  • i want a cute little rat like that one but i live with 5 cats o3o

  • Omg !! a baybi kangaroo !! so cuute <3

  • I love these rats I want one but cant. :/ but i have five fancy rats :)

  • Cricetomys emini aren' rats, rattus norvegicus(like mine) and rattus rattus are true rat.

    Btw, beautiful pet is Matisse

  • Awww how cute! How did you get this breed of rat? i have a normal hooded rat but i want and emins pouched rat!

  • uh-oh....you know what those peas are gonna do to you.....fart fart

  • Does this breed require bedding in their cage or can you let them roam in the house and train them to 'pads' or litterboxes?

  • I really love these and have been looking for one, for a long time!! Theyre nearly impossible to find!! Where did you get yours??

  • It's so sweet Ö

  • @redstaroogie Funny how a species from Africa that has never been in Europe except in the pet trade somehow killed a third of it's population. Especially since African pouched rats are currently saving people by smelling out tuberculosis in saliva samples in laboratories, with a higher success rate than medical science can, AND they're locating land mines in war-torn parts of Africa for people to dig up, faster than bomb technicians can (hours as opposed to weeks)

  • @pouchedrattie Nice! Still hate rats though, they invaded my house once when I lived in Norway. And they're ugly as hell. But that was quite intresting facts! I'm giving this one the thumbs up in the arena :)

  • @pouchedrattie don't feed the trolls. just pet your rattie for me!

  • @pouchedrattie HERO RAATS hero rats... duhduhduhduh hero rats! FIGHTING FOR MANKIND!!!

  • @pouchedrattie Lol, that guy got owned.

  • @redstaroogie you know nothing, =/ poor you

  • @DeepCosmo you know nada if you thing rats are everyting.

  • @redstaroogie It wasnt the rats look it up it was caused by fleas !!!!

  • @minimuffincakes The rats did carry the disiese but it could spread through fleas as well. Retard

  • @redstaroogie I would suggest you kill you infants, as they are more prone to spread disease than rats.

  • @redstaroogie It was rats that caused the plague it was flees. The flees lived on rats, blankets and people.

  • @redstaroogie They didn't mean it

  • @redstaroogie I agree with pouchedrattie but wish to add that if you want to be correct, not the rats killed people. The bacteria inside the fleas on the rat killed people. Don't know about these ones but regular rats make way better pets than hamsters or guinnea pigs. They're intelligent (no, really), they recognize you and they just don't bite at all, they're social and not afraid of humans. I dare you to try one for a pet and I bet you that you will reconsider your opinion.

  • @redstaroogie no that was the fleas carrying a disease on them. rats are beautiful and intelligent creatures.

  • @redstaroogie not rats killed the people, there parasides killed the people :D

  • @redstaroogie

Wasn't just rats that had the FLEAS that carried the plague.

  • @redstaroogie shows what you know. Fleas killed a third of europe. Not rats. there are no reports of thousands of rats biting anyone and transferring the plague. Not to mention the fact that during the 1600s that humanity was FILTHY. Bathing was considering a bad idea since it meant your could lose all of your health. so everyone basically had layers of dirt.

  • @ModdyDhoo when a man holds a gun, is it the gun or the man that kills? Same shit with rats and fleas Fact, rats spread deaseases, poison our food and looks god damn uggly, simple shit man

  • @redstaroogie Lol, are you really comparing a gun, that was made by a man for the sole purpose of knowingly killing others, to the fleas on a rat? How is that in any way similar? All animals get fleas. Is it the fault of the animals? No. It is simply nature. The fact that the disease introduced itself at a time when Our knowledge of medicine and hygiene was infantile is what killed all of those people. The rat didn't got "hell yeah, genocide!" make a pact with the fleas, and bring them to europe

  • @ModdyDhoo The rats have no clue that they spread deaseases on us. they just do. They always will. Becasuse they always live close to us. No mather who or what they're carring on their back. They make it posible for deaseases to reach human. We have sewers so if your so fashinated of them you can easly visit them you know, you dont have to travel far.

  • @redstaroogie Well according to what you said earlier with your gun analogy. The rats apparently DO know that they're spreading diseases. You're backtracking, Redstar. By the way, since you appear to know next to nothing about domesticated rats, Rattus Novergicus has been domesticated, in europe, for 100s of years. If I wanted to go meet a rat. I can go do this crazy thing. I can go to a rat rescue or a animal shelter, or a rat breeder and meet well tempered, friendly rats who are cleaner

  • @redstaroogie than most dogs and cats. The fancy rat, also known as the pet rat, carries less diseases than the average dog. Not to mention that you can train the rat to go in a litter box, to drink water with it's hands, and a number of other things.

  • @ModdyDhoo most likely you'll find them in the sewers where they poison our water so you should rather look there. Dogs don't live in garbage and human shit. a restaurant dont need to close down when a dog has entered, homeless or not, but rats carries all kind of shit, even your shit.

  • @redstaroogie Oh yeah, they poison the water all right. That's why america is such a waste land or disease and dysentery. Once again, you are stuck on the idea of a sewer rat. I am talking about domesticated rats. But i'm done.Having this conversation has lowered my IQ.

  • @ModdyDhoo Maybe a rat can help you get your IQ back

  • @redstaroogie funny, I was about to say the same thing to you.

  • @ModdyDhoo You're the one that lowered you IQ so, must be seriously low right now.

  • Its kinda cool looking i went to the store and got my brother a pet fancy rat for his birthday and HE LOVED HER she is hardly ever in the cage but she is gitting so old and she still comes to the dinner table and climbs up cloths to get some food everyone just adores her but she is allready almost 3 in ahalf....how long do these guys live?

  • @ya11and11what Sadly, maximum is usually 4 years. And not to be rude, but you should always buy rats in at least pairs, three is better. They're very social animals and can often get lonely and depressed if they don't have a cagemate when you're not there. She sounds like a very loved, very happy little rat though. :) Best wishes!

  • Wow! He has a reallllly long tail! I have fancy rats and mine are still only young but hat tail is giant!

  • what ddoes a pouched rat mean does it have a pouch

  • where do you keep him most of the time?

  • Pouch rats are cool. To me there like a smarter hybrid of cats and dogs combined.

  • Some rats just have a higher metabolism.

And i have never seen a rat like that? I have had a hooded rat and now i have a dumbo rat :)

  • that rat looks awfully thin for a rat. idk maybe its just a dif type of rat but my ani is healthy and shes fatter than that. and shes still growing. but that rat seems a little unhealthy....

  • Your Ani is an Emin's pouched rat?

  • pouched rats have different dna so they are diffrent

  • @minnime1231 it looks health for me..maybe u think its unhealthy because of the tail...but every pouched hat dont have fun on the tip of the tail =p

    (sorry for my english)

  • only 2 more years till i get a pet! two more years tazz two more years

  • Doesn't seem to approach water like our rats. My rats would be IN that tub. Is that because she doesn't know about water yet or is that because the species isn't very water friendly I wonder?

  • oh my

  • Have you found a breeder yet? I am also extremely interested, keep me posted!

  • you should probably use whole bath for him, this is too easy for him :P I have also a video of my rat fishing for peas, but my rat is not punched rat, so it was easier to make bigger bath for her ;)

  • 2 cute, I love how he tested the water a little.

  • please respond: what kind of peas do u use for this? where do you buy them? and what brand is best?

  • just use frozen peas, that's what i do. heat is more deadly to rats than cold- in the summer your rats may enjoy fishing or "diving" for frozen peas in a large bowl of cool water.

  • They used one of those in the Willard remake

  • this is the first time I have ever seen a pouched rat!!!!! are they like other rats; temperament etc?

  • From what I gather, pouched rats are not domesticated so their temperament may be unpredictable, especially around strangers. I've heard though of some pouched rats who are generally friendly and don't bite anyone.

  • Wow, pouched rats hold their tails up twice as high as regualr pet rats!

Almost reminds me of a house cats tail.

  • i have 2 regular pet rats

  • is a kangaroo

  • no.

  • @pouchedrattie yes it is!!!

  • wow ur dumb its not a kangaroo its a puch rat cuz it went close to the camera and wasnt very big u culd see it's whole body

  • awesome comment if reading when drunk

  • i heard fishing peas are fun for them!

  • hey how much did he cost you?

  • you are brillent person you must spend so much time with your rat i bet he only gose in his cage to sleep

  • Totally agree with Delight's comments - such a good rat mama! Lucky little guy, he's sooo cute! I've never seen an Emin's pouched rat before and this is a GREAT way to see them :)

  • Wow, that's an interesting looking rat. It's cute though. :)

  • He's adorable.

  • Heh, my little rats don't want to get their paws wet either! But on REALLY hot days, I give them a deep bowl with cool water and add frozen peas - when they're frozen, they sink! And then they HAVE to get wet ;-) and, thereby, they cool down.

  • I OBVIOUSLY don't have to tell you what a great parent you are. Giving Matisse different kinds of stimulation, working with him, teaching him tricks, spending lots of time with him, he's a very lucky little guy. :-)
