@MGLOne1 they don't necessarily gain much HP with those megan headers to be honest it just let's the engine breath alot better combine them with an axle back exhaust cause the midpipe is actually pretty good and a CAI and change the intake manifold and u will feel a bit more power...

The best things to start with for those cars are: Turboback exhaust, some form of intake, and a retune. If anything, get it tuned via Cobb or Dynoflash.

Yo is that a turbonator on you intake? i have the ijen short ram air intake on mine. and looks nowhere near as big as yours does. right where your maf sensor is.
@nate4life1010 with a NA set up sohc is worse but if you are turboing a car sohc CAN be better. There is less rotational mass so just get a really cam and it would run better than most dohc engines
@HHViRuS I have the V-6 and when you get a set of headers there will be six tubes which go to each piston. In a matter of speaking we have a header for 3 pistons and then another header for the other 3 pistons, which is why for anything V-..... we have what is called Headers. Hope this helps lol.
@fmxrider450 There will be a set of numbers in the engine bay behind the engine on the left side (as if you were looking at the engine) on the fire wall that will give you the answer. The sticker will have model number, engine model ETC. Cali spec will have 9M and Fed spec will have a 4M at the end. So 9M is what you will be looking for. Any other questions just ask.
get dc headers. i got a 4 2 1 dc racing headers but they replace the cat so u wont pass emissions. they sound amazing with a greddy evo2 catback on my 01 eclipse.
just bought those headers myself. I was told by a local shop i'd have to extend the o2 sensor wires for this header swap. did you have any issues putting these headers in?

that was just a short ram intake. i have no idea how those electric super chargers are they seem like a neat idea but its also means that your alternator need to work harder so it might not give you any real big gains for the money. thats just my opinion.
underglow is allright but it really is kinda pointless if you get right down to it. they serv no purpose other than looks. rims look good and serv a purpose they lighten the weight of the car

Wheels with greater rotational mass can, "in theory" help though since they will tend to lower wheel spin. Also, if you get wider wheels, there will be more contact surface, thus providing more grip.
When it comes to performance, sticky tires on stock wheels are "probably best"
I used to know but can't say I can recall right now. I'd think maybe 20ish. Sure there are plenty of aftermarket wheels that weigh less. But most wheels people buy tend to way more since lightweight wheels mean heavier bills.

They are good! But 95% of reliability is how well you take care of it.. You treat it good, it will last; You don't, it won't. Simple enough. Haha they aren't as reliable as a chevy though, but hey, nothing is!

Just from experience, do not get 40 profile tires. Stick with 45 profile. Also, don't buy the ebay special coilovers, they are very dangerous and worthless. Expect to spend around $800 to $1200 for a decent set.
Yeah, mine is a SRI. You will most likely will have to remove the splash guard underneath the driver side wheel well. It is very easy, don't be discouraged either if your car runs like crapp for the first 120 miles, the computer is remapping to counter the extra air the motor is receiving.
I think Borla would be a good choice or get the exhaust shop to do a custom setup with a street series muffler if you want tone and not noise. Mine sounded very nice without the headers, but the flow became too much for my magnaflow muffler after the headers.
Wow, I have no respect for this comment. Any ebay "muffler" will sound like a cracker box. If you go cheap, then you will be the annoying ricers that cruise round the streets for racing. Also, the only thing a GTS has is a different intake plenum which yields an extra 5 hp on the motor.

The headers come will all necessary bungs for O2 sensors. Although there is no bung for the EGR valve. You must cut that pipe and stick a breather on the end of it to make it work properly without throwing any codes.

honestly in my opinion, i would not worry bout the EGR... just install the block off plate that comes with the headers. yeah you'll have the CEL on, but if you get tired of it just take your cluster apart and take the light out. lol. I hear the engine runs like a few degrees cooler not having the egr hooked up... wheather that is true or not or if it helps any i dont know.
I just went to the exhaust shop, and they had the Magnaflow universal highflow cat and had it installed. They are a cheap alternative to those direct bolt on ones, although the direct bolts ons do flow more.
I think on the 03, you have to have a cat because there are 02 sensors after it, but if there are no 02 sensors after it, then technically you do not need a cat, i had an universal magnaflow cat (HFC) put in the stock location
from what i've heard eclipses with full exhaust systems won't pass emissions as easily though. with no catalytic conv. it would be doubtful that it wold pass emissions either. as for this video, thanks! this is the only video i can find with this gen eclipse with headers lol. it makes a big difference. i have an 01' eclipse gt, stock, but i'm thinkin borla catback exhausts though lol
if your talking about your 3rd cat under the body i replaced mine with a singal inlet dual outlet and it runs fine and doesnt throw any codes. check it out on my videos
yeah, shouldn't throw any codes, there isn't ne o2 sensors after the third cat. seen the vids. I like the body kit and cant wait to see it painted. i would have told you that on one of your vids but you got me block... lol
for the money they are hard to beat, but they are raspy and you will throw a code if you dont use the anti-fouler trick or run the secondary sensors behind the cat
right my friend told me the best thin i could do for mine is put springs all the way around it, but im not sure what he was exactly talking about, and put a stage 2 clutch in which sounds like a good idea

Well, if you have a fed spec, these wont help you a lot in the power gains, but for a cali-spec, it will a little. Basically, if you are looking for cheap performance, then this will satisfy your needs, but get a Borla muffler to go with it, my Magnaflow is disappointing. But I recommend getting a cold air intake first, biggest bang for the buck. With the headers and intake, im getting 31mpg on the highway with an eight year old V6.
Catalyst efficiency below threshold (Bank 2). Basically, the new headers dont't have precats and it doesn't like it. There is a trick to fix it though

they are $62 for the set. I like them overall, the fitment wasn't 100% but close enough.

I just went to the exhaust shop, and they had the Magnaflow universal highflow cat and had it installed. They are a cheap alternative to those direct bolt on ones, although the direct bolts ons do flow more.

I have a question! I have headers in my 03 gt eclipse. But do u have catalytic conv. or full piping to the back after the headers?

I think on the 03, you have to have a cat because there are 02 sensors after it, but if there are no 02 sensors after it, then technically you do not need a cat, i had an universal magnaflow cat (HFC) put in the stock location

from what i've heard eclipses with full exhaust systems won't pass emissions as easily though. with no catalytic conv. it would be doubtful that it wold pass emissions either. as for this video, thanks! this is the only video i can find with this gen eclipse with headers lol. it makes a big difference. i have an 01' eclipse gt, stock, but i'm thinkin borla catback exhausts though lol

put a high flow cat or u will blow ur cat and have chunks of metal stuck in ur exhaust

if your talking about your 3rd cat under the body i replaced mine with a singal inlet dual outlet and it runs fine and doesnt throw any codes. check it out on my videos

yeah, shouldn't throw any codes, there isn't ne o2 sensors after the third cat. seen the vids. I like the body kit and cant wait to see it painted. i would have told you that on one of your vids but you got me block... lol

for the money they are hard to beat, but they are raspy and you will throw a code if you dont use the anti-fouler trick or run the secondary sensors behind the cat

right my friend told me the best thin i could do for mine is put springs all the way around it, but im not sure what he was exactly talking about, and put a stage 2 clutch in which sounds like a good idea

Im guessing the springs mean lowering springs. Yeah, they do help but you scrape a lot more.

Well, if you have a fed spec, these wont help you a lot in the power gains, but for a cali-spec, it will a little. Basically, if you are looking for cheap performance, then this will satisfy your needs, but get a Borla muffler to go with it, my Magnaflow is disappointing. But I recommend getting a cold air intake first, biggest bang for the buck. With the headers and intake, im getting 31mpg on the highway with an eight year old V6.

Catalyst efficiency below threshold (Bank 2). Basically, the new headers dont't have precats and it doesn't like it. There is a trick to fix it though
