you eat 1200 cals, but do you eat processed foods? sugar makes us tired as you know. even eating meat can clog us up & make us lazy. I dont think its a question of too little cals, but what are the calories made up of? do you take vits? B complex is so important! Sam-e is a natural supplement to help depression, I use Doctors' Best brand but you have to take a B complex with it. dont give up keep pushing towards your goal, slow & steady wins the race.
@mshealthfirst - Nope, no processed foods. No sugar, no refined carbs, no yucky stuff. That is why I am confused as to why I am so tired and lethargic. It's weird! I also don't take any vitamins, but am thinking of taking B vitamins! Thanks so much hun! :D
You're not eating enough. I quit logging my eating cals for awhile on mfp but I add it up in my head. If I eat 1200 or less I feel like crap even if I dont work out that day and ate healthy. I average eat 1500-1600 and can do intense workouts and feel great
@layc21 - the last time I felt like this, I went to the doctor and they didn't even check my blood. Then I started eating more and I felt much better, so I really don't know what to do. I guess I am just going to have to figure out what my body needs. That is what sucks about losing weight the most! :D
I don't think your calories are too low personally... I think 1200 is a good amount of calories to aim for when trying to lose weight, and I don't typically count my exercise calories cuz that's just bonus! Lol as far as energy I think if you start taking vitamin b complex with b12 you would notice a difference! I've found this whole weight loss journey is an emotional one as well so I think it's normal to have the ups and downs :). Just keep moving forward :)
@2fabfromfat - I spoke with a trainer/nutritionist at my gym and she said everything was great, only I need to not get my heart rate up as much while exercising and to break it down to only 3 days a week and never in a row! Hopefully that will make a huge difference. I just still can't see how I can be so tired a week after still. Thanks hun!
this is just my opinion but yes your calorie intake is too low!! esp if your going to the gym every day!! gosh I eat 1250 calories a day but im only 5 feet and weigh 123 pds
@loganava1 - wow! I just spoke to a trainer at the gym and she told me I am eating enough, but I just need to tone down how much I am working out if I am not just doing cardio. She also told me that I am getting my heart rate up way too high and that is burning me out as well and possibly I am burning muscle instead of building lean muscle. Not good :(
It sounds like you're not getting enough calories for the amount of exercise you are doing. My doctor told me that women should not go under 1200 calories a day or your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto fat instead of losing it. I'll send you a link for a daily caloric calculator that explains things well. You're doing an amazing job! Don't get discouraged!
that's a great weight loss! as for exercises and being tired, it could be you're not eating enough on the days you work out. get a consult from a nutritionist? some gym days,im bouncing off the walls with energy, other days, i just want to go to sleep. ups and downs bebe.first couple weeks till your body gets used to it, you will feel tired. Im on week 4 just doing cardio. first 2 weeks, i=exhaustion. it takes 2-3 weeks of cardio to gain your endurance back. but only 7 days to lose endurance.
@BellaSparkles1 - Thanks so much! I actually just called and talked to a personal trainer at the gym I go to and she said the amount of calories is just fine for needing to lose weight, but that I don't need to work out as intense or as many days. She told me only 3 days a week and that's it. Thanks so much for the info! Very informative! :D
I know exactly what you mean about being able to run full force, 100% one day and then the next day hardly being able to drag myself out of the bed. Do you use any kind of vitamin supplements or other medications? I know if I'm on the ball with taking my B-vitamins I feel so much better, exercise or not.
You could always try to up your calories for a couple of weeks just to see if it helps you feel more energized. Good luck, Jill!
@lcmurphy418 - It's horrible. I was taking B vitamins, but then stopped taking them. Maybe I should take them again? I don't know. I am definitely going to up my calories and if I don't lose any weight, then I can just decrease them again, especially if I don't feel any better. Makes me wonder how in the world the Biggest Loser people do it.
your doing great! i have too get a new scale. it keeps saying im 170 but the doctor told me another. im on the fitness pal but not keeping up like i should. keep up the great work!!!!
@sexychickie07 - Wow! That is AWESOME!!!! Good for you!!!! Whatever works for you, is what works for you and whatever you are doing is obviously working! So awesome!
You are probably right about your calories being too low. With all the exercising you have been doing you may need to increase your calories a bit. Make sure you feed your body enough so you can keep up with your amazing progress! Be encouraged, you are doing a fantastic job :)
@OurInnerBeauty1 - I am wondering how much my net calories that I take in should be? That is my main concern I guess. Maybe if it's under 1200 I won't function like I should. I will have to test some things again! Lol! Thanks so much sweetie!

Maybe you aren't getting enough iron....I know that tiredness and those kind of symptoms can be caused by an iron deficiency.
