOWN LINE NOW AND HE HELP WITH MY PUTTING TO DAN HAS 2 BOOK AND 27 DVD THANK TO DAN I PLAY A BETTER AROUND OF GOLF NOW GREAT TEACHES DAN IS
Your description suggests that I need to develop the ability to "SIT" and maintain an angle from the backswing to the hitting area.....but you are STANDING the whole time
most instructors say ridiculous things like keep your wrist cocked etc. - but to most average & even better golfers this really doesn't mean much. Your drill however teaches them to feel the club being pulled behind their lead arm and also how important it is to keep rotating the upper torso / shoulders.
And they don't have to buy some training aid or need to be on a course or range to practice this drill - very glad you posted your video.
this is a great tip, very well explained. too many try to say hold on until the moment of impact which is almost impossible as you said. great video thanks.
I found a product online called the Pro-Lag and it has helped me develop the Lag and gave me more distance. It was on Youtube from another PGA Pro.... I appreciate your input and help with the another way to get power....Thx
He's got a square driver.....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I would not listen to this guy. He does not even know which end of the club you're supposed to hit the ball with.
