The cost of ammo has changed the shoot somewhat- but not as much as you would think. People still dump belts and magazines down range. Many have large stock piles from when it was 10 cents a round. Others eat, drink and talk more than they shoot. Still a fun get-together.
Yes. Dry Creek was produced by three key people. Two of those now produce the MGSHOOTERS LLC Big Sandy shoot, held in March and October. I work as "staff" for these shoots and have my own firearms. Many of the shooters from Dry Creek attend this event.
Okay, I found my disc, it's a band called Seether and the song is called "Pig" from the 2002 CD "Disclaimer" ... They say they remixed that CD in 2004 and called it "Disclaimer II" but I didn't pick it up. If you Google search, you'll find a few versions of the song on YouTube without all the shooting.
I wish I could remember. I put this together about 5 years ago. So much metal since then. The edit master with the full song has been deleted. I'll hunt around and see if I can find it. I think I burned a "Songs Of DC-2003" disc before I hit delete, but who knows where that disc is now?
Was he concerned about a proper backstop? It's one thing to shoot shot into shore brush, cat tails and over open water, and something different with 7.62x51 - Here in the desert, we had miles of open isolation and a feeder pond to use with a back berm. It is a hoot to shoot rifle rounds in water, though.
