  • Thanks again Midland, for a great show at the museum! And thanks to whoever sent the cloud overhead at 7:30p!

  • I will give you guys so much money for the guitar chords to this song!

  • Hi. My name's Matthew Woodard, born and raised in Midland, Texas. Go Robert E. Lee class of 2008! I'm currently living and going to school in Germany. I know a lot of you aren't as far away from Midland as I am, being as Central Europe is probably as far away as you can get, but I still appreciate my hometown of Midland so much and how much of a positive influence it has been on my life. Every time I listen to this song, I can still see that gorgeous Texas horizon through that Midland skyline.

  • T.C.,

    You're awesome!!!!

  • Great job- and a song I definitely relate too. I lived in Midland (Mudville) from 58 - 74 and went to Lee also. Grew up at the end of Mockingbird Lane. That's ok about the Purple and Gold thing... We still visit as there is family there. Love to all!

  • Midland wasn't my real hometown. I was a temporary transplant for a few years, but had to tell you that your song made me smile with the memories it brought back. Wonderful music, awesome song!

  • Great performance and song! I like the "2 weeks from water & 5 feet from hell" and "prospecting stories and broken hearts" -- they tell real stories. We live about 90 miles northeast, but we've been there many times (family). Only we who live out here can really understand.

  • We really enjoyed your performance last night, hope you come back to Midland soon!

  • Hello all you Midlanders! We are very excited about our shows in Midland this weekend. Of course we have the 'Big Shew' at the Museum of the Southwest on Sunday, but also, we'll be playing at the Midland Hilton this Thursday the 5th!

  • Another goodern! Thanks!

  • that was absolutely perfect..beautiful song..superb performance..

  • I like the song, purple and gold has to go tho, I went to Lee.

(btw this is Jon aunt T.)

  • I went to Midland *and* Lee - but 'purple and gold' just sang better vocally than 'maroon and white'

thanks for reviewing teh song...feel free to overdub with whatever onboard effects you have!

  • Can't wait to see you when you come to Midland!!

  • OMGOSH..And I thought I was the only one! lol

Graduated in 89, yep Im a bulldog all the way,

Left the for the finer things in life and realized there weren't any! Funny thing is, I haven't been back since...some places are better left a (good) memory.

  • Very nice,nothin like having a tight band and a great origanal song.Congrats !

  • Hey girl, you hit the nail on the head. I loved your song and think you are very talanted. I'd go see you and your band in concert. Nice harmony too. By the way, I LIVE IN MIDLAND, TEXAS and proud to be here. By the way, in your song you forgot to mention the grass burrrrs and RATTLE SNAKES LOL

  • SO true -- ONLY a native CAN love it! I do -- althought I left there many years ago and go back to see family. It still has a special meaning to me! The maroon and white will ALWAYS be the BEST!!!!

  • I was raised there but don't miss it. Enjoy the big city opportunities. Only go badk to see relatives!!!!

  • How neat! I really like the whole ode to Midland. I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could!

It's funny.. Growing up I hated Midland, but at 37, it's home sweet home ;-)

  • Very touching tribute to My HomeTown, Midland! Maroon and White are our official colors tho! (wink)

  • Great song...You got the purple and gold Right!! Lived there 14 years. Can't say I miss the wind :)

  • Great song about President and Laura Bush's home town. Wonder if they have heard it?

  • I have no idea if they have heard it. Even if they had, I doubt they would be able to acknowledge it, since that would be seen as 'promoting' a certain song or artist. Even though the President was born in New Haven, Connecticut, I'm sure he would remember the ol' purple and gold the same way many of us do..

  • wow. an ode to midland, texas. and a heartfelt one at that. but, i'm sorry to say that i do not share everyone's love of this place, even though this is where i was born and raised. i left for the big city and have never once looked back. the only reason i go back is to visit family who think that Midland is the greatest thing to happen to America since sliced bread. i was born there, but i refuse to die there. regardless of my feelings of midland, texas, though, nice song.

  • Go Bulldogs '77

  • I totally relate with this song. I too left for the big city, just to come back.

  • Hi There! Wow love your music. If you ever get back to Midland we would love to meet you! Sandy Haskell

  • Sent here by Tahllulah -- great music! Thanks for sharing this ...

  • she's right, only a native could love it, and I am, and I do. I'd skip the purple and gold though, maroon and white for me! :-)

  • Beautiful tunes, beautiful voice, beautiful music!

  • Im from midland, and its my real hometown, no matter how far I go away <3

  • I'm an ol Midlander... Left in '65, after graduation... Love your spirit and music. You go girl! I miss the wind too! ...Go Robert E. Lee Rebels!

  • Great true to life song!
