Yummm. My DH is from Louisiana...I will have to see what he thinks. In case anyone can't find file powder, you can use okra, if you can tolerate it (or if your band can tolerate it!) Just throw a handful in the pot and let them cook til very soft.
@IdaraD LOL that was cute, I just try not to be afraid of my kitchen, I tell my bestie that all the time. Just get in there and be creative, you'll surprise yourself :))
@jella876 :)) It was, I need to figure out how to go back and make some of this stuff again, I just keep going on to something new. I need to start repeating :))
another winner! I have to cut and paste your list-- thank you and then watch the video with word open and keep typing along the directions! you know I must love your recipes!!! the calabaicta was yummy last night! I am having a party this fall- think this is what I will make!
@cabernetqueen Hmmm, I've gone back and forth with these recipe videos. I'll do better about adding the ingredients and directions to the description box :) I'm glad you enjoy the vids. I think this would be great at a party.
Hi miss Tamika i wanted to no can i buy the frozen shrimp that is at walmart or should i buy fresh at the market i want to make this tomorrow thanks for sharing your wonderful receipt love your friend Connie :0)
I love your videos. You are a real inspiration to me. I was banded on Jan.8, 2010 and got off to a slow start. After discovering you I really started taking it serious and the weight started to come off. I love your recipes. They are something my entire family can eat. Questions: What is Quinoa? What food group/family is it in? Can it be found in almost any grocery store?
@deltalady27 Thank you so much for the kind words!!! Quinoa (pronounced “keen-wa”) is a seed originally grown in South and Central America, with some of the crop now grown in Canada. Quinoa has a high protein value; complete with all eight of the essential amino acids needed for tissue development in humans. It is also an above average source of vitamins and minerals. Quinoa is free of gluten and is a good source of fiber.
@deltalady27 You should be able to find it in most grocery stores if not in healthfood stores. I purchase mine at Trader Joe's. Remember to rinse it really well in a strainer before cooking. You can cook it with broth and added spices or just water. I use it in the place of rice, it's healthier and it's rich in protein. My 10 yr old like it in the morning as a hot cereal. She'll use plan quinoa with milk, splenda, cinnamon & vanilla. - Tamika
