Great product but shitty fucking customer service. My toilet had a defect, and I couldn't get an answer as to whether or not my particular toilet had an issue or if it was a shitty design. Filled out forms on website, phoned customer service, sent emails, absolutely no response. The lady on the phone was an absolute twit that probably didn't even know what company she was working for. I fixed the problem myself with a piece of string. In addition the logo on the bowl was put on crooked.
not imprest. if it could flush a load of my crap i would be inprest. i have yet to sit on a toilet that can take, the loads i nominally dump. even a public rest room toilet. i once plugged one of throws to. my load can get bigger then that load of 11 water wigglers. I've had turds bigger then throws water wigglers. harder to.
@TheSlamminSammie they need to quit breaking into my home and useing my toilet those where my water wigglers and my food but not i have no phone ughhhhh i need money from them ill break their company cuz of their dumbness
I have a quick question, I am about to buy 2 of this bowls, my question is:
How high is the water level after a flush? I noticed in the video that the water level in the bowl is nice when you drop items in, but after flushing the water level is very low... How do you get the water level to be as it is before dropping the items? Does it do it by itself? of do you manually open the flapper a bit to refill?
@bajacapt The water level in my toilets does rise to what is shown in the video as they flush test each item. It may take about 15 to 20 seconds after you flush to reach that level again, but nothing needs to be be done regarding the flapper.
@Algonquin Thanks for reply. after some further reading I ended up buying the American Standard Champion 4, great bowls, no doubt, happy with purchase ;)
Why dont you show a massive poo? im telling you that im not going to have a bunch of water wigglers or golf balls in my ass. Where's the feces american standard?
Sooo... The toilet flushes it, but it would then seem likely to clog in the waste piple in the basement. Or, does this guy generate enough force to blow the cap off my septic tanks? ;)
l always think of Jenning's Pedestal Vase-a loo of the late 1880s.They flushed a sponge,10 apples,3 air vessels, plumber's grease coated all over the pan,and it all went down.Mr Shanks flushed an apprentice's hat down one of his models while testing it,and that went too!
@AG3304 I happen to have tested one those Pedestal Vase's a few weeks ago with the same sort of test, sadly we could not find the plumbers grease to smear on the pan, it took the 10 apples, air vessels and sponge down with no trouble what to ever, I believe I have a video somewhere, send me a message if you want to see it!
look, I'm a plumber and I spend a lot of time snaking sewers and clearing clogged toilets. You would NOT believe what some people try and flush. Cell phones ain't s**t so to speak. I commend these companies for designing and re-designing something that is a simple device that was originally deigned for TWO very simple reasons. The consumer has made the demand on the mfg. Complain all you want, try and knock their claims but really the only things that should be flushed are human waste and TP.
@RedAndBlackPacman The cell phones no longer worked and were donated by employees. The testing is done in rig that is not hooked up to a sewage ssytem (it goes into a bucket afterward.) The food is expired food from a local supermarket and is also re-used when possible.
Hmmm... look at the water level in the bowl after a fush, and look at it when they after items to flush... they were adding water to the bowl to assist with each flush.
Is this really a true test of what the unit can do? I just purcased this model as a replacement for our aging toilets, and now I'm just realizing how this video was done.
@Algonquin This test was performed by an engineer in a controlled setting that replicates specific water amounts for flushing. The difference you may see in water level are because of editing out of footage to shorten the video (specifically not waiting for it to fully refill.) The water spot used in testing is consistent for every flush, the refills were cut out to save time.
@AmericanStandard01 Apologies... the water level does slowly rise to what is shown in the video, and was just a result of editting to speed up the video. I've installed 3 in my home to replace the aging units, and each one does an excellent job.
@Notorious346 We've used tissue before and I believe the Champion 4 flushed about 150 ft. in one flush. Not sure on the exact number. Would the tissue be balled up or just dumped in?
this toilet is becomming too common :| but i have the Cadet II RF from 1997. nice toilet >_> I am thinking about the H2Option for our front bathroom [i have to get meh mom to get a toilet first] these days cant handle a weak 1983/1982 American Standard Plebe EL
As a test I actually have a few of these at work and if you overfill the tank it actually seems to flush worse than it does with less water around the correct level, None the less a great toilet. I still would choose the champion 4 over this though.
this was impressive, not a big fan of american standard but this was absolutely impressive. I wish A.S. would design some toilets like this for Crane Plumbing or at least slap a crane badge on them, i would buy one in a second then.
