We found one of these in the desert and he just kept coming back. He wouldn't leave! He didn't seem like he was going to hurt us.

I caught a kangaroo rat taday and i live in the desert outside of san diego they are usually really nice and dont bite.

Yea with my hands, they are pretty nice if you take time to sit around and let them get comfortable with you. I live the desert in california around murrieta outside of san diego

I have admit, I'd be pretty freaked if a rat was in my house... but if he looked like this I probably wouldn't mind.

You can't get them as pets unless you go to Australia where they live. I live in Florida and we have what's called a Cotton Rat that looks alot like a grey-er version of that. I have one for a pet. If you live in the Florida region then you could get one of those.

The Giant kangaroo rat is native to California. It's primary enemy in the wild is the Kit Fox.

Oh I didn't know they lived in Texas too. I had read somewhere that they lived in Australia. They ar so cute. Your lucky to have literally thousands of them in your back yard.

yeah its pretty cool to watch 'em hop around at night. you dont see them during the day very often as they are nocturnal.
