Another ultralight solution, that's awesome (did I just say awesome?) ;) Looks like the aluminum fortified model will prevent mashed potatoes of your entire food supply. Thanks for that Shug!
Learning plenty about hammock camping and ultralight kit thanks to you, and the entertainment is priceless, whoooo buddy ;) We have serious bear issues up here in Manitoba and I would think that you have a good number in MN as well. How do you store your food? Never thought about it like this before but watching your video with Wandering Fool a little while, realized what a sausage like presentation you must make to the coyotes and bears as they come sniffin' 'round ya in yer hammock!
You always give me something to think about! Your silnylon weathershield - that would be a vapor barrier, yes? If you've ever gotten condensation - is it on the shield or on the UQ? And would regular ripstop, while breathable, provide enough water protection from the outside? So many things to consider....
Being just on the other side of superior (thunder bay), out forests look so similar...every vid i watch just makes me want to get out... just finished a 3 night kayaking adventure , sunburnt, tired and probably a bit dehydrated ...none the less...GET ME BACK OUT THERE!!!
I'll try to sometime ..... my ridgeline is connected to the lines off of the end of my hammock that attach to the suspension. So yessir .... it is attached to the hammock.
I really like your comments at 5:01. Look and stair, that's me, I don't know what to say my videos suck. You got some good ideas for outdoor videos gave a ***** and joined your channel. Great job.
Fun, interesting video; beautiful scenery. I have to tell you, though, that if I were out in the woods and saw you coming down the trail in those red pedal pushers, I'd likely turn around and run.
Are those pants home made? If not what brand are they? They look awesome, and comfy! With the socks hiked up they remind me of Landschnect pants from the 16th c.
Hey Sam .... A good time was had and I try to go for the light-hearted approach with a bit of actual info on backpacking. I am no pro, I just go a lot and love it.
Got the knickers from a store called Sahalie. Nice and dorky and comfortable.
Shug.....Cohiba.....You know your cigars, good call.

@Videos1970 It is actually made of rip-stop. Cuts the wind and adds some warmth. Never got any condensation in it....

Looks as if you've refined your kit quite a bit since this video was shot. All good stuff, though. Thanks for sharing.

A matter of comfort.

Could you do a video on how you have your hammock set up. Is the Ridgeline connected to the hammock?

great video Shug! Also, some very creative uses of the Stick Pic. Is that a Western Mountaineering Summerlite?

Your backpacking outfit with the hammock and tarp is awesome.
Also, the holler out to Ryland and Golden was cool. They have a great podcast.

No ... not homemade ... got them from a store catalog "Sahalie". Might comfy and somewhat fashionably dorky with the sock jacked up.
