  • Welcome to K-State, Cody.

  • @tonypena7 hes going to tulsa.

  • transfering :( that sucks so bad......

  • @TheHuskerpower10 I know!

  • @NUHusker09 old news but dontravius robinson transfered and cody gleen gave up his caraer at nebraska and is now a student coach ..... thin at qb and especially rb and lb.

  • @TheHuskerpower10 Sucks more if you knew where he transferred to....:) EMAW

  • @gap3221 Where did he go to?

  • @NUHusker09 According to a Nebraska radio station this morning (I don't know which one) he has joined Bill Snyder and the Kansas State Wildcats. Its really not a big loss for you guys though, T-mart is still young, and you will be able to get some more QB's. I'm just jacked for K-State. If he starts next year (2012) KSU's QB will be a nubb transfer, HB a Tenn transfer, WR a Oregon transfer/ another Minnesota transfer haha.

  • @TheHuskerpower10 He didn't go to Tulsa? Because that's what I said if you weren't an idiot and would actually read all the articles. As I said a Husker radio station said it was a done deal him to k-state. 3 hrs later I was notified by some friends who play at Tulsa, and they said he was coming there. One month later, he is official at Tulsa. Way to read, moron.

  • @gap3221 i meant to someone one else dont get so mad calm down.

  • @NUHusker09 Never mind. I'm getting word that K-State didn't offer, so he is headed to Tulsa. I got the info that he was going to k-state from Neb fans, on a message board, it was false.

  • @gap3221 I am not sure where he's going but It doesn't really matter because it won't manipulate us. I just hope he does well where ever he goes. He was a great team player.

  • too bad for green Martinez showed up.... I bet cody leaves NU

  • 13-2 highchool record isn't going to cut it for Nebraska.. why he's on the bench.

  • martinez is way better then cody green ...

  • now if we can just improve our o-line, he will start tearing it up. maybe add a play-maker at receiver, i like Bell though, same with kinnie, and paul has already proven himself. hate that gabbert decommitted that was shady. same with carter, pinkel is playing dirty i think.

I think cody should be our qb next year and we ought to fix things on offense so his talent can be unleashed.

  • It's not our O-Line, it's our Wide Receivers.

  • imo a big part of it is our o-line. I went to a game and saw the rest and they aren't very physical. they were only okay against the sun belt teams and kansas. they get penalties+ can't block, that's why Helu may be one of the best backs in the nation rushing for over 1000 yards with that o-line. our WRs aren't that physical for blocking either with the exception of Paul. but it has to be one of the worst o-lines in the history of Nebraska. NU didn't even have a 2nd team big 12 lineman. amazing.

  • I know, but they will be better next year. Don't you worry.

  • its our line I promise u!!

  • im from dayton i went to alot of codys game he a cool dude once u get to know know him i put 2 knows for a reason wasnt a typo

  • I gotcha' man. lol. He seems like a good kid.

  • Washington,Kellogg,Spano..

that is the Nebraskas future. Green is more fitted to play in the WAC or MAC but not the Big 12.

  • Dude. You're absolutely OUT of your mind!

Cody Green has played what? 2 or 3 games and you already think he isn't suited for us? He's gosh dang INEXPERIENCED!!!!!!

Just like all of the other Quarterbacks! Talk about no patience man, give me a break.

  • cody green got his first start yesterday against baylor n played well he has a long way 2 go but he will do fine. Good luck the rest of the season Cody. GO BIG RED

  • I am not sure if he or Zach Lee will be QB. Cody is pretty inexperienced still.

  • i think he will just cuase he can run the ball n he has a bigger frame and against texas u need a good mobile QB witch C green has i say keep goin with cody get him reps he is you fucture.

  • Oklahoma every1 mah bad not texas i take it back i ment Oklahoma

  • I don't understand what you're saying dude. It doesn't make too much sense.

  • im sayin he is your fucture play him give him reps get him better.

  • Ok. Yeah Cody has 3 more years. I think by his Senior year he will be an All-American.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHuskerpower10 Yes he's Young. He's Vince YOUNG. Better than that. I can't wait to see him make an impact. He'll be as handy as Martinez.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHuskerpower10 He and Taylor are both great athletes. I think Green has the size advantage. He just needs to mature as a Quarterback to handle the situations he's occasionally in. I don't think any QB on our roster isn't good. I think we could use all of them. They don't just pick any guys to become QB. Green does struggle, but he certainly does not suck.

  • ya know this might sound like blasphemy but does anyone else agree that Cody Green's playing style is identically like Tommy Frazier???

  • Nothing like Tommy Frazier I think personally, because of the offensive plays they each run. La Travis Washington is supposedly the Tommy Frazier type player.

  • He is a man child

  • Yes. Very beastly...

  • Cody is a great player from what I've seen. Nebraska is lucky to have him, and I'm pleased to have a possible Heisman candidate on the husker team now.

  • Cody Green looked very good last night against FAU.

He has such a nice running stride.

  • Yes, he does, doesn't he?

  • Running, he reminds me of VY. Both of them had such long legs that they ate the ground up in a way that looks like they're not even going fast ... just no one else can seem to catch them ;)

  • Yes, very similar to Vince Young. We might have a Heisman winner soon! ;)

  • lol, i live in Liberty and i went to a couple of Dayton games and that dude is sick as hell

  • Are you a Husker fan now that he's on the team, I'd pay careful attention to Nebraska, because he's got a great chance with us.

  • Im not a big Nebraska fan but they could definitely do something with someone as talented as Cody. Hopefully he can help Nebraksa become a BIG 12 threat again

  • Who do you like?

Nebraska is already become a BIG 12 threat. We are getting better along the way, and we have Ndamukong Suh.

  • go big red!!!

  • Cody Green rules!

  • Hey Cody...Thanks for Choosing Nebraska

  • I am so thrilled that he's a husker!

  • Okay I'm 4rm dayton where he is from

and he is freakin amazin to watch his arm is like a cannon and runs like a deer. Nebraska so fuckin lucky to have him right here

  • I know.

I am so excited to have such a good player playing on my favorite football team.

I wonder how well Watson will do with him, it will be great to watch.

  • Is it true? A BIG, FAST, BLACK QB that knows how to throw and run is coming to the Bug Eaters? Nooo way! The dudes like Crouch and Ganz put together. We got a Vince Young hopeful in Nebraska! Suck on that Josh Freeman. Holy shit i can sleep at night finally knowing we have raw talent at the QB position. Incredible!

  • lol. Well he sounds like Tommy Frazier.

Let's not talk about colored people in racial terminology.

I have people of all (color) watching my videos, and I don't want anyone to be offended. lol.

Josh Freeman pissed me off though too...

  • i apologize for my "racial terminology".. it wont happen again. A BIG, FAST QB that knows how to throw and run! woohoo!!!

  • Thanks, I appreciate it.

Yes, this is enjoyable to see a Quarterback like Tommy Frazier here at Nebraska.

It sure will be exciting to watch this Husker team in fall of 2009!

  • I HOPE HE IS REDSHIRTED AND SITS OUT WHILE ZAC LEE wins us 11 or 12 games then have lee join the draft and cody start for 4 years!! get another set of back to backs!!!! cody will make people say sam who??? colt what???? grahm crackers?????

  • He is going to be awesome, i can't wait.

  • me too. i hope so.

  • THE HUSKERS WILL TAKE THE TOP IN 2009

  • I hope so!

Did you know Nebraska was #2 in the Big 12 in total defense last year?

Isn't that insane compared to our 07 defense!

  • i think the huskers will face off with oklahoma and both teams will be 8-0! im sure we will finish the season in the top 10 and have a good shot at the feista bowl..

  • Wow! That's pretty big thinking. But I hope you're right! GO HUSKERS!

  • He's so f***ing huge!! this guy is a tank!! good for BoShow's tough offense..i hope he starts..imagine how sweet it would be to have a QB like this start all 4 years!!

P.S. huskermaniac28-thats a tough break man..the Nebraska tunnelwalk is something you definitely have to do b4 u die..it is without a doubt a bucketlist item for any NU fan

  • I think this recruit will stay on the team with us. If he commited a year ago and he signed to us this year and watches us. i am pretty sure he is going to be a big help for the Huskers if none of his arms or legs are broken.

  • He's a big guy. I hope he plays 4 years, it'd be nice to get a QB some experience.

  • dude one of my favorite quotes from chase daniels at mizzou was this "people will come up you and say like you suck" isnt that hilarous?

  • He's a jerk. He makes me sick. I can't stand him. And I hope he doesn't go to the NFL.

  • the wrong hand signals for calling plays... my bad

  • witt was a head case... he felt lee spano and green was taking away his team. from what i have been hearing green has been tearing it up in 7 vs. 7 drills and it was making witt mad. he taught green wrong signs. IMO witt read the writing on the wall and saw he was the least mobile qb in the bunch and knew he would be the odd mad out with changing of our offense to a more dual threat qb... also players on the team did not like him thought he was cocky... IMO im glad he is gone

  • where did you hear green was doing well in 7 on 7? thats a good sign.

  • ha well thats better lol did you hear about patrick witt leaving NU?? thats crazy, totally caught me off guard. im just glad we have zac lee to take over. look for a whole lot more running next year though, particularly zone read option stuff. that will be good though, because we will be able to incorporate all our playmakers that way, and all 3 running backs (helu, castille, mendoza) should get plenty of reps.

  • Yeah, my dad just told me. Well, better delete the promo I made for him!

  • haha yeah, im in the process of making a 2009 husker video and i plan to put it on youtube, but i already have some stuff for him up so im gonna go take it off in just a minute. its too bad, i think he would have done pretty well as the starter. well see how zac lee does though. i think hell do pretty well, actually. our 09 season hinges on the play of the qb though, we seem to have a pretty good establishment of players in most other positions, save reciever.

  • Cool, I'd be happy to watch it. And yeah, we have plenty of guys. Witt is just being about himself and he wants to go to the NFL. I don't think he cares that he was at Nebraska, he just wanted to play for someone good. Considering signing to a 5-7 team I don't know why...

  • i dont think we should assume this is a selfish thing just yet. we dont really know anything about it yet. that is possible, but he seemed like a good kid to me, so im not gonna hold anything against him yet. im not sure where would be a better place to get into the nfl, considering NUs offense is more prostyle than a lot of them these days. either way, i wish him the best and im still excited about the battle that will take place between lee, spano, and green (and possibly taylor martinez too!)

  • Yes! I am excited too! When Bo Pelini came to California for a home visit to Martinez's house. I live in the city next to him and he plays for the high school that is rivals with mine! Pretty interesting to know Bo Pelini was in the same state and two cities away!

  • you know the funny thing about that? cody green's high school (dayton) wasnt but 30 minutes from my house, and is in my school's district! what a coincidence! i went and watched him play my school's team! he wrecked shop :P anyway, i heard a little more about witt, and i didnt really like what i heard, but i still wish him the best wherever he goes. he will be a good qb wherever he goes, and if its a school smaller than nebraska, chances are he will start. heck, maybe nebraska will play him.

  • Yeah. He is kind of being a. Well, let's just say he is not being mature. I could understand an 8 year old kid in Pop Warner quiting because he didn't get to play, but Witt? Because of Lee getting more reps? Come on. He needs to take his thumb out of his mouth, stand up strait and go with the flow or else he's going to end up working in a grocery store or some job he doesn't want.

  • yeah i agree. well regardless, he is gone and we need to move on. i dont mind much, because lee is a more mobile qb, which is something that is getting more and more important, and he has a good arm.

  • Yes, I agree. And get this, Lee's dad played in the NFL for a long time. Oh and I don't know if you guys have ever seen or heard about this, but I have a website, and there is a link on my Channel, that takes you directly to my homepage. So please take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks!

  • yeah i did hear that. bob lee. ok ill take a look and let you know!

  • i looked at your site, it looks pretty good. pretty bare still, but im sure with time it will fill up nicely. i like your player of the year pick, joe ganz is a fighter and a born competitor. those are the guys that are truly great. you get any guy with 5 star talent and inject ganz's personality into them, and they are going to be one everyone remembers.

  • Oh I know! I picked Ganz because he didn't quit. When we played Colorado in Boulder in 2007. He threw many interceptions but kept his head up and kept trying. He is also a very mobile Quarterback. He makes the right descisions and was a smart Recruit by Bill Callahan. Unfortunately noone appreciatted Bill Callahans effort. I mean come on! Root against your head coach? Pathetic.

  • yep ganz wasnt great because of athletic gifts (although he did have good accuracy and was mobile), but because of his competitiveness. definitely a fighter and was a very smart recruit. that was one accomplishment of cosgrove, who was his lead recruiter. and i agree, as much as i disliked callahan, i never once wanted nebraska to lose a game. i didnt think they deserved to go to a bowl game in 07, but i still wanted them to.

  • i think a close second to MVP of the year would have to go to ndamukong suh, who anchored a defensive line that bailed out the depleted and inexperienced back 7 too many times to count. suh is a special talent that really blossomed with some good coaching, and he really looks like a guy that will have a great nfl career. not to mention his wise decision to return for his senior season and earn his degree. that way if he got a career ending injury, he would have something legit to fall back on.

  • I agree. Suh was an excellent player. And still is. If he goes, and he probably is. He is going to do great most likely. We're very fortunate for Callahan to recruit him.

  • yeah he was one of the few guys from the 2005 class that actually panned out. its too bad callahan's staff wasnt as good at coaching as the current staff. i think suh is living proof of how much better actual coaching we have with pelini's staff. im not surprised though; we have a lot of the same staff that we had in 03 plus some great new additions. im really glad we got guys like ron brown, barney cotton, and marvin sanders back, but we got some great new guys like ekeler and papuchis.

  • Yeah. I totally agree with you. You know, I still sometimes think we shouldn't have fired Frank Solich. He did a great job. So he took us 7-6. He still gave a hard effort.

  • yeah solich was a solid coach with a 55-19 record, but he was sort of, well, dull, and therefore wasnt an elite recruiter. some of his good years were cushioned by the fact that eric crouch was carrying the team on his back. solich had a good tenure as both and assistant and head coach. in the long run though, i think it worked out for the better, because we got one of the best one two punches in college football: bo pelini as head coach and tom osborne as AD. that combination spells success.

  • Well Solich had to beg to get Crouch back and if Crouch didn't get his way he would throw a fit. He quit when Bobby Newcome (I hope I spelled it right) got the starting spot and quit the rams in the preseason. I like Crouch, but he gives up on himself way to easy.

  • yeah i see where you are coming from. i think its newcombe lol either way, solich was solid but i think it all worked out in the long run.

  • lol. Glad you see it like me. Well, I will be depressed when summer ends, but I will be happy when College football starts and the Husker Spring Game starts!

  • yeah me too! i cant wait already, and it really sucks because the spring game is like 2 and a half months away and the season is like 6 months away lol. but i cant wait to see how cody green does in the spring game.

  • And when the Spring Game ends I will be able to decide what kind of videos to make. I want to know who is going to be the starting quarterback at Nebraska.

  • yeah i agree. i am having trouble getting the movie i made to upload onto youtube, it keeps saying failed. im gonna try to get a friend to help me out. but yeah, im really excited about it. im almost positive itll be zac lee, but you never know. green could surprise everyone by being ready to start his freshman year, and i think kody spano is the next joe ganz (in terms of being underrated. maybe not as good as ganz, but probably the one that will get overlooked.) anyway, itll be fun to watch.

  • Oh... That's weird. Yeah, it will be fun to watch, and it's hard to tell, because none of these guys have played a game! Not even a play, except for Lee who also played some for San Fransisco Junior College.... But that's about it.

  • yeah you are right. lee played a couple plays last year, but overall it will be fun to see how they all do. the only reason im not worried about next season (which would be because of lack of in-game experience) is because of our coaches. well see what happens!

  • lol. Well I agree and check out my homepage to my website!

  • thats pretty sweet. i suggest you add spano into the mix though, i think hell be more of a factor than most people think. green is definitely getting a big boost to his career by enrolling in the spring. the funny thing is, he is still 17!! lol i mean thats how old i am, and to think that a kid my age is already competing for the starting job... lol. he will be 18 by the time fall practice starts though. but still lol its like ahman green in the 90s, running all over big 12 defenses at 18.

  • Wow that's hard to believe. Do you want to play for the Huskers? And Amahn Green is a great Running Back though, but he hasn't done anything. I am not sure if he even starts for the Texans!

  • hell yeah i want to play for nebraska lol but i am way too small and slow :P but if i end up going to nebraska, i might try to walk on to the wrestling team. ahman green hasnt done anything lately cuz hes too old, and the texans released him. he used to be a freaking beast though. he wrecked people in place of lawrence phillips as a true freshman in 95, and he made green bay for a lot of years. he was a good one two punch w/ steve slaton when he was healthy last year, but he is always injured.

  • That doesn't matter, Get a weight set and lift like crazy! And try out for your high school football team, that would be a good thought. I am not in High School yet. I am playing Junior All American football. The team I am playing for wears Carger uniforms. Because I live near San Diego.

  • haha trust me i do lift weights like crazy, for wrestling. i was on the football team for freshman and sophomore years. but now i wrestle for my school instead. hopefully i can get an opportunity to walk on the wrestling program. i would be absolutely thrilled to be able to do that. as a matter of fact i just lifted weights like crazy today lol. we are maxing next week.

  • lol. Oops. I mean Charger. Not Carger. That's cool that you're on the wrestling. Team. I watched Wrestling. WWE as a matter of fact. You know the fake stuff. Isn't Iowa State the best Wrestling Team?

  • haha yeah i understood what you meant. haha yeah the fake stuff. quite humorous. iowa state is always really good, usually at least in the top 5, but nebraska is actually usually in the top 5 too. thats why it would be a thrill to have a walk on offer. im sure you have to be really freaking good to even get an offer to walk on at a top 5 wrestling school. anyway, i think the top 4 are iowa, oklahoma state, iowa state, and nebraska. those are 4 schools that are always right up there.

  • I use to be a big fan, infact, I bought shirts, made wrestling videos with my friends and bought the video game, a huge ring, and 130 figures of all the guys. lol. I was so into it until my dad took me to the Virginia Tech game and it was back to football.

  • haha wow well im glad you are back to nebraska football!

  • Me too. I was such a big fan. One game did it all. I took a video of the tunnel walk at the game.

  • haha. the funny thing is, i have never even been to a nebraska game. i only lived in nebraska until i was 5, and then i lived in colorado and now texas. its always been too far away. hopefully ill be able to go to the baylor game this year since its in waco. well see!

  • You haven't?!?!?! OMGosh!!!! Wow, that sucks, and you've never been in memorial stadium? It is great! I hate Baylor and I hope we beat the heck out of them.

  • lol no i havent. it does suck lol. i dont mind baylor, but obviously i want nebraska to beat the heck out of everybody lol. their qb is sure good though, robert griffin. what a beast lol hes the only reason baylor was decent last year, and i think they are gonna give everyone trouble until they lose him. and by then they may have been able to get enough good recruits to keep it going. at any rate, i dont think baylor will be cellar dwellers in the big 12 anymore.

  • Well they sure were for many years! Yeah. I noticed how the guy jumped the bench, he was a hurdler though, so that was no crap. That was like you or me jumping over a rock. lol, not a boulder though. He is very fast to, and he is Robert Griffin the 3rd.

  • haha yeah i know! i kind of admire them for getting themselves out of it. in a few years i dont think there will be a team in the big 12 that isnt decent. itll eventually pass up the SEC as the most competitive. now dont get me wrong, the big 12 is a better conference than the SEC, but you have to admit that all the SEC teams beat each other every single year, making it the most competitive conference. i think that eventually the big 12 will be the all around premier conference.

  • The Big 12 is not better than the SEC. Only Florida and Alabama are good though Geiorgia is overrated because they where ranked #1 in the NCAA 09 game. Florida got beat by Ole Miss. Who beat Texas Tech who got spanked by Oklahoma who got spanked by Florida. lol. Alabama was smacked by Utah who is overrated because they play with crappy teams in the Mountain west where. Pretty much none of them are good. USC, Ohio State, West Virginia, Texas, LSU. What do they all have in common? Overrated!!!

  • heres the a real badass bring back the husker and take us to the national championship go gig red

  • lol. We'll see if he's championship material!

  • yeah hopefully this kid will pan out and not end up like josh freeman or harrison beck. i dont think he will. he looks awesome!

  • dude harison beck sucks, josh freeman was selfish he just wanted playing time.. he was ok at KSU but i dnt think he would have been a starter at UN anyways.. this kid cody green is good tho

  • yeah i know, that is what i was saying. both of those guys were highly touted recruits, and both of them just blew off nebraska and took off somewhere else. what i meant was that i hope cody green ends up making a big impact on nebraska football.

  • Lets hope so. I know you guys are excited, but it is waaayyyy! To early to tell. He could transfer, he could be cummy, he could get injured, anything could happen.

  • yeah i understand that. im not counting on anything with this kid, but from what ive read about him and reading what he says and stuff, i dont think hell transfer unless something goes horribly wrong. it sounded like the only reason he chose nebraska was because of the coaches and atmosphere. im just hoping that hell be able to adjust to the speed of the college game and be able to stay healthy.

  • and what in the world does cummy mean? i hope its not what i think it means lol

  • I forgot the r. lol. Crummy. Like the crums.
