Wasn't the original premise of dbz goku becoming a hero of earth, avenging his people and countless others defeating frieza, gohan getting stronger and stronger while unlocking his inner power, until the son surpassed the father, the half human, half saiyan saving the day becoming the next generation of hero?

Heck the way I heard of it, even the editors and producers at his mangaka pressured Toriyama into making goku saving the day.

And I thought the only limitation of goku's was he needed to have been there before or close enough to sense a person, like gohan's, energy. @CCrockyourass Actually I think what goku commented when buu started turning into kid buu was that kid buu was twice the strength of super buu despite his size, as his strength until then was still corrupted by the absorbed kai's. However, Kid buu's strength still couldn't compare to gotenks or gohan absorbed buu.

But umm, gohan WAS alive half way through the kid buu fight, along with the rest of the earth. Why didn't goku just teleport back to earth for gohan, it would have taken only 20 sec

The saga should of ended something like this: While goku's trying to make the spirit bomb, Vegeta can't go on anymore, but who comes to the rescue? Gohan! Then he has an epic battle with kid buu, but loses a lot of energy after deflecting the same blast that destroyed the earth. In the end, goku struggles with the spirit bomb so Gohan adds a Kamehameha wave and they beat buu together. that way Vegeta had his big plan and both Goku and Ultimate Gohan got to be the hero. everyones happy in the end

Honestly, if they brought Gotenks and Gohan along, it would've been so much easier, not to mention if they fused to Vegito again, but no, they just enjoy complicating things to the extent of endangering entire universe instead(cough letting Freeza transform, letting Cell become perfect, leaving Fat buu to a 7 and 8 year old instead of finishing him off yourself, sparing Super Buu in attempt to rescue your children, even though you could wish them back with Dragonballs, etc.)

This all happened while Buu was under control of Bibidi, i don't know if his son, Babidi knew all this but the good and evil in Fat Buu split up and you know what happened after that...
