I met Carlson last week when he visited my university. To say that he doesn't have an agenda is ridiculous. Everyone is biased in there own way even if only subconsciously. He told us that he thought of himself as middle class and something to the effect of not having an agenda. He says that to be relatable and to get people to listen to him because he's an intelligent guy. Obviously, he's not in that tax bracket and he definitely is biased towards Republicans but he doesn't blindly follow.

I wouldn't toss around the term "real" conservative because it's pretty arrogant and parallel to what she said about the "real America". She's very far right anyway. However, I definitely think that many conservatives voted against McCain because of his pick of Palin. I don't think they thought she wasn't conservative enough; many just watched her interviews and realized that she didn't seem to know much about many of the issues.
