@RIPSNZ yeah, if everything has to be custom made my budget will be blown to pieces rather quick, plus I live in germany, where we have crazy regulations, so kepping it street-legal will be close to impossible.
@TraxxasKing depends on the spec I suppose, for a chug chig V8 your probably right but for reliable hp/ci these are WAY ahead of just about any V8. Let me know how much it would cost for a relibale 7-8 hp per cubic inch V8 street engine that runs on petrol and will last 3 years at 9000-10,000rpm (thats a reliable 3000+hp from say 400 ci) bet you its not cheaper than one of my engines
Mate I am not doubting you or your engines I am just saying that the cheapest way to get to 1000hp is with a v8, longevity and reliability is another thing.
I want 2wd im jus tryn to figure wat tranny to use and oil pan and how to I get the ecu and everything wired in and stuff this is my first turbo motor swapped car the last swap I did was a direct drop and plug in and it was all good
hey question i have a 1983 datsun 280zx turbo i dont wanna buld the l28et i wanna do a rb26dett swap and i want to keep it rwd what transmission and were do i get a oil pan or should i juts cut off the front diff and weld caps in where the front cv shafts go and will i have a big problem fittin the motor in and gettin ecu installed i just want a stock rb for now thanks and please respond ripsnz
@colorgard Use a R33 GTS25t 2wd tranny and we make a custom oil pan for 240z's with RB26, not sure if they are the same for 280 though, see if you can find out and e-mail me rips@inspire.net.nz if you want info or to order. Robbie.
@RIPSNZ about how much am i looking at for a oil pan. And with a oil pan i shouldn't have problems with any clearance since its on the bottom of the car i don't think not unless i'm overlooking anything. once i get the rb26 ordered in i might just have to order from you
Yea Mate just what I always wanted a mega buck motor that sounds like My dead assed weedwacker .. Whoope boy won't that turn some heads on cruz nite ....My sick and dying sewing machine ...How about you sit in the passenger side of say 540 cu on the last amber then tell Me which got you harder....OK MATE.
@TheRoguelement Not sure who your comments were aimed at but if you think low 7.2s / 186mph on the 1/4 with a fully water cooled streetable 182ci motor on petrol is shit then you have no respect for genuine power and getting the job done no matter what you drive.
@TheRoguelement Oh, and for your information, my dead ass weedwacker motor WON the 2010/2011 NZ drag racing championship against big american V8s, go figure!!! hahaha
your a tard. where ever you got hat 3000hp figure from, is complete crap. if your talking about car weight...its all too easy to geta light car and shove a v-8 in it. my s-10 weights 2500lbs with a v8 and me in it and i could lighten it up some more. that weights less than most ricers with a 4cyl! so, shut your trap, you dumbfuck.
@akirafactor hey dipshit, no matter what, it will always be faster, lighter, cheaper, funner, and more powerful than your pile of shit. 2670lbs WITH an iron headed v8 that you cant keep up with.
@hotrods100 ROFL Who cares what it runs. It can't turn worth shit, horrible weight distribution, and handles in a straight line. Repeat, who gives a flying fk.
@akirafactor well, it seems you do. your the one who keeps replying to me and claiming you dont care. you stupid fuckin rice love homo. thats why honda has an H for their logo, to show that the dumb fuck driving it is a homo. ohh, btw, there are several s-10's that out run and out turn your crappy lil ricer cars.
@hotrods100 Your a joke. I run 9's on a four cylinder all day long. Quit replying with your homo-erotic fantasies of what you want to do in the backseat of a Honda with ricer boys. The only thing gayer than you is your truck. Your truck is sooooooooo gay it has a bumpersticker with your S-10 getting towed in the front by a Ford and towed in the back by a Dodge. The tagline reads Chevy's go both ways. Your truck is sooooooooo gay instead of brokedown Chevy, they call it brokeback Chevy.
@hotrods100 2500lbs (1,133kgs). The lightest V8 I've seen/known is about 500Lbs (226kgs) and an UN-MODIFIED S-10 is 3200lbs (1,451kg) So, that up 500lbs (226kg)+ 3200lbs (1,451kgs)=3800lbs (1677kgs) And knowing you'll probably say "I dropped weight on the car" You would have to drop 700lbs. Ask me HOW that is possible.
@z3r0zx1 ls1 fully dressed with trans(t-56) weigh around 500lbs also depends on the s-10 the old 80 ones with the short bed and lil 4 cylinder weigh about 2800 lbs. the iron duke weighs in around 350 lbs + transmission of about 50 lbs for say the t5. so your only adding about 100 lbs with a ls1 swap.... so your at like 2900 lbs. now add say twin turbos and supporting mods another 100 lbs max... so now you have a 1500whp and a 7 second truck :P
Mikewashere, looking at your profile, your nothing but hot air with NOTHING to back up your tough man talk, anyone would think if you had what you say u have, there would be vids or pics to back it up, not just you and your lil sister cuddling on the couch. so do everyone a favour, and fark off !
Absolutly awesome.... except......You don't even have a 454 Camaro and even if you did I bet it wouldn't run mid 9s in full street trim, Its guys with menatlities like yours that I destroy at the drag strip on a regular basis, its just about 2010 pal!!!, a street 454 would have to be making around 3000hp on petrol to be making the same hp per CI as our reliable street RB30s. Now we all know that aint gunna happen pal. Do us all a favour and go talk trash somewhere else.
@RIPSNZ nice engines you got there, but i got three wordsfor you "Nelson Racing Engines" you should keep yourself updated with big blocks and small blocks TT street setups....have a good day sir!
@antipeacemilitias Yeah I've seen some of NRE, no dought they are good but we still make as good if not better hp/ci than the big TT V8s. The big V8s are the way to go for outright power no question about that but for classes where your clasified on kg/liter or lb/ci the smaller jap turbo motors have a big advantage.
@RIPSNZ HEY normally you would be correct , and yes the straight motors outflow inch per inch but check out nelson racing engines in the states they get 2500hp from TT big blocks , and its streetable and idles. But its only possible due to the 2 sets of injectors, one to idle anopther to jam . i love your work . cars are like women , beautiful in many forms thank god for variety in both. Cheers from Philadelphia, US
@toob247 Cheers for the comments, I agree its good to have variety and its nice to hear from someone who apreciates all kinds of engines. I know of Nelson and he does some real cool stuff. His 2500hp motors are big cube and on race gas, the ones on pump gas make much less than that and are way down on hp per cubic inch compared to our jap enignes. I'm still waiting to see more of his 500co qyad cam motor, seems after the block was done there's been nothing since.
Lol, yeah good spotting, we DON'T use fram filters on our engines and the one you saw is just something put on there to keep it all sealed untill we are ready to prime and start it.
noobs its nz nz = new zealand not aus u squid lol and i live in aus man and i love your work. You have the same passion for these cars if not more then i do for my r33. and its really hard to find that in a mechanic

just asking, is it possible to fit a RB25/26 into the engine bay of a '03 ford focus? I know about some bolt-on V8 conversions, but i like RBs better
