  • Tanning what would have been awesome? If the rocketeer had appeared in the captain America movie, they were directed by the same person but then again marvel doesn't own the rights

  • i remember watching this film with my mum when i was little. how i wish i could live those days again :)

  • Would be some nice stuff for a 3D remake.

  • this looks like jingle all the way

    "JAMIE!" "It's me your fawdda!"

  • Lookng back this was a really cool movie, and kind of original considering it was before the glut of comic book and graphic novel-based movies. Plus you can never fail with Nazis as bad guys.

  • the early version of Iron Man

  • man o man, that john locke just keeps showing up in the most peculiar places

  • congratulation !!! u ve just watched the movie in 2:19 mins :D !!!!

  • How is it that his ass doesn't burn off 'cause of the exhaust flame?

  • For some reason this reminds me of what Iron Man in the 1930's would be like.

  • DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO

  • Great Movie!

  • These effects put Transformers to shame.

  • WTF? I thought this movie was about a guy who ate rocks!

  • Im thinking EPIC SEQUEL!! WITH TOM WELLING!!!

  • the director just made the Captain America movie.

  • thumbs up if you it will be remake with Seth Rogen write it and play as Cliff

  • the first movie of Jennifer Connolly...still as beautiful as then...

  • @mmarcela21 actually she was in Labyrinth

  • @mmarcela21 Her debut was Labyrinth when she was around 14.

  • @mmarcela21 Connelly was already a huge star, remember Labyrinth, The Hot Spot, Career Oportunities.

  • I was obsessed with rocketeer when I was little

  • @the44118 I still am!

  • I like how at 1:05 he puts his left leg directly into the exhaust flame!

  • This blew my mind when I was a little kid.

  • Surprised this hasn't been remade by now.

  • Nice movie.. great cast! But.. where can I found the song of the trailer?? It's amazing!!!

  • The same director of Captain America First Avenger.. (Great soundtrack! Faraway 1991).

  • 00:20 "It was stolen from my hatch."

  • why is the sound so shitty?

  • My favorite movie quote came from this movie. Scene where Valentine realizes that the main bad guy (Nevel St. Claire? it has been years since I saw this movie last) is a Nazi and Valentine states: "I may not make an honest buck, but I'm 100% American and I don't work for no two bit Nazi. Let her go." (I might have a word or two wrong but the meaning is the same.)

  • I remember this movie the character Frankenstein still creeps me out

  • Happy 20th Anniversary! Love this movie!

  • Bill Campbell was actually a very good actor, too bad he fell off the radar after this movie......

  • The original Iron Man

  • I remember playing the video game for this movie on the original NES, or maybe the super NES. Those were the days.

  • Its a good movie..... it was great book.....its a shame Dave Stevens, the creator of The Rocketeer is not around.

  • They should make a sequel or two now

  • OHH, now i know, those other ppl might have meant to find the song rocketeer

  • juss saw that it was made 4 years ago LOLOL

  • If there's any film that deserves a remake it's this one! It had great story, awesome characters, and took us way beyond the realms of imagination.

  • @Scoonertuna wow you were right Robert it was Awsome.

  • @makosharkman Have you ever seen it?

  • @Scoonertuna im not sure i might have years ago

  • @Scoonertuna No! They'll ruin it with a remake... they'll try to fancy it all up and put effects ahead of atmosphere and story. This movie may not be my favorite movie, but it is PERFECT... everything in this movie was exactly right for what the movie was and I'd hate to see some crappy remake.

  • "Oh come on, Eddie. Does it matter who I work for?"

"It does to me. I may not make an honest buck, but I'm 100% American. And I don't work for no two-bit Nazi. Let her go."

    ^LOVE that line.

  • does anyone know where the music from the second half of this trailer is from it doesn't sound like it was in the movie.

  • it's the old version of iron man~

  • holy shit.it was stolen from john locke's factory.nobody steals from loke cause locke will always fuck you up

  • Old Ironman :D

  • i love this movie too

  • Looking at this makes me think about Iron-Man....

  • I was reading an old Archie comic book and one of the ads in was this movie lol

  • Look at the 'stache on Locke.

  • I saw this movie at age 17 in the theater and looking at this trailer now I think they could have done a better job on the trailer than this.

  • I saw this movie when I was like 5 years old, can't remember a thing about just that it was awesome. Gotta see it again though.

  • i can't believe ive never seen this, or even knew it existed until a few years ago

  • My favorite childhood movie. I still watch it today

  • Yeah, that was back when trailers really showed you the ENTIRE film in ORDER of scenes...

  • Not bad for a pre-Iron Man world flick. :)

  • Sigh, this movie is an echo of a time when ordinary people could dream that science could make the truly fantastic. Things like jetpacks, and weather control and cities FULL of awesome mile high skyscrapers with docking columns for airships. Now I'm not saying that science still can't deliver on the wonders(far from it), but the public's imagination these days can't seem to go beyond a video phone with a 5G network. It's a little sad :(

  • @Mandelbrotmat well said.

  • @Mandelbrotmat God did you say a mouthfull! I agree completely, anytime i'm in town now or out for a walk all 'trendy' people seem to be doing is staring into a cell/mobile phone. That seems to be the be all & end all now, I often wonder is there a plan to completely dumb the sheep down & leave them dreamless & uncreative 'cuz if there is it's worked. It's 2011 & lets face it we are leaving in a very souless world, the amazing things we seen in old sci-fi movies have not happened.

  • @Mandelbrotmat I have to disagree. :/

  • @fairyslight That's cool. The best part is that someone who would disagree with words like that usually do so because such a statement could never apply to them. If you do still dream of the fantastic, I'm glad. :)

  • @Mandelbrotmat I have to say, that is possibly the sweetest and most well-put response I've ever gotten from someone I've disagreed with. You made my day. :) May we continue to believe in the fantastic for a long time coming.

  • @Mandelbrotmat Look up Elon Musk. There are still dreamers

  • @Mandelbrotmat

"jetpacks" done,( you need wings for jet pack balance, you don't have to be a genius to figure that out Hollywood...

weather control isn't exactly impossible, its just impossible to harness the same amount of energy to counter what nature can dish out, without us being in a loss.

  • @mohab18 Hey, moron! This is an adaptation of the comic book and the designs are based on the book. The whole film is trying to capture an essence of 40's pulp science fiction... doesn't take a genius to figure that out... so stop trying to be all smug and shut the hell up.

  • @UncleMilo

alright I didn't mean to ruin your childish comic book days that you still check up on as an adult.

  • @Mandelbrotmat

anything is possible if you have $

"high skyscrapers with docking columns for airships" for what purpose?also done and its easily manageable

  • @Mandelbrotmat You said it!

  • @Mandelbrotmat I disagree, we live in a time where this movie is a reality:

    jetman.com

    This guys rocks!

  • @Mandelbrotmat Wow, you hit the nail on the head. Science Fiction has turned against progress, telling us that every advance will be our downfall and that our hubris at trying to control nature will destroy the world. Bollocks, I say. Science and technology have improved our lives in every way possible, but everyone thinks the next step will "go to far". Let's bring back some excitement about technology, because-seriously-I want my bloody jetpack.

  • @Mandelbrotmat Yeah, but look how far we have COME! Dwarves on the shoulders of Giants. . .

  • @Mandelbrotmat

Truelly is, now Anime and Manga lead the way! Like SteamBoy as just an example! The world of the future, science and wonder is one that is fortold by the few, created by the strange and shunned by many. Thumb ME up if you still want a glimpse into a future that is filled with marvels both strange and possible, politics be DAMNED!

  • @Mandelbrotmat - So well put I wish I could give ten thumbs up!

  • @Mandelbrotmat It's because our Liberal government won't let us dream big or build high

    - remember, it hurts the environment. Also, wealthy people don't have the right to keep their money and invest in amazing inventions like these. OOO, one more thing, don't forget about the horde of regulations you have to pass!

  • @Mandelbrotmat The movie was based on the gorgeous looking comic series form the 80s. The artist, Dave Stevens, passed away, but please check out his work. The art work is amazing. No movie could do it justice, but this film tried its best. I respect it for that.

  • @MacMaraScott So do you my friend, so do you.

  • omg JOHN LOCKE!!!!

  • she´s like the rocketer; everyone was in but none admits it !

  • Thats not a trailer, thats an abridged movie. I don't need to see it now.

  • @Shabba3k haha I understand what you mean. They did reveal a lot in that trailer sadly. Great movie though.

  • i call for a remake

  • @TTNhir0 dont you know that remakes always ruin ? i think it will be best not to remake

  • It's so awesome that this director is the one doing CAPTAIN AMERICA

  • @InuvikPhil really????

  • LETS FLYYYYY

  • I forgot about that movie!!! it was one of my favorites!!! loved it!

  • omg we saw this at the drive in when i was a kid - even the trailers back then look epic now

  • watched this last night for the first time in like 17 yrs. time really flies by.

  • THIS MOVIE LOOKS COOL

  • they dont make good movies like this one anymore. its a damn shame.

  • When stupid people need a thrill

They rent the rocketeer- family guy

  • John Locke with hair and a little mustache

  • lol is the early version of iron man in the 40's

  • I was just watching this on tv. Its awesome! They so should have made a sequel to it. I guess in a way, the director Joe Johnston is making a spiritual sequel in the Captain America movie but I guess not really. Still though. I got to watch this movie in full again. Right up there with Indiana Jones and Sky Captain

  • I've got to watch that movie again.

  • here just watched the movie...thats right just watched it!, I remember I saw something about a guy with a rocket when I was a kid but never much listen anything out of Batman stuff, just recently got a bunch of old SNES and one of the games was The Rocketeer, and after playing it I got attracted to the comic and much more to the movie :), was Amazing!, like many of the 80 and 90's movies, and now the million dolalr quesiton comes

do you guys think someone will dare to make a Rocketeer remake?

  • The Rocketeer = the father of Iron Man

  • Wow. Way to give away literally the entire movie. Right down to Sinclair's accent.

  • WoW this old movie still gets me chills, it doesn't get enough credit for being a great superhero movie

  • WHAT KIND OF STORY IS THIS???

  • HEY I THOUGHT IT WAS ROCKETEER FAST EASTMOVEMENT LOL

  • THINK HIS ASS GOT HOT?

  • @eric8erjunk

Yeah, I always wondered why it never caught on fire! X-D

  • What a cool story. Aviator meets Iron Man meets Nazis.

  • got interested watching this trailer b/c i keep seeing this while searching, when i wanted to see the Far East Movement's videos

  • It was a knock-off of King of the Rocketmen, and Commander Cody, but I saw it because Timothy Dalton played a great villain.

And this was within a couple of years of his last James Bond movie.

  • Such an underrated classic. I mean, it was big when it came out, but hardly anyone ever mentions it anymore. However, when they do, people remember it with respect and sweet nostalgia. Great film!

  • Halp reach, Jetpack deja vu :O

  • The Director of this movie is also directing the New Captain America movie with Chris Evans. I bet not alot of people know that.

  • What a great film...a must see for any person of any age.

  • 1:45 Sweet Jennifer and her rockets! Hey, nice name for a band...

  • Iron Man's great grandfather.

  • @shockvoz123 iron man existed almost 15 years before the rocketeer.

  • ROCKET NAZI !!! XD

  • This movie is fucking amazing! ,Brings back my child hood

    memories ahhh good times :)

  • this was one of my favorite movies as a kid and ive been wondering what the name was so i finally typed in "jetpack man" into google and found the name!! YESSS!!! awesome movie

  • I FOUND IT!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY FOUND THIS MOVIE!! HAHA I LOVED THIS MOVIE ^ ^

  • Jennifer Connelly at her best..

  • The Rocketeer = An early Ironman

  • @daftpunk3494

Iron Man appeared about 20 years before the comic book. He had a TV show also, long before the film came out.

The Rocketeer, comic book and film, is a tribute to the pulp heroes, and a certain film called the Rocket men. The heroes were a group of Jet pack flying heroes.

  • After playing Dark Void people recommended me this movie, and after watching this I so want to see it.

  • timothy dalton was great in hot fuzz.

  • How do I look?

    Like a hood ornament! 0:53

  • Where to buy ? (The rocket suit, i mean)

  • i love this movie as i was growing up!!! i think would still enjoy it just as much today. i must of seen it 20 times or more!

  • golden age goodness!

  • Jennifer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • John Locke had a factory ?

  • @yourtube20061 He's playing Howard Hughes.

And John Locke was a philosopher, IRL. The TV show took his name for a specific reason.

  • Wait.. this movie os from 1991? I't looks like its from the sixties! Seriously, it has the same feeling of the old James Bond movies! You rarely see films these days with a good feel like that

  • @Elementalsband it's set in 1938

  • hey guys this movie is a superb movie in 1991 but i saw this movie in 1996 when i was 8 year old at star movies channel.......best movies of 90's.......still i love it..but today if u watch it may look different...... also the actess she is very hot ....i still remember the kiss in this movie..........haha

  • @dbzman1985 You saw that episdoe too huh?

  • better than Iroman X)

  • Is the music at the end from the movie?

  • How the hell did this movie fail at the box office back in 1991? It's fun, charming, well acted, action packed and exciting. Great movie and always will be! Even 20 years later, it's fantastic.

  • @Trancemaster2052

It looks great from the trailer, but it did suffer from the fact that it came out in competition with big blockbusters like terminator 2 and robin hood prince of thieves.

  • When stupid people need a thrill, they rent the rocketeer. Gotaa love family guy but this movie looks good. ill have to see it.

  • @johnadams8000 LOL thats why looked this up

  • I don't really see how a jetpack could give you the power to rule the world.

  • holy shit! it's firefly from batman the animated series! the hell is he doing here

  • Almost 20 years later, and this is still my favorite movie. They don't make'em like this anymore.

  • I watched this movie for the first time today, it saddens me that I didn't get to see it as a kid back in the 90s. Fantastic movie!

  • I keep telling people that one of the greatest time periods for movies were the 80's and early 90's.

  • @settings99 it was.

  • @settings99

Batman(though I thought Returns sucked now looking back on it and Forever was a better sequel), Dick Tracy, TMNT1, and the like(possibly The Shadow as well)..

I think Darkman is also an underrrated flick....

  • Locke is ALIVE!!!

  • damm!!! that's JOHN LOCKE!!!

  • My favorite childhood flick. I still love it.

  • From the future director of Firts Avenger: Captain America, .........Joe Johnston¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • BRILLIANT film! a man that could fly because of technology! what more do yer want! go rocketeer!

  • @tobie1

    fire proof pant!

  • so whats so special about the rocket?

    lol

  • @MadMaxPain45 Simple; they didn't have rockets that small, powerful, or fuel efficient in that time period (as far as anyone on the grid knows); the Nazis wanted it in order to give themselves an edge, and the US wanted to make sure that didn't happen.

I haven't seen the movie myself, but I've seen enough in the trailers in order to understand that much.

  • A hood ornament!

  • Sooooo cheeeeesy! But so fun!

  • 1:46 beautiful woman backing up, scared, trapped, and a shadowed figured approaching her with an evil laugh! ... lol

  • I was The Rocketeer for like 4 years in a row for Halloween as a kid.

    He's still my goddamn hero.

  • hell yeah. great to hear.

  • @Vergedood "For LIKE 4 years?Bad enough many people use the word "like" between every other word, now they have to type it between every other word...very sad.
