The reasons he doesn't mention the Loyalist terrorism are that 1. There isn't a lot of support for Loyalist terrorists in America, wheras there was/is for the IRA, and 2. he was responding specifically to a particularly heinous terrorist act committed by the Provos on Remembrance Sunday in 1987, the day this was filmed.

@eden1963 I think on this particular day Bono's patience finally ran out!....His mother was a Catholic....his father a Protestant!.....He just wanted Ireland to live in peace....But that day in Enniskilen, even the IRA's most loyal supporters knew a line had been crossed......I think it effectively finished the IRA to be honest......God bless Ireland and all its people...Great performance!
