It's money, what do you expect? If those other parties had funding, they would get equal air time. I still remember Ross Perot -- I knew more about him as an independent than I did about the other candidates. He still lost, so that says something about how people vote, no doubt.

What does time limitations have to do with misleading the public? You don't think they could talk about those two without telling people they are the only two running? And look at websites where there is plenty of "time" or room on the page. You can't see the game being played when a news outlet only lists 2 candidates on the page (when others are able to list many more, the pages scroll you know) And who can win is not the criteria for listing. You think horse racing sites should exclude too?

I do believe,1980 was the last full on election.Both parties had several candidates still running when they held their conventions.John Anderson,a disenchanted Republican,was running as an Independent.The final candidates weren't chosen until during the conventions.The conventions weren't just a formality.Since 1980,the news media has done everything they can to streamline the process and pick the candidates for us.Decide the results ahead of time.They seem to think it's their purpose.

Even here in Russia we have 4 parties presented in the parliament and about 20 parties running every 4 years. All 20 participate on the TV debates because there is a law that allows them to do so. The government even has to pay for some of their TV ads so the rich and big parties do not have so much advantage over the poor and small ones. We need instant-runoff voting (1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc.) to get 3rd party candidates elected, because people are too fearful they will "waste" their vote and spoil the chances of the least worst candidate.

Its incredible! They are politically biased against third parties! how can third parties be legitimately represented when CNN has on a democrat and a republican on to explain them!

Pointing out the Media is corrupt is like stating that a shark (if hungry enough) will bite you. It's a given and has been as long as someone has been able to buy press, or a (to go back awhile) town crier.
Each time you bring up this you make it sound like you are suprised.
Additionally if change will ever come, it won't come to the media, they've gotten so good at being bad they don't even cover it up anymore.
We all know it's broke, we need steps to fix the system. Ideas?

The tyrannical party that owns 50% of the "Commission on Presidential Debates" that excluded 3rd party candidates, is the same party that cried "spoiler" when they lost "their" elections. They and their media have got you by the balls. Who voted on the Bush bailout? McCain and Obama. And more Democratic congressmen than Republicans. You buy their "spoiler" line, you stay in chains. How does a third party candidate get around the college electorate? Even if they win a popular vote it won't matter, which is something that we saw in 2000.
