Cans that are bent out and flex making that popping sound could be due to botulism or have just gone bad. Either way, I never purchase cans of food that are not solid and stiff. If a can has any dent whatsoever, I pass on it.

btw salmon would have mercury in it too all the big fishies like tuna, salmon, sword fish have mercury in em
