  • Man, I heard this song on Sirius XM the other day and immediately fell in love with it. Thanks for posting it here.

  • i love you ginn you are blessed love all your songs are great :}

  • hehe nice song

  • Happy Birthday, Ginny! YOU are the best!

  • Never heard this song before in my life until I heard it recently on Radio Rewound which played all-(mostly) 60s music on Labor Day weekend. I added on to my favorites, and for some, it DOES bring back memories. A must to enjoy!

  • hahaha this song is so funny and i love it! =D

  • It seems to me when she sang with Pitney she sounded a lot like Teresa Brewer! Joe

  • Everytime I hear this song I feel 14 again! Of course I bought it and I'm so glad others enjoyed her voice as I did!

  • Ginny, your CD is a "must have".

  • What a great song! Never heard it before, but the tune is very catchy and so 60's!

It is an era that will NEVER be equaled, not the music, not the cars, not the adventure!

  • Happy Birthday, Ginny! Thank you for your great songs!

  • This song stands out by having the singer admit that they ruined the relationship. Ginny's voice does remind me of Leslie Gore! And you added great graphics that fit the song like a glove!.

  • @Petemonster62 Thank you for your kind post!

  • thank u

  • belle ballade

  • @Jhensy2001 I'm sorry you don't like this song but maybe you'll like some of my others. Please give them a listen. Thanks, Ginny Arnell

  • Thanks for making this great video, and posting information about the song! I first heard the song in 1970, when we were playing all the old records in the family collection. We did not know it was a 'hit' record, just loved it for the girl calling herself a 'dumbhead' and saying she had a peanut for a brain!.

  • I'm so thrilled your friend in Germany liked my "DumbHead" recording. You made my day! Maybe he'll also like the rest of my CD.

    Thanks,

    Ginny Arnell

    Thanks,

    Ginny Arnell

  • A friend of mine in Germany went WILD for this when I sent a 45 of it. Classic. Ginny, wherever you are...we LOVE you!

  • Hi Charles,

My album was just released on Poker Records, in England, but you can buy it on Amazon. It has my Japenese version of Dumb Head on it which is fun to hear again. What's your email -- we'll talk more.

    Ginny Arnell

PS-- I'm new at this too! Sergio is the expert.

  • Thanks for the compliments, Antematter. I had a super fun time singing and recording songs when Rock & Roll was just coming into vogue. How lucky was I to have contributed to this wonderful age of Music! Thanks, Ginny Arnell

  • @ginny1102 i found your song awhile ago and i really enjoy it. i play drums for a hobby and this is on my list. thanks hank

  • @Antematter She truly equals the best of the genre, and brought her own special qualities to it. I am glad to report that Ginny is still alive and well, although retired from singing.

  • mgm records only class acts please

  • Hey, I did something very simliar with this song last week! Just found yours!

  • I just love Ginnny's Dumb Head! What a great teen song! Thanks to boopkid for posting it and to ariesgypsy for sharing it! Great song!

  • This is a lovely early girlie song.I don`t know why people are bad mouthing Amy Winehouse thoe she has nothing to do with this. However, regardless of Amy`s background she is the best female singer and songwriter to come out of Britain for decades, even if you can`t relate to her lyrics she has an amazing voice.Anyway thanks 4 a great songx

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO! Goes perfectly with the music... love the kazoos!

  • Thanks, Larry. Me too!

  • I like Ginny's music, and it is unfair that good singers such as she did not make much money from their recordings. However, I don't care for Amy Winehouse's songs. I think her voice is okay, and her lyrics poor. Of course many people today identify with her stuff, just as many people, for example, go for rap music with lyrics about life in the Hood. Amy probably could win another grammy though if she records a song titled Back to Rehab.

  • I loved this song, even though most of my friends hated it.

  • "Dumb Head" climbed as high as No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 1963, but she had a song that I played earlier in 1963 as a DJ in Nashville, called "Trouble's Back In Town" (flip side "I'm Crying Too") on the MGM label, as was "Dumb Head." Ginny actually teamed with Gene Pitney as the duo Jamie & Jane, which recorded some fairly obscure songs on the Decca label circa 1959.

  • Thanks for posting. Check out my video of "I'm Crying Too".

  • Super as usual,Sergio!

Your videos amaze me.....and I love Ginny Arnell!

  • Thanks, don't forget to see the new and improved "He's My Little Devil" video.

  • @boopkid KK I WILL

  • Fantastic! This version is so clear and crisp it sounds nothing like the version I have on CD! Love the kazoo reference too! Joannie Sommers has that delightful touch in her "Johnny Get Ang-ary" version! :-) There's another tune I may add one day that is surrounded by the mighty kazoo as well!

Thanks again and I think if I haven't cross-referenced the "Sharades" version I think someone has it here too now!

  • Jon,

This is taken from the new Poker CD and the sound is fabulous. Yes, such youthful and fun sound that the kazoo adds to the these teenage songs.

  • By the way, thanks for the compliment. I listened to the Sharades version, it's quirky and fun, but Ginny's is best.

  • sharades>ginny arnell

  • Sergio....I really believe you are a genius. This is not my favorite Ginny song by a long shot but your video made me look at it in a different light. I too, first heard it in the shower, fell, broke my leg!!! Not really...I can't imagine any of the girl-now singers singing this...Amy Winehouse maybe...lol....I love Ginny's version of "Trouble's Back In Town," which was a #1 country hit for The Wilburn Brothers. Ginny is a natural. She sounds so much younger than her photos make her look.

  • Wayne...genius, you are too kind. Thank you!!!

Amy Winehouse I think she could sing it, and even pull it off, but never like Ginny. I like "Trouble's Back In Town" and so many others, there will be more Ginny videos to come.:o)
