  • 2Ki 17:7 ¶ For [so] it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods, 2Ki 17:8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. 2Ki 17:23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, ....

  • The only doctrine that anyone should care about if they are really want to be "Christian" is Jesus' commandment to love God and to love others. Who cares what God's name is? Religious people really make a mistake when they waste all their time telling others "they aren't the real thing." If they spent more time loving others instead of bashing other denominations, the world would be a much better place. I also think churches would be much better place if you could enjoy them with a pint! Yummy!

  • this vid has completely wrongly interpreted what Rob Bell is saying!! he never said anything about Buddhism or Hinduism, Rob Bell believes the Scripture to be God's word and Jesus as the only way.

  • This guy is a modernist. He is trapped in the way that the church has been going for the last 20 years. He has a ridiculously small worldview and will never reach our generation. Grr this guy makes me so mad. Rob Bell meant going back to Christianity's roots as a middle eastern religion.

  • Postmodernism believes in no absolute truth, but that's not what the emergent church believes. The Emergent church believes that the absolute truth in our world is God and His Son Jesus. The Emergent church just thinks that the way we've been "doing" church has to change.

  • @sheldoman

Who says it has to change?

  • This is about the "EMERGENT" Church Movement and NOT NOT NOT NOT the "EMERGING" Church Movement!!!! THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!!!! PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS FACT!!!

  • then you have that empiracle evidence to look at what they beleive and what they are saying and most importantly- what they are teaching to billions of people, which can affect their eternity and standing with the Lord, or a lack of one in facvor for a "form of religion, but without the true power source." We were warned these times would come, and so they have and we are going to defend every bit of the truth and not allow these heretics to wage war and re-define the bible, Jesus, salvation...

  • I am going to write this as clear as I know how. I have nothing personally agaisnt Mr Bell. or Brain Mclaren or Tony Jones or Doug Pagitt or the many other people who would make up this new turn caot liberalism gone to pot in except there theology and the power they have to trick people and play with there worldview. I do not know them, I don't want to. But you someone starts speaking and writing books and artilces and they assert that the bible is not divine product as Bell has clearly stated..

  • crwheaties: You just don't like that there is a true authentic bible believing remnant of people who are devoted to the bible and Jesus and to maintain the purity of the gospel in the face of a large ever widening body of apostate detractors who are nothing more than update 21 centrury Karl Bart - liberal bible hating clones that the bible said would characterize that times before his second coming. This must happen before the man of sin comes it says in the NT per Paul and Holy Spirit. So true!

  • I wonder if it is ABSOLUTELY TRUE that there is no such thing as an absolute truth?

I would love to see McLaren debate Doug Eaton.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • You hit the nail on the head! Its such a self refuting statement.

If I asked one of these to go and walk through a solid brick wall they would realise that there is such a thing as absolute truth.

  • No, but if I close my eyes and run really fast, the wall will just disappear!

    ; )

  • where in the world is this guy getting his facts... ive listened to many rob bell videos... there is not one hint of anything but the pure word of God... not Bhudda or hinduism... Christianity ... you want to know who the heretics are.. the ones turning and biting their brother bcause they simply wont listen to what he has to say... they go off of other peoples opinions... blind leading the blind... this is absolutely absurd

  • I can understand your concern, however I think he documents all of his statements, there is plenty of evidence for what he says, I should do an internet search and find the documentation if you are not convinced.

Regardless of this particular video, I believe there is a pattern developing that follows what people are saying about the emerging church. Its undeniable.

    God bless

  • well im not sure if anythin i said was confusing... but i like Rob bell's preaching... and i don't believe he has anyhing to do with the emergent church

  • You think Rob Bell is pure? Are you kidding me? Have you read his book or interviews? Are you choosing to be blind or have you seriously looked at what these people are teaching and saying in black and white. Do you not study what the bible has to say about an end times apostasy like it says all through out NT? Rob bell stated that bible is a human product. That if Jesus DNA proved he had been found and he had an EARTHLY FATHER, that would not bother him. Have you read the Emergent MANIFESTO?

  • you know if twisted everything you ever said on youtube just enough to my liking.. i bet i could convince people you were an athiest... i bet you could go to an atheist and twist his words to seem theist... im not saying Rob bell is perfect... im not saying that he is right or wrong about a thing... I am saying that if you twist anyones words enough... you can make them into anything... some of the things he said are controversial to prove a point.. maybe not everything he says is literal

  • Generally when you are working with direct undesiputed quotes that come from a worldview of some fashion, you have a pretty solid direct link into this person's beleives and "heart" or mind. Out of the over flow of the heart, does the mouth speak says Jesus. Like more people, you attack with some vague accusations, with our any real merit or value behind the statement you are making. I can prove exastivley that Bell is a heretic to the core using his own words and the bible by which we test them

  • The funny thing is that you assume anyone has done any "twisting of his words at all" when he puts out his worldview and believes so clearly himself...You just don't want to define what he is saying is unorthodox or heretical for some odd reason. Is it because you too believe that everyone is already saved and they just don't know it? Do you do the meditation that he teaches and encourages people to do to contact spiritual entities, which these Emergents assume as the sourceis God, but is not!

  • Doctrine is very important. 2John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. When you stray from the basic doctrines you end up in big trouble. Doctrine is sound and it protects for false teaches and false prophets are gone out into the world deceiving the sheep.

  • Sounds like New Age church.

  • contd-

Not to mention the feel good message. You can bank on a church as relaxed as that is not preaching what the world REALLY needs to hear, especially at this late hour, which is...Repent or perish!

Nah, everyone's got an itching ears problem and no one wants to know that they are going to hell because they do not know Jesus.

    Point made, dialogue closed.

  • I agree with what you are saying about the gospel. People preach God's love and grace all the time without preaching about His wrath and judgement. Then, what ends up happening is that people don't understand why they need God's grace if He's so loving and mushy all the time. The gospel then means nothing. I was just saying that the way a church looks should not matter, what is taught does matter.

  • This is a good video, the church has been very lax on giving good, solid doctrine. People are either doing the right thing, and flocking to sound doctrine (because there is a reformation of sorts happening in that area today), or they are flocking to this emergent church thing and clinging to rituals. They are both grasping for security. But one is doing right and clinging to God's Word, while the other is clinging to man-made traditions.

  • I dont think I can stomach part II. I've heard enough....Rick Warren too...Purpose driven life? really?

    beloved

  • What a HERESY! Those people must be CRAZY!!!!

  • Oh, the emergent church is definately up and running. All the Rick Warren types are drawing people in with the comfy doctrine.

I saw a video here on youtube of a church without pews. It has instead, a bunch of lounge chairs and coffee tables.

In your list of emergent churches, you forgot Saddleback.

  • You are right, it is 'comfy doctrine', a 'one size fits all' doctrine.

On the vid I took this one off, there are hindu/muslim etc all sharing their faith at a Sunday church meeting here in England.

    God bless

  • what do pews versus lounge chairs and coffee tables have to do with whether or not a church is doctrinally sound? Where you meet and what you sit on should not matter AT ALL. (unless you are meeting in a strip club or something)

  • Well n2, as long as you know the meaning of comfort, you should know that people aren't supposed to be comfortable in church. Church is a place where people go to listen to the Word of God, where the Holy Spirit convicts.

If everyone is sitting in a lounge chair sippin their coffee, then it's more like a club than a actual church.

They are all preachin the feel good gospel. The bottom line truth is....we are not supposed to feel good about our sins.

    Love God= Despise sin

  • You do realize that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter as well, do you not? Also, you yourself even say that the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts, not the pews. I believe that the One who is powerful enough to create the universe has the power to convict through His Word regardless of what kind of chair a person is sitting on. And saying that sitting on a comfy chair=not despising sin is simply ridiculous and neither supported nor condemned by scripture.

  • cont.

So, sin is bad, yes, and we should be convicted and repent. But there is also comfort to be found in two ways, 1) Because of God's grace, we can know that He is with us to help us not sin and 2) When we do mess up (though we desire not to), there is still grace to forgive us.

However, the chair you are sitting in does not matter. The church I am in is too poor for pews, so we have chairs. The Holy Spirit works independently of seating. He is more powerful than that.

  • I did not in any way imply that the shape of a chair makes any difference in what the Holy Spirit can or cannot do. I believe you to be intelligent enough to know exactly what I was talking about. So, you missing my point was obviously deliberate.

I, too, have been in churches that use folding chairs instead of pews...big deal! I'm talking about church sanctuaries that look like hotel lobbies instead of churches, with all the couches, lazy boys and coffee tables. cont-

  • Your videos on this are awesome!Thank you for them and God bless you!

    Karen

  • Thanks for your encouragement KarensFaith, God bless you too :)

  • This nonsense mixed with "evangelicals and Catholics together" and the Peter Wagner Prophets of perversion are setting up the church of the Antichrist while we watch.

  • They all seem to be of the same crowd, they all endorse eachother and constantly attack the church.

  • Good video. This is sorely needed. The Emergent Church is destroying truth. People who embrace this movement will embrace, Gnostism, New Age doctrines, Catholicism, ALL of the Todd Bentley-Patricia King-Bob Jones herecies and ultimately they will accept the Antichrist. Reject this movement for what it is HERECY!

John MacArthur wrote a very good book on this subject called "The Truth War", anyone wanting to know about this movement should read this book.

  • Thanks for the recommendation, I didnt know John M had written on this. Thats one to look out for.

  • Oh yeah, it's really good too! He basically calls out the church to ernestly defend the faith against these types. The book uses the book of Jude as a reference and goes over the whole church age and looks at different herecies that threatened the church. He quotes freely from the Emergent leaders to show their herecies. It's a really good book and sorely needed in these days.

God bless you and your ministry. Keep exposing these false prophets and false teachers.

  • I don't have this one by John MacArthur. But I am going to get it! Thanks!
