When you're doing a pull up/chin up it is best to keep your legs as still as possible. You want your back and arms (primarily shoulders) to be doing most of the workout and not your legs. How you have your legs at the back is what I mean. Like at :22 when you are just hanging. Keep that position as best as you can during your workout. Keep it up (you are at least doing more than I can.)
Just to add, you don't have to follow that meal plan, if you want to get wy stronger and gain mass... i think the meal plan is mostly for losing some weight, i eat a lot of fish, oat flakes, yogurt and all that stuff, and i've gained 17 pounds through the 90 days of this, and went from under 200 to 420 push ups, and i sure will keep on improving, so yes this stuff works a lot, but in my mind its best to mix it with gym like after 2nd round or so..
@TshowSF07 Might as well stop and get all fat and stuff since I'm a ween who can only do over 200 push ups and 54 crappy pull ups in this workout. FML.
@TshowSF07 If you think I'm a bitch now as I kick my feet every once in awhile (because I don't have a lot of room for my legs to hang) you should of seen the zero pull ups I could do when I first started. That would mean I was 54 times more of a bitch then.
i'm not one to comment on how people workout, but shouldn't you go a little slower on the backflys and lawnmowers because that way you can focus on form and not using momentum to get the weight up. you'll definately see much better results that way. good job though. glad to see your getting ripped on p90x.
i fucking hate the military style pushups aha. im in phase 2 but im yet to attempt the ab ripper cuz i dont have a proper matt and i have hardwood so it hurts. so all my results have been legs and upper body. good video
ugh no offense but for someone that has done this "3" times u dont look like big u know? Did u started this program as skinny? Besides the workouts have u been doing extra activities (sports, tracking etc)? how much of the nutrition guide did u follow? I am considering p90x for a cutting phase but this doesnt look like it puts enough mass into your body seems it just burns everything off. I dont wanna burn all my mass now...
@ovariesniper No offense taken. I was into running befoe P90X and put on 10 pounds of muscle from it. I play softball, golf, run, ski, and snowboard. I would say that P90X is all about muscle efficiency. I've seen people who were at 8% body fat and could bench press 250 pounds 5 times put on 5 pounds of muscle and just get ripped. You will not burn any mass off with p90x.
@cmubrad AH i thought u might of been coming from a high cardio related sport, cuz the vid doesn't lie about ur strength. I was just worried because way back i lost a lot of strength & muscle due to too much cardio activity. As far as your diet is concern how much of it did u follow? Oh and lastly What would be the next best thing if i dont have ur dbells?
@ovariesniper I did do the Detroit Marathon 6 months before starting P90X so I was very thin from the training. P90X is almost all resistance training. No need to worry about losing strength and mass. I followed the P90X meal plan about 40% of the time. Could have done much better. My problem is beer. What can I say. I enjoy a couple on the weekends and there is no meal plan saying its ok to have them. I use resistance bands along with the dumbbells.
@cmubrad This was exactly the answer i was looking for bro... All I've seen is people who talk about weight loss and i don't have a problem in that department so i was wondering if this program would help me because I'm not completely built but i like my body size and i want to get ripped... Thanks dude
60's is big time. After doing P90X for a long time now I feel like I need heavier weights for lawnmowers as my 55.2's don't do the job anymore unless I want to do 30 of them. Shit gets expensive.
Jacking your legs like that, and yanking the weight the way you do is robbing you of exercise. Sure you're still moving the weight, but not using the right muscles.
now we are up to doin lawnmower tyhpe things but we put one leg on a bench and make our backs parellel to the floor..yesterday we tried doin 70's and then 80's...shits gettin heavy
wow man thats cool Im doing p90X I took a two week break cause I just am going back to school and the last two weeks of ramadan(period of fasting) really hit me hard.Todays the first day getting back Im doing the last 3 weeks but I decided to go back and do an extra week. Its hard but im not giving up.soryy for this huge comment great video and great workout.
What are those things u have between the wall and the door? We have an older style house where all the door frames are wide. so only one I have it fits is my closet which is really short =(
What did you do to increase your pull ups like that.? When i start out on the Chest/Back work out I can do 10 pullups w/o a chair on the first one then 5 w/o a chair on the second set. On the remaining sets of pull ups, i'm lucky to get 2 w/o a chair. Any suggestions on how to increase them?
I just kept on doing them until they were done doing them on the DVD. If I could only get 5 in then I would take a quick 5 second break then do one or two and keep doing this for the entire 1 minute.
Are those dumbbells plastic?

@DrummerDude5645 You're probably right. I've gotten used to that weight so I now have to do like 20 reps before I feel the burn. Slower would help.

what happens after 90 days... is it just finished and thats it?
laurencebegam 1 year ago
you can either do p90x all over again. i did it 3 times. the other option is to get p90x plus. its 5 more workouts that can be added into p90x.

The running has definitely helped with the cardio part. I hear the term "muscle endurance" a lot and that's kind of what I've got.

Form-check on your reps

Still, keep up the good work.
