  • Does that intersection have Opticoms? Just curious, 'cause I noticed the lights changing frequently when you panned toward the intersection.

  • my i love the Q and power call

  • 3:30 - California Steady Burn

  • We have to Blast q at any intersection

  • $1.86 for gas i wish it was still that low

  • 9:17 ha nice he went about 60 threw that red light

  • hello fmartinjr, i have a question in relation to this vid. There was a point where you mentioned the correct use of the Federal Q siren where the siren's peak high pitch sound was not reached rather it was a simple (and agreeably) effective simple rise and fall in the pitch of the siren. When the second engine came around which i think is a ladder, the siren was taken to the max pitch. My question is, is it necessary to always peak the siren or just as the situation requires such as in traffic.

  • @rgp2130 First, thanks for commenting.Secondly, the siren's(federal"Q") effective signal(s) is really hard to achieve depending on many factors. Those include, traffic and stationary structure density, land layout(hills and leveled ground),wind speed and direction of flow, and humidity. And of course the siren operator's activation patterns.Mechanical is 10 x's louder than electrical. But the answer to your question is,no it's not always a need for siren peeks.

  • @rgp2130 con't:Siren peaks on a "Q" are great when approaching an intersection but letting it start to coast just before entering.Peaks are great when 2 units are one behind the other,as long as 1 unit is doing taps or activations that scream the"Q" just before the point of peak. The mid point pitch when the "Q" is climbing is the most penetrable.

  • @rgp2130 not to butt in but the Q can be used in serveral ways like he said, for exaple the first engine kept the Q going constantly, letting uk hes there, but in other cases really letting it wind up along with air horns to clear or "bust" and intersection

  • miss those gas prices!

  • 3:10 is where my dog starts to howl lol always makes me lol

  • Nice

  • I agree with bnsf4. 16-5's horns are beautifully tuned. Perfect just the way they are. One of my many favorite parts of the video!

  • at 8:18 is where the great horn action is!

  • @bnsf4 I agree homey. For a recently built rig those horns are on point. Not just the length of acitvation but the tone and pitch.

  • @fmartinjr my town got a new pumper/rescue, and the horn is deafening and WAAAAY out of tune, it sounds squeaky and just plain bad, they need to get them fixed OR just get new ones that are tuned correctly.

  • Could have made your 10 min. video a 3 min. video if you had left out the dead BS.

  • @box15c22 Or even better,I could keep doing things on here like I've been doing. Because my 10 minute video shows the the recording viewpoint of a fire fighter. From listening to the radio, additional tones dropping, hearing sirens from a distance until they reach the recording point. And with the amount of individual units captured here,it would be well over a 3 minute video. So if it were a clip of highlights, then it would be at least a 3 minute video.I'll see how much better yours are then mine.

  • @box15c22 Secondly, you have NO videos but still said my video has dead BS?

10-4 on that.Would've been a better comment leaving out "dead BS".It's ok though.

  • i love this video, but dude what the hell is up with the place he lives i mean god so many things happing it fucking crazy.

  • @blackdeath727 Come again buddy...What's up with what?

  • @fmartinjr Did i say something wrong cause i really dont think so all i said was its fucked up how so many video's u got lol i mean alot of stuff must happen where your from kk.

  • @blackdeath727 Nooo,I was asking what's up sincerely. We're cool,I'm in no way attacking you.Maybe my lack of punctuation mislead how I was asking.I wasn't sure if you meant the response areas or the amount of calls. So with all being said, you did nothing wrong. And yeah, with Delaware being so small we see a lot of calls.Being between 2 major metros(Philly and Baltimore) helps.

  • @fmartinjr Oh ok lol.do you still make any new video's?

  • @blackdeath727 Every now and then.I've been so busy lately that I miss a lot.

  • @fmartinjr Ah ok thats cool

  • 7:33-8:50 amazing!!!

  • @bronxkidd23 Word em' up!

  • Q Siren + Jake Brake = Sweetness

  • @kcartersta60 The sounds of Sweetness is right.

  • Can you say....wacker

  • @axeman6032 I got your wacker you sucka duck.Just watch my videos and add on to the count. If I'm a wacker than so is your momma, and you too for clicking on my title, dumb dick. Thanks for stopping by.

  • guy at 8:39 was about to get hit by the fire truck he was going to turn into it like a dumbass

  • At time mark 7:33 is the blazin-est air horns. The pitch, pressure and volume is hard and right on point

  • hell yea

  • This is the best video on YouTube

  • The "Q's" sound great but the best accompaniment siren would have to be a Carson. They have the loudest and smoothest warble tone. Best I liked was 9:15min

  • powercall is annoying

  • OK.Some don't like it and a whole lot do!Obviously more that do than don't.

    But thanks for your opinion.

  • your welcome no offense but alot of the departments down here such as mine do not use it for what reason idk

  • @MrFuckdisshit

power call rules the streets !!!

  • whats the one at 6:00 thats my fav

  • Belvedere,Delaware Squrt 30

  • That is the Q siren or Q2B or "federal siren"

  • beautiful ladder truck at 3:31

  • Aesome vid! Whats the siren at 3:24-3:40 thats mixed in with the "Q"?

  • woops accedentaly spelled awesome

  • The remake of the classic GE power-call electronic siren. A heavily used east coast/Mid-Atlantic electric Siren.Brought back to popular use, thanks to yours truly!

  • Nice Video!

The Powercall on that tiller sounds like its kinda broken.

Put more tags like powercall federal q fire trucks etc...

  • ok, how do steer the rear-end of a tiiller-rig? i've heard you swing the opposte direction of the front wheels and the swing back with them, is that right?

  • I never tillered.But that's how they say it s done

  • Don't let the rest of the group hear that.

  • you suck.. its stupid to be saying stupid shit like that.. why dont you let the fire house know. im sure they will remiove it because some wanna be cop doesnt like it.

  • Screw you honkey

  • that damn bitch never pulled over for the ems,on the bigging of the video, isnt you supose to pull over

  • I agree with your comment at 1:10 ish. Technique is everything when running an elwecro-mechanical siren!!

    Wicked TDA on the ramp!!

  • why would 17 Truck turn off the fake powercall going up the ramp ................gay. I miss u frankie luv

  • I miss you too brother.I'm just doing my own thing for a while.I was thinking about you when this came in and was expecting you to be on my ass with the Hahn Flash on.

  • cause its not needed when your doing 60 on a highway with no red lights. a Q is enough

  • Nice video!! Nice Tiller too!!!

  • great video frank!!

  • What's the data on Ladder 17?

  • Truck 17 was an all Maxim I believe from the early 70's,open tractor cab, open tiller cab. Both cabs were fully enclosed later unknown date.Areodynic lightbar was added, chrome wheel covers added,Pierce lance six man cab added, scotchlite added, and lastly,LTI trailer added 2006.

  • haha rescue 14 haulin some madd ass!! haha and when was the fire?

  • man i went to that wreck. it was bad

  • Excellent video bro!

  • Thanks for the confirmation.

If you don't mind, may I ask who this is?

If it's not comfortable here, could you send it to me in personal mail. Thanks, fmartinjr from Newport.

  • Man, I knew I should have crawled out of bed for that run. Was sick, so I figured I wouldn't be much help. Thanks for the video!

  • nice video frank very nice

  • Awesome video. at the end is that a cop or a firefighter?

  • I was wondering that myself.I'm guessing a Fire Marshall.Being that Delaware Law prohibits the use of lights and siren unless the unit is police or Fire chief

  • Got ya. thanks for the quick reply. Also not trying to sound like a monday morning quarterback but that last rescue that goes by the white one didn't seem to slow at all for that red light. I don't know what the intersection is like there but seems like they should have at least slowed down a little. Gotta get to the fire safe to be any help.

  • Yeah,it seemed a little too fast for the intersection with a red signal but it is an open corner.Maybe the rig driver saw more than we viewers suspect.I don't know bro.

  • yea that's what i figured. i know it's always hard to tell on the video's we post. I am sure he could see and make the right judgement.
