I find it hard to believe you didn't get it! but basically, it's not another guy, it's the same guy, there is only one character in the film, himself. He is beating himself up physically, because emotionally he has been beaten up by others due to the fact that he is gay. He is taking out the pain on himself.

Even though this ad itself is in support of young gay people... I'm sure we've all felt like the young man in this video. Completely desecrating ourselves with more hatred than we could have for anyone else in the world... and not even showing a scratch on the surface.

Beautiful piece; it shows a lot of talent, insight, and compassion on the director's part.

Wonderful, beautiful, moving, and powerful. Though I'm not gay, I'm a big supporter and have several friends who are and have come to me saying they thought it might be easier to die. All four times I've watched this now, I've cried.

I was doing some research on Tv commercials for an assignment when I came across an ad of two men kissing. my 11year old brother, who was sitting beside me, said something along the lines of "I hate gays, they're disgusting". I hurts me to think that discrimination towards gays has made its way to children, just like him. Being bisexual myself, I'm afraid that when i finally do out myself to my family, his idea of homosexuality will not have changed and he will probably never speak to me again.

@kidd8k Its true, I had quite possibly the most stressful month of my life just recently and because I'm gay led me to contemplating a very real decision that would have stopped everything.

Some say that they know what we go through but we might as well just wear a sign on our chest that says "here for your amusement".
