Yes it is a new feature. At least I don't know of any other RTS that will offer a continuation of what you've built to be there for the next map.

In AoE, you play a multiplayer map, you win/lose, and in the next multiplayer map, you start building all over again. The feature Dawn of Fantasy will have is being able to continue with your city/race from where you left off in your last multiplayer map. It will import your city literally into the new game.

Looks cool enough, allthough the graphics, even with the mass of elements presented in this video, seems a bit... 2008. Now its not gonna be released until the end of this year. Makes graphic-designer feel sad :(

I don't think you'll have to pay monthly payments. But of course, we haven't even begun discussing that. The game is still far from being completed, but it is going very well. I can't wait to finish it! (I'm one of the mappers.)
