@Louise14834 Tortoises need a wide variety of fruits, vegetables & supplements in their diet. Of course it would be unhealthy if they only eat lettuce, but I also feed them carrots for extra vitamin A, fruit, hibiscus flowers & leafs, weeds & dandelions, etc. Lettuce has a good percentage of water & vitamin A, so there's no problem with it.
@TheBoaConstrictor9 good i'm glad that isn't true because they love the stuff! oh and it turns out they love savoy cabbage seeing as they joined us for dinner last night!
@Louise14834 I actually don't recommend feeding them cabbage. It has no nutritional value. It can also absorb calcium in their system. Just stick to the dark stuff.
Those can grow large n really old they r pretty cool thanks for the sub subbed bak n the answer to ur questions get then young grow with ur snake n depending on how big u want it to get male or female n there humidity is wat the house is wen there in shed I do add a moisture box other than that they r OK n don't need high humidity never had a shed problem
@JustAnotherDrummerJG Well, simply because they're awesome haha. Basically, pyramiding is when they are deficient in calcium & their shells get the shape of pyramids. It's pretty bad because it weakens their shells. They beci\ome brittle.
@MsGra94 Well lucky for me, Greek tortoises are really, really cheap where I live so I can have a lot. I bought my golden Greeks for less than $30. If you want then I can raise one & ship it to you. Europe isn't too far.
they say that tortoises shouldn't eat lettuce because its more water than anything else....

@89mc01 Yeah, they get to a nice size. I've got a giant Aldabra that I rescued from the zoo a month or so ago.
Thank you so much! I'll keep that in mind.
