@HelpforHeroesTV..There are alot of thinga apparently that you claim aren't your fault.
The one main thing that is your fault is the Fact that You Continue to dupe and con the British public into donating money to you in the Mislead belief that if they are giving to you then you use the money to help all Veterans from WWII to the present day. I've heard many people say to people collecting for other service charities that they had already given though H4Hs.
H4H covering it's own arse again with the Disclaimer below.. The British public is very soon to learn that the wool has well and truly been pulled over their eyes for the past few years..
We would just like to make clear that this video has not been uploaded by Help for Heroes but by a member of the public and is therefore not official indorsed by the charity. It was also up loaded over a year before the charity began.
A bit confused here, this is the First Gulf War? Yes? Are not those that served in this war outside of the Help 4 Heroes remit??????????? Is it therefore not morally wrong to use this video in order to raise Funds????
i was on XV sqn during the war and remember the hurt we suffered for the first few days when we lost so many crews but luckily got some but not all of them back
I have an original copy on VHS, apparently it was compiled by some of the guys from RAF Muharraq, the copy I have also has twenty or so clips of laser guided bombs being delivered form the actual lasing aircraft.
WE knew when the war had started as the whole of the sky was filled with the constant roar of jet engines, we where located near the 'Scud Bowl' which nearly all the A10s flew out of. I was SHF(ME)

I worked on Navy A-6 Intruders, and we did exercises once with some Buccs - I always liked their weapons bay and higher speed. I also always liked the Jag's missiles on top of the wing idea. I know it's an RAF (not Royal Navy) video, but now I'm really wanting some Pusser's Rum (best rum there is, and they support the Royal Navy Sailor's fund) !

Sadly, it's an airforce the likes of which we'll probably never see again. Jags, Buccs and Victors - now all retired, along with some top-notch crews (air & ground).
The H4H plug is in bad taste. I'm sorry but what have they ever done for Gulf War 1 veterans? Any money they give to other charities is ringfenced purely for veterans post 2001! Apparently you're not a hero if you served in any conflict before then, and I'm beginning to wonder of the first Gulf War is becoming regarded as a "forgotten war" in some people's eyes. Like any war, people were killed and horribly injured, and many more suffer PTSD or the effects of the jabs they received.
I was in my last year at school during GW1, I remember rushing home at lunch and at the end of the day hoping we hadn't lost any aircraft. I had no interest in anything to do with the military up until then, I remember quite vividly how the press were trashing the government for allowing the "antiquated Buccaneer" to take part. How wrong they were, it served with distinction, and was missed hugely when it was retired from service. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, in a word... majestic
Love the song, but it's not appropriate, all members of any military understand one thing, we are all the same, we have a PROFOUND love of country and a true respect for each other. The only people who talk smack about another's military are almost always those who did not serve. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and I wish you all a speedy return home to those you love and if not, then take care of each other until you can go home.
@6digit Just a guess at what you're talking about, but that's the refueling arm used for in-flight refueling on the Buccaneers. Some are fixed. Others, on other a/c are retractable.
Help for Heroes is a great charity, but is only for service personnel from 9/11 onwards, veterans from this conflict will receive no help from H4H. THE NATIONAL GULF WAR VETERANS AND FAMILIES ASSOCIATION would be a more appropriate charity to highlight in this video.
Stevie .Spent the 2nd year of my apprenticeship building the last batch of buccs b4 moving on to Harriers and Hawks. My father spent his career on HMS Eagle keeping buccs in the air. Been around a lot of them but still give me goosepimples..........FANTASTIC!!!
wonderful video, just goes to show that with technology that isn't exactly new, we are still a force to be reckoned with. a big thank you to all our service personel for putting their life on the line for us all. 5*
No coincidence that the last Labour Govt (that managed more than a few years in power) also torpedoed the British aircraft industry. Lightnings, predicted, by a certain Defence Sec, to be the last of the piloted air defence fast jets as he took an axe, literally, to the TSR2. What a visionary.Shameful. Thanks to all Gulf War Vets` for your service.
At the time Tornados weren't equipped with the kit to "aquire" targets by laser, so as I understand, the Bucc's (a much under-rated aircraft, in my humble opinion) were used to "paint" the target whilst the GR4's deployed the ordenance. Net result: big bang, minimum collateral damage.
If I am wrong, then I bow to your superior knowledge. Does sound a bit early for GR4's. Have been in love with the Bucc since one flew across a road I was driving on at about 20 ft. Pilot even looked at me. I can even remember the colour of his helmet - white. One memory I'll take to the grave...
i'm also a big lover of the Bucc, she evokes wonderful memories of the Cranfield airshow when i was on work experience and got to sit in the navigator's seat during engine start and taxi from the apron to the flight display line. i miss her.... definatley a lady with hips like that. beautiful
This vid is made up of a lot of different takes at the time, some from TV AM, ITV and the pilots own, also not all in Bahrain, I have the extended version of the canyon sequence which was done in Saudi. The original was a TV AM outtake not to be shown but very funny
I'm American, but I'll NEVER talk shit about our Brit friends. I lived over there for years, and loved every minute of it. They're the only country that has backed us in everything that we have done. A toast to my mates across the pond. Love ya all.
@jonesy97 Good on yah mate, wish some of my Aussie brethren could have the same train of thought. Unfortunately some are way to quick to put "the yanks" down. Pisses a man off to hear it.
@bluedog1976 Right back at ya! Unfortunatly, a lot of the time, the criticizm is deserved. I, however, am envious as hell of all Aussies. You guys still have my beloved F-111's still in service! Got room down under for a really good weapons loader?
@spacemutt1978 Clearly, not our finest hour. The inability to wrangle in Nasser left Eisenhower with few options. Besides, that was 54 years or so ago. You're not still holding a grudge, are you? We're sorry.
@ramson88 Much love to the Aussies, as well! You're still flying my favorite jet on this planet today,(at least until December) the F-111. I worked on them for years, and love that jet more than any other. Thank you, Australia, for keeping the pig flying for so long now. We'll always be allies.
I have lots of Good Friends state side, vast majority forces, which means Brothers in arms until the day I die, all they have to do is call and I am there.

@percy127 If you get called before I do, then give ME a call, and I'll fight with you! You said it all, my friend! I could never ask for better trained, physically and mentally tough, and loyal allies than the military of Great Britian!
Well said, I am still surving in the RAF only as it pays the mortgage, I hardly know any one who is still in for the love of it. Many thanks for slashing the RAF down to a token force.
Loving this! Proper old school. RAF Buccaneer's and Jaguars and even Victor Tankers... Proper fuckin planes! RIP... They must have been a sight to see in those days. We still have the Tornado's and TriStars but it won't be long before they are gone too ...
Hi Lancia. Rolling Stones; Shelter, (that's what they're doing for us,) would have been better.
BTW; I'm Ex Mob and totally agree with your comment about Defence Cuts. I spent lots of time in many different Countries; It was (mainly) fun, (yeah, we also had a job to do.) Most of the places I went to don't exist for the RAF anymore. (Gan, Luqa, Masirah, etc.)
yeah we are, Americans are pussys, u guys so that video when the chinook was transporting soldiers to iraq and one of th americans vomited in the chopper lol
buccaneer aircraft are just...... wow, also the desert storm jag with the topside sidewinders just exite me lol, British aircraft always seem to have so much character.
Apart from in the early years of the Pacific War 1941-42 of course, when they were often up against odds of 15:1 against much better planes and pilots. But don't let history get in the way of a good flag-waving exercise ;)
I believe that all middle eastern countries should try to become closer to eachother, if we colaborate togathere I think we can reduce the problem of terrorism in the world
sorry I don't want to offend Bahrain. if some one dear to attack our neighbour we will defend it . at least I guess, but I'm wondering where these guys come from.
You're the bitch, our bitch! we will pound and pound the middle east as long as we care. You are at the mercy of the west and you can't do nothing about it! If we want, we can make a glass crater out of your lands - but first the oil must be over.
looool thank you for responding the way I want. I just wanna see how much hate you have inside ur heart toward other people. bloodthirsty pigs. Stop living in fantasies you pig.. and will see who is going to suck the other dry at the end!
and you are from a fucked up isolated island, so shut the fuck up and go get some tourists a pack of lobesters, some wine, and prepare your sister for some pounding later at night while u r dancing some "culture" hoshe wawa wagana looool...
goldeneagle26 you are a fucking twat. Royal Air Force pilots are the best in the world bar none. They'll be coming to drop bombs on your poz real soon. Kiss my patriotic arse tou pig fucker
man the awesome thing about western countries that no fanatics like u can reach power. poeple who reach power yet bloodthirsty sometimes, but are rational and wise... continue fantasying and wishing on youtube looooool
the 1990s were great years for the RAF. even though it is rather old it was a giant leap backwards to retire the buccaneer and also it was a great shame to see the jaguar go earlier this year. in the early nineties we still had the phantom as well but we had to scrap that as well. the handley page victor was also a great tanker aircraft. Now the RAF is hardly english at all it's turned into the euro. We can fend for ourselves you know we don't need german or american help to do that!
they dont need them.. the royal navy are getting them in replacement to the harrier, the tornado is being taken over by the eurofighter.. there would simply be no place for the raptor in the RAF.
Who says only Yanks paint nose art?...The RAF aircraft in both gulf wars have some of the best examples of the type I have seen....especially the Gr. 1 and Gr. 4 pilots
To those who keep saying, "This isn't Bahrain", well durr...They took off from Bahrain and flew missions to Iraq. Do you think they would just fly round and round Bahrain? Jeeezuuuzz!!
Thanks for pointing that out, Amero. Every newspaper, book, tv-documentary in the world till now told Israel was the winner of the 1973 war and Egypt LOST BIG TIME. But now we al know better thanks to you.

Shame you have to use a "Yank" song! Amazing Vid though.
HippyJohnWales 3 years ago
HippyHohnWales: Lmao, have you ever seen the lead singer of Whitesnake? He's more English than James Bond.
LanciaS4 3 years ago
Lancia; Yeah, I know, but this song is hardly in the traditions of Great British Rock. It's more like West Coast American Pussy Rock.
Happy Christmas to All Our Troops.
HippyJohnWales 3 years ago
Yeah, but Whitesnake are still from England. :P
LanciaS4 3 years ago

Reminds me of "Team America".

its ok he knows that his young men didnt have to shoot down their young men at a rate of 4:1
GGSwilliejones 3 years ago
eh, what u tryin to say there
SpitfireUK2 3 years ago
im saying that historically yank pilots have never been put up against such bad odds as the brits
GGSwilliejones 3 years ago
Apart from in the early years of the Pacific War 1941-42 of course, when they were often up against odds of 15:1 against much better planes and pilots. But don't let history get in the way of a good flag-waving exercise ;)
Pruzkipper 3 years ago
ok apart from then :)

You're the bitch, our bitch! we will pound and pound the middle east as long as we care. You are at the mercy of the west and you can't do nothing about it! If we want, we can make a glass crater out of your lands - but first the oil must be over.

I'd actually say the RAF, Israeli and the very top (they've got so many) american pilots are the best.,
wank0r 3 years ago
the 1990s were great years for the RAF. even though it is rather old it was a giant leap backwards to retire the buccaneer and also it was a great shame to see the jaguar go earlier this year. in the early nineties we still had the phantom as well but we had to scrap that as well. the handley page victor was also a great tanker aircraft. Now the RAF is hardly english at all it's turned into the euro. We can fend for ourselves you know we don't need german or american help to do that!

The RAF needs to buy some F-35 Joint Strike Fighters.
kevinkeay0382 4 years ago
they dont need them.. the royal navy are getting them in replacement to the harrier, the tornado is being taken over by the eurofighter.. there would simply be no place for the raptor in the RAF.
ninnus06 4 years ago 2
The F-35 isn't the raptor, the F-22 is. The F-35 Lightining II is an off-shoot of the 22.
