I used RealPlayer to download YouTube videos and VLC to convert them to a format that Adobe Premiere could understand. I also used VLC to capture screenshots from the videos to edit them in Gimp, a Photoshop-esque program for Macs that is also free.

Ah I see, I wasn't aware you could do all that with RealPlayer and VLC, even though I've used both. Normally I DL YT vids using ad-ons, websites, etc. (Then I convert them using some software, and work with them from there.)  Sorry about being so dense.
