Osirysteamo, subscriber below, I agree with you. It is so sad and upsetting when I hear people say that Obama is a communist or a socialist because they are puttng a label on him, judging him, and stereotyping him. I've even heard it on Christian television and radio. I thought those were the people that cared about people and helping them but I hear a lot of Christian radio and tv judging our president and calling him names. It's not right.
Republicans, health insurance companies are feeding this idea that Obama is trying to socialize the health care system--Obama wants ALL people to have access to health care---it is something good. SAY NO TO COMERCIALIZED HEALTH--FOR PROFIT HEALTH CARE---SAY NO TO THE SYSTEM WE HAVE NOW--SAY YES TO A REFORM!!!1
If you read between the lines, you would realize that nationalized health care would eliminate the government programs for needy people ie, medicare, medicaid, section 8, food stamps. Earning minimum wage would be enough for a person to have a place to live and be able to eat. But when a Dr. visit costs three days pay, or filling a cavity costs 4 days pay, or a prescription costs a week's pay, you give up. You are going to be on the streets anyway.
We need the public option. The insurance companies will screw us without it.
The Republicans want to help the rich and screw the poor. They dont care about the majority of people.
They want to cut taxes for the rich, but then there is less money for social programs for the poor and middle class. Republicans don't want a public option, because there insurance buddies wouldn't be able to make as much money.
To the blue dog democrats, dont be traitors. Get back to your democratic roots.
MyEthereality GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS!!!! Read (if you can) the information in the description...here let me make it easier for you:
"Cesar was born and raised in Arvin,California, a small town in the Central Valley. Cesar shares his mother Marthas story. Martha came to the United States from Mexico and has worked for nearly 40 years. "
What the HELL is WRONG with you people???? I've never read some many heartless comments in my life!!!! How do you people even sleep at night???
I don't give a CRAP if this man is PURPLE, he is having to watch his mother die before his own eyes because of a system that DOESN'T WORK! What part of that DO YOU NOT GET?????!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would we want to give free health care to people who don't work for it? This is how socialism works. I get the same thing somebody else gets regardless of whether i or that other person works for it.
people shouldn't just get "handouts", that's just being lazy.
but personally, i think food stamps and welfare have truly helped. (off subj.) but i was once in the poor house because of 9-11. those programs saved my family. but it should only be acquired for a period of time. not whole lives.
You know what. This kind of situation is SO UNcommon! Hospitals won't turn you down if you don't have health insurance. Geez. My mom is a PT at a hospital & a medical equipment sales person. My dad works in the pharmaceuticals, and NEVER have they EVER turned anyone down. My mom's given people pacemakers, billy blankets, etc. even if they can't pay for it. But those people who NEED it, will get it, to save their lives. God. This video is like a minority.
A lot of people are afraid to get treatment not because they'll be turned away, but because they'll be chased for the money later. The more ill you are, the worse that bill is likely to be.
I hate to say it but there are many illegal immigrants in the USA, this is a fact. They drive the economy in the US doing crappy jobs most white people hate. America should at least provide these people with heath care. I'm not a racist. Thanks for reading.
Did I miss something? So many of the comments are talking about illegal aliens and how "it's all THEIR fault." I listened one more time to Cesar's story. He says nothing about he or his mother being in this country illegally. You know it's quite possible that they've both been paying into the system for years. Just because a person has a foreign accent doesn't mean that they are "illegal".
The TRUTH is work "with" HEALTH INSURANCE is OFFERED 100% of the time to "any" white skinned person- including former enemy "commies" in USA while 200 years in USA black ppl are still WAITING for that "easy..yes..easy" work offered to WHITE ppl with all the TRIMMINGS like vacation leave, 401K, sick leave and VERY friendly (& even relatives) as BOSS.
When will that "match" for the COLORED?
We have to work "double" hard to get "half" of the perks/salary- that is FOUR times harder & get SICK.
I don't want to pick a fight so don't take it that way but, you clearly don't have the slightest clue what you are talking about. The "TRUTH" is that white people have just as hard when it comes to health care. You are a racist and extremely offensive. I wish your "TRUTH" was right because then I wouldn't owe over $20,000 dollars in health care bills because of someone attacking me on the street and giving me a concussion.
cadermd, Wow, I comprehend your anger but I am a liberal and even I am offended by the racism behind what you are saying. It isn't just people of color any more, it is the poor regardless of skin color who are treated the awful in this country. We are a white family, we don't have any of the perks you talk about except vacation which is used as sick leave. No raise in 5 years, dirty grimy physical labor. yeah were living high on the hog! Please be nice but be strong love conquers hate hurts
I agree that all individuals should be given equal care...but when they make no effort to work for a living, or attempt to understand the language of their own country should it even be considered. Now, if someone is truly disabled and cannot care for themselves then situations can change. Still, those who have worked years for their own trusted health insurance should not have to share a waiting room with families off the street.
this should't be a race issue. health care is a basic human necessity. its really sad a "developed country" like the US doesn't protect its citizens, and you scorn "3rd world countries" like mine, Costa Rica which has a great PUBLIC health care system. EVERYONE is taken care off for FREE. even inmigrants. we have a lot of nicaraguans (1 mill, out of a total 5 mill. pop) and if they need help, its given for free. it should be a example for other countries like the US.
Whaha, America would be even more in total shit without the mexicans picking up all the unwanted jobs all over Americans. That......and they are friggen HUMANS.........fr
because Big Bussiness would give a job to illegal immigrants for below minimum wage ( a wage that a legal citizen would not choose because that's not enough to live off of), or they would offer jobs at a above minimum wage but no benefits.
The Illegal immigrant would take the job because they are trapped and Big Bussiness wants to make huge profits so they hire him.
And I extremely differ with your notion that illegal immigrants saved america considering that California is probably going to be the first state to file for bankruptcy, and a major part of their economy in California is Illegal immigrant workers.
Illegal immigrants don't pay for state and federal income tax, so how is the state going to have any money.
Also the number 2 import into Mexico is US dollars.
The U.S's velocity of money is slowing because of Illegal immigration.
"YoYoJonathan"= Go play with your "hypnotizing" & empty minded YoYo (probably watch FOX T.V too - that "brainless" TAX Thieves who live off "Immigrant Workers Tax" money.
Shameless "cracker"- your Dady or Uncle or Mama found you your Job for which you NEVER had the right QUALIFICATION but get a FAT pay check for doing a bad job with quarter brain?
Why don't you FACE intelligence at Equal Educatiom Schools with Equal Amount of Food on the TABLE?
so instead of screwing with our private health care...lets allow our current public plans...medicare medicaid social security to cover people like your mom....even though i doubt you would be paying 500 a month for coverage
The far left of the dems want a single payer health care system, which isn't even on the table, and a climate bill that places much stricter regulations than anything that was even proposed, and limits to executive pay, etc. And, in case you haven't noticed, the losers of elections have a strange tendency to think that the winners are grabbing power, i.e. the left during the Bush years, and yet the so called "power grab" is never anything more than a different set of ideals.
The far left of the dem's, those of the school of thought of the original community organizer, Marxist, Saul Alinsky , have taken control, and are conducting the biggest power grab ever seen in this country.
Do you realize how many people spent their lives standing in bread lines in Marxist countries and
that Marxist murdered more than 100 million people? So, if we continue down the road this administration is leading us it is NOT dramatic to say that we are heading to bread lines; there
are already people lining up for food all over the country. Turn off the CNN, soaps and MTV and read newspapers and "great" books. Also, clean up that potty mouth.
Do you actually know what marxism is? How many government owned communal farms are there at this moment? There is a difference between a liberal and a marxist, and just being to the left of every president since FDR doesn't make Obama a commie. He has an ideology, one which much of the country seems to agree with and one which there has been no rational opposition to other than to say that if he takes it way further to the extreme than we can reasonably think he would it will turn out badly.
The government controlls the banks, car companies and soon healthcare. The new Census even requires that you tell what time you leave and return to your home and will be part. handled by Acorn. NICE
FDR's programs failed, caused 7 extra yrs. of depression, and the only thing that saved his bacon was world war....... want that?
There absolutely is "rational opposition" but the left controls the executive and legislative & even "town hall" meetings are scripted events.
The government "controls" banks for the time being because the banks couldn't control themselves and needed government money, as did the auto industry and health care will only end up in government control if the insurance companies can't get their act together and compete with the public option.
Also, the new deal didn't end the depression because it didn't spend enough. It took WWII spending to remedy the depression.
And the left can't even control the democratic party, much less congress
If you think the left of left is not in control of the dem's then you have earned your channel name; lol
Many banks were FORCED to take bailout money the auto industry should have been allowed to fail (but no, they feed the beast so they must be propped up) and the states should be "allowed" to set limits on healthcare premiums.
That was exactly what I said world war saved FDR's bacon, because his SOCIALIST programs did NOT work.
suicidalbunny, I need to correct your statistics. 80% of Americans who HAVE health insurance like it. That means that, on top of the 50 million people left out of the system altogether, there are also 20% of the people who do have insurance who cannot find a single plan in all of the insurance companies to fit them. I would also point out that most countries with national health programs, including Britain, have at least 75% approval for their systems, and Canada and France have closer to 90%.
Right wingers are so fearful. Everything with them is "what if". Stand up, sprout some balls. Stop being greedy pussies. There IS a problem with out health care. Being a bitch made punk about it and whining on yourtube does no good. Pick up your vagina, dust it off, stuff it back in your panties, take a breath, and realize that not everyone here are a bunch of no balls cowards like you. OK? If it's that bad, go to Mexico. That's what you are turning the US into.
Your rhetoric does not scare me, but as you seem to be fond of worse case scenarios, I'll give you one that is more relevant: By 2052, forty percent of the GDP will be spent on health care. We need health care reform now!
There is no health care system that is fool proof. I know it isn't free. But if trends keep going the way that they are, the cost of health care in ten years for a family of four will be over $36,000. If we give the Insurance companies some competition it will bring those costs down dramatically.
It is part of the insane KKKhristian right to enslave Americans. Funny how the working class Americans who support the gop, Pigs I call them fight to protect rich corporations, but they fuck their own by being sell out cowards. They're unAmerican.
I feel sad for your family member, however, between you and all of your siblings could you have not all contributed a little each month for that $400 policy of which you spoke? Having had that option, and having not taken that option, do that mean that you now expect the entire country to give up their freedom and have the government decide their healthcare choices.
I'm sorry for your family member, and I think it is very very sad, but not sad enough to give up our liberty forever.
Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies will not lower prices unless they have some competition. They know this which is why: Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has received the most money ($141,000) from health insurance PACs and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) who has said he fears the public option may lead to a "government takeover" of health care, ranks second, having received $111,000 from insurance PACs since 2004. Etc.
There are much better options. However, you have convinced........ lets all be slaves to the government, just remember to buy some good shoes before they take over, it will be difficult to stand in the bread line all day bare footed.
OMG could you be anymore dramatic. People don't stand in bread lines in canada, France Or Britain and in fact people in those countries are HEALTHIER than we are and live longer and are happier.
This whole lie that universal healthcare will be the end all is bullshit. I'm tired of people saying that we know how to take care of our own, when we let people die because of lack of healthcare. Oh and I would gladly pay higher taxes just to know if I got sick I would have the ability to live.
World Health Organization and friends who have been there and some who live there.
And yes I do and right now I make under $20,000, trying to get back into school to get my degree in history for teaching high school history. I had a full time job in Los Angeles, ca and yet I ended up sleeping in my car with nowhere to go cause people in this country don't actually care about helping each other. I worked up until I left. Family is all that saved me. Not everyone has that.
What about people who have debilitating health care bills that they can't afford?
Do they just 'work their way through'?
Please tell me how I'm supposed to start earning six figures while my wife is sick and can't contribute, without getting a degree, just so I can get a degree.
It's not that simple, just for you. TRY and have some empathy.
I just want to study physics, instead I work full time at a low wage and still can't even begin to afford my wife's treatments. Simple, huh
No, you put your foot in your mouth and now you are trying to recover with childish insults. A student with physics who can not keep simple facts straight. GOOD LUCK
Your previous comment was nonsense, didn't answer my questions, and didn't respond to my post. It was a stupid comment, so I called you an idiot.
Were you implying that I shouldn't have any time to be on youtube because I can't afford my wife's healthcare? I work sixty hours a week, and yes, manage some time to browse the web.
I shouldn't have to give up my dream in life just because my wife is ill, but I do. My point was explicit.
The idea is, that most ANYONE who is young, ill or responsible for someone who is ill, and makes less than 300% of the poverty line is left in the cold in our current system. Speak to the problem.
Insurance works by the healthy subsidizing the sick, that's all it is. So yes, someone else should pay, except that the system is failing to do so. It is failing to act as insurance in the interest of minimizing losses, so it needs to change.
If it were that simple then everyone would have a degree. Hopefully I'll be able to get loans to help pay for school and maybe some living expenses, otherwise I have to work two jobs and have enough to survive and maybe treat myself once in a blue moon.
Everyone's circumstances are different and throwing people into one category is a way for idiots to try to comprehend the complexity of life.
I got though college working f/t, taking 18+ hrs, taking care my niece, and commuting, receiving perhaps 4 hours of sleep per night during the workweek and paying my own expenses.
I'll agree to some extent that "throwing people into one category is a way for idiots to try to comprehend the complexity of life," that is why Universal healthcare, a Marxist initiative is such a disgusting proposal taking away free choice for everyone.
How does it take away free choice? Under universal healthcare people can chose their own doctors, doctors can have their own private practices. If it's about paying taxes, well I've had to pay taxes for wars that I did not support. Everyone has to pay taxes for people or things they don't neccesarily agree with, but that doesn't take away choice for everyone. Enlighten me on how exactly it does this.
If I did I would think that I would respond a whole hell of a lot faster than I have been. Although your wording was terrible with that question. Are you drunk???
You never answered any questions on how it takes away free choice? If it's because you consider it a Marxist initiative, then that's just pathetic.
No it was meant to understand why you wrote such a horrible sentence. I'm a writer, so anytime I see horrible sentences I wonder if it's due to outside influences, typos or our wonderful education system. Sorry if you took it as an insult.
And once again you insult me by saying I'm collecting some sort of shill check.
And to add insult to injury, good people like this have to be lectured at that we "Don't Understand the Need to Work or Why there Is a Need to Work" and that the reason we don't is because we're just waiting with our hand out for the "Nanny government" to come in and "take care of us".
Yeah! Right! And those who are SUPPOSED TO BE ON OUR SIDE, caved to the insurance giants before the first MINUTE of debate ended.
you really would never hear this in england/cuba/france/any country with universal healthcare, and the closest to our country is canada... don't have to travel too far
I think UHC will actualy befinit HMO's or private healthcare by bringing compititation--call it Capitalism--into the monolpoly. I also think we should nationalise a handfull of banks and put specific size regulations in place.
--it will come, we are the majority, SICK of the 'rulling class' raping OUR domacracy.
Waiting for EVERYONE will be common as it is in Canada. Denial of drugs will be common ... Canadians come here instead of waiting over a year or more to see a doctor. Taking over another industry is NOT the answer. Work with medicare .. extend those benefits...but don't push capitalism out!
That is why adult children graduating from college....get jobs. If high school...most insurance companies cover college age...and a year and a half for specialists..watched a special on health care on CSPAN
Again, spoken like someone who has no kids out of college seeking employment—she is interning part-time, and even then who says employers offer good, if any, coverage? Sunshine Ive been in 3 Unions since 1978, and served 6 yrs in the military, Im also a pilot, and have two college degrees, one is Science, and Im a certified Building Inspector, I could go on. The system is broke and the foxes have been in the hen house so long people like you are blinded by feathers—nothing personal!
Did you know that San Francisco actually pays its government workers for sex changes???? No wonder we are going bankrupt. What do yo think Obama will do since he granted same sex marriage rights to insurance?? Kill the old for sex changes?
The problem with the system is the pharmacuedical companies are making a killing... The solution shouldn't be government controlled-capped physician salaries. Then you would encourage second rate doctors. Doctors hate medicare ..they'd rather treat a patient for free ..because of all the rules and red tape. Their solution is to after the doctors. Where are they getting the money...oh yeah...from the military budget...just in time for Korea. I'm sorry, I don't see how you can trust Obama.
CalifSunshine2008, You said: "Doctors hate medicare ...they'd rather treat a patient for free". WELL, .. Medicare AND medicaid rates are still 2 times the price tag of private clinics in the rest of the industrialized world. Let the rest of us know the Doctor you say would rather treat people for free.
You rather spend money blowing the little dwarf north korean with a bad haircut than spend it on getting the US healthier, give me a break man.
It is like the prisoners dilemma... some think they are ok and think that if everybody is ok, they won't be as well of. The only difference in this prisoner's dilemma is that it is dynamic and going towards complete chaos. Either we fix it now, or we'll fix it later with more suffering and cost.
Interesting analogy, actualy I hear prison healthcare has improved somewhat, talk about your strange scenarios--I wonder how many prisoners had healthcare before they were inprisoned?? I wonder how many are in there for pot--a harmless medicine...;)
I really hope that the Health Care Reform passes here, it's not fair to have our neighbors suffering because they cannot afford health insurance. The prices are outrageous, and unless you have a job that pays decently or have health insurance provided through your job, you really are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
111th Congress phone numbers to call. Please tell them and say NO carbon tax. This needs to be done today. Cap & Trade will be the last straw. Dont let them kill America. This goes to vote TOMARROW!!!!! Bill HR 2454
Politics Politics Politics! will you people see the human side of this! this about a son losing his Mother!god people forget the politics for once and stop arguing call your congressman whether he is republican or a democrat help fix country by seeing the human side.
None of this matters if the government does not subsidize birth control and sterilization as well as tax cuts for those who control their family size instead of those who contribute to overpopulation!
Please do NOT eliminate the public option, Obama administration. There are millions without health insurance, and with a free public option, they will finally be ensured. Don't give in to the right-wing CEOs who are upset that they won't make another billion-or-so dollars. They can live without those billions.
I'm still young and healthy, but stories like this, which I have heard many, many times..Make me think, why the hell are we working and paying our taxes then? So much for the phrase "From the people and for the people". If we already get Police, Firefighters, libraries and up to high school free through taxes, why not just put Healthcare too? Cause people like money, but trustme, as long as they keep supporting them, people like me will remain without healthcare and worried of getting sick.
The ONLY ones that will not benefit from this are the CEO's in the insurance companies.
All your allies have moved to or always had the option to use gov healthcare. Not in ONE of those countries do the public want to remove the gov option.
Thats because it works. Even most rich people stick with the gov option.
I know, because I live in one of those countries:P
I really really hope you get this reform though! You deserve it!
Actually *I* would love to see a single payer plan-I have private insurance and it costs me a fortune. And I'm in excellent health and on no prescriptions. I should not have to pay $500 a month with a $500 deductible for a single person. I don't know though with a nation that abuses their bodies-I don't know how we can afford it. Well, everything else went down the toilet might as well try it :-)
I understand exactly what Cesar is going through. My mother was born here and is half native American and she went through the same thing. She died of cancer three months after she was diagnosed. I say single payer and those that want it and those that don't want it let them purchase private insurance. I say have a special election and let the American people decide. Lol the special interest would cry.
I had shattered my elbow last year riding my bike*I was 14 at the time* and broke my elbow in 5 places and shattered a bone.
When I got to the emergency room both of the orthopedists were OUT ON VACATION! because it was a saturday!!!
I had to wait close to 5 hours where during that time the nerve in my arm had started to erode from it being pinched from bone fragments and when I was finally shipped to another hospital I was charged 40,000$ in medical fees!
Its great that obama wants to take on healthcare, but there are bigger issues at the moment like global climate change and the iran election that need the spotlight right now.
I am Canadian. I have lived 28 years with our Publicly Funded Health care system. My daughter was also born under this system. The numbers don't lie. I have videos on my channel exposing the facts. Canada ranks 6th amongst industrialized nations with the less preventable deaths while the USA ranks 19th (dead last). Public Health Care (single payer) also costs a fraction of the price of multi payer systems such as the one found in the USA. I have videos explaining why that is.
If you're not famous, rich, or involved in politics, you're screwed. Insurance companies have you where they want you. You pay into the system, but when you need care they pay "national average" which if you live anywhere near a city is likely to cover about 15% of your bill. At $5000 per day in the hospital you can go broke pretty quick!
Hey, 80% like their healthcare. Probably because they've never been sick. It's only the sick ones that see the problems. Some people just don't want to see the problems. If it ain't broke.... People would just rather turn their heads until it happens to them. It's like the justice system. Hope you never need it
In Miami, last year they found a hole, a scam, involving almost 2 billion in "ghost" bills/overcharged hospital prices toward Medicare. it's just a matter of hiring more ppl to overlook those situations.
Canadians and English come to America for health care because their gov't health care is inadequate to meet the citizen's needs...talk about waiting for a doctor's visit go in at 9am and get out at 6 or 7pm...and wait till nurses see thier wages cut to trim costs of health care under gov't management...the talented Drs and nurses will leave the profession or the country....
Bullshit. Very very rich ppl could come to this country if they can afford the docs. I have a close friend whose son was diagnozed with leukemia, docs in Europe told him he would not make it yet, he brought him to Houston and the docs gladly accepted the son for evidently the bill would come to over 1 million dollars while all the while knowing he did not stand a chance. Doctors here are merchants. Could care less. I hope you have a great health plan and may you not ever depend your life on it.
you can walk into any emergency room without insurance and be treated it is the law....illegals do it all the time...I got an operation and because I didn't have insurance got a 45% discount, and let me have payment plans of $50 a month... Don't believe this propaganda that gov't healthcare would be better or else why would Florida hospitals have to hire extra nurses for the season when Canadians flood in for health care?
in the american system it's all about saving money. by them not treating her they save money. canada and europe however actually have the morals we wish we had. over there they take care of the sick because that person is sick and needs help, not because they have the money.
8 children and their mother Martha who "instilled in her eight children the dignity and value of hard work" can't afford $400 to $500 a month for health insurance? Is this a joke?
Thats right! Why are people dying while they wait for someone to care about their health. My family & I are suffering too and I have been mistreated recently by a doctor not of my choice. I cant wait for July 31st. C'mon people, if anyone has good ideas on a healthy healthcare system, bring it on! Pres. Obama is waiting to hear from you! In peace, joy, love & light to you & yours always! Namaste, Judy xoxoxoxo
Eugenics is the self-direction of human evolution": Logo from the Second International Eugenics Conference, 1921, depicting it as a tree which unites a variety of different fields. Dude your a fucking idiot.
I am well aware of what eugenics is. Not giving poor people or people with life long illnesses health care weeds them out. Thus with them gone the system is taxed less. That is eugenics, eliminating bad genes while preserving good genes. What other excuse besides eugenics is there for not treating the permanently ill or the poor?
For all I care they can do it like the schools. They can have a public network of doctors, specialists and facilities. Of course the private stuff will still exist and in most cases it will probably be better. But I will tell you, when you are suffocating from an Asthma attack, you just want to breathe. The facility wouldn't matter too much at that point.
A friend of mine went to the hospital with a heat stroke in Florida, was there for 25 hours and got a 19.000,00 bill? They are not doctors, they are there with the sole purpose of ripping ppl off and make a HUGE, INDECENT profit.
*Exactly*. Now when there is going to be a federally funded health care system-the doctors are going bleed that dry, baby! You know most people want 90 year old granny to have everything done. *Medicare* is running out of money. It really is. That's socialized medicine for the elderly. Answer me this: IF medicare is running out of money, how is it going to insure EVERYBODY across the nation-a nation with the majority of people abusing their bodies with McDonalds and KFC fried grease.
exaclt because of what you stated here: poor eating habits. Not to mention the large variety of side effects ppl get from overmedicating the population.
Well, that's what doctors do-instead of addressing nutrition, they give you a pill. Got high cholesterol? No problem-here's prescription. I've known some people say, "I can eat all and anything I want-I just take these pills and I'm fine". Diabetics: "Oh yeah sure I can have this cake and sugar cola-I just take more insulin and I"m fine". It's how MOST AMERICANS are. I would love to see Health care reform, but how an we afford it?? *Most Americans* abuse their body!
Not to mention about the hazardous, nefast effects of Aspartame. On your question here, if I am not mistake, Health Insurance companies gae until 2010 for the people to lose weight, regain control over their lives, avoiding bad habits or their health ins plan would cost as much as double.Winter , we are already paying for the uninsured through our taxesHospitals bill the gov. One of the things Obama is doing is revising ALL the ridiculous amount of money hospitals/doctors are charging the gov.
winter , if you think WE, the Obama supporters, are drinking kool-aid, what's there to say about you? What are you doing on his channel, then? Are you a masochist? I don't EVER, EVER peep on fauz news idiotic channels.
@classicallady Maybe it helps to have an open mind sometimes and challenge your own views. Its much more constructive than just calling people who disagree idiots.
I have a rather open mind. All I was stating was where did he get the info from? I happen to be European living here for the past 9 years and know extremely well both Canadian and European systems. Someone who claims and places lies here just irritates the heck of me.Furthermore, I am personally involved with Organizing For America, the President's movement for health care reform. To simply say: BEFORE I place a comment, I either check the facts OR KNOW THEM BY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
I would say any health care system is excellent from personal experience if one does not need to use it. But I see a lot of complaints about socialized medicine done by the people who DO need it. But there are complaints about private insurance too. But I do know in England nobody over 80 goes into the intensive care units, and "Do Not Resusitate" means "Comfort only". They dont go to the units like they do here. 85 year old granny who need open heart surgery is NOT going to get it.
Funny because I studied/graduated there and what your are stating here is absurd. The UK is well known throughout the world for taking THE best care of its elderly.Another thing, in England, if tyou are sick, you can call the doctor and he will come to your house - as well as in most parts of Europe. The problem with Medicare is one and one only: CORRUPTION. Doctors/hospitals forging bills to milk the system.Another obs here: we Europeans have far better health than Americans
Sure docs will come to the homes of the elderly. Home treatment doesn't cost much. No fancy machines, no life saving equipment or monitors. They have all kinds of home health setups-but try admitting 82 year old granny to the Intensive care unit. IMPOSSIBLE.
Not necessarily. How come in Europe doctors/hospitals don't milk the gov? There is a huge department covering/policing it. Besides, there is a list provided by Medical Association with price for everything hence preventing abuses/corruption. It would all fall on the tx payeres again
I'm here to bring out the OTHER side of socialized medicine. You have to remember Americans abuse their bodies-most sucking down on Heart Attack burgers (and proud of it!), McDonalds big macs with fries, KFC greasy crap, and as much lard as possible. One out of 8 have diabetes and I dare say MOST Americans have high cholesterol. Do you realize how much this is going to cost??
WHERE is the money coming from? MORE CHINA LOANS?? Sheeez. This is going to be WELL OVER a trillion dollars at least.
I have a master's degree and have been in the workforce for ten years. I have a decent job, pay wise, but I've never had a job that offered me health insurance. It costs well over 800 dollars a month to cover myself and my family. Then, an emergency room visit in the middle of the night last year ended up costing 900 dollars out of my own pocket! That was for two hours in the er. If I ever lost my job, I'd never be able to afford health care.
my sis broke her collar bone, and for emergency threatment she had to pay $500 dollars, and an addirional 500 for every single threatment after, plus thereapy and drugs, who knows how much that would cost, Thankfully she only had one theraphy session cause her injuries werent too bad, but we manage to find a clinic that charge us $50 instead of the outragious 500 they were offering at the hostpital cause she didnt have healthcare insurance. Shows how fuck up the system is.
dont even give me that garbage, I went to canada with my family, and my grandma who lives there had broken her back there and she got instant care free of charge. Besides, we dont have to be like them, the US can makes its own universal free or cheap healthcare too. All we have to do is want, and I for one dontm make $200,000 plus to pay taxes, and even if I had to, if a tradegy happens, Im taken care of.
BUT granny didn't go to an intensive care unit, did she. There is no such thing as "universal free or cheap." That's what I'm talking about Cool Aid: nothing comes for free. I actually would LOVE to see a universal health care but considering how Americans abuse their bodies and high HIGH HIGH HIGH rate of violence, I don't see how we can do it-plus the upteen million illegal immigrants that we routeinly treat-they get it all for free and we pay.
Well, people on medicare and have a supplemental, in the United States, would get all that taken care of for free (once the deductible is met). It's already here.
Have you noticed the fatter , the more milk-shakes, fries, double whatever, they ingest? I wish they would just opt ed out to commit suicide in a most faster way. i have two friends who are really FAT. I try and reason...They just LOVE to eat garbage plus they are too lazy to cook. I am an awosme cook and can pull out some kick-ass dinner in 10 minutes.
really then I must be immagening the over 60 million pple without a healthcare insurance. Funny thing is that it only works for under age children and the elderly over 65. And yes I do believe everyone should be covered, is both moraly right and to not actually do something about it would cost us more in the next ten years. I would LOVE the goverment tax stugg like high fat soda and donnats, if it gives us ALL free health care
it is absolutely not true. My family lives in Canada and just recently we were stricken with my brother's severe health issue and I cannot stress enough how wonderful they all were with him.I, myself, being not Canadian, was sick whene I visited them once, and also got immediate attention and care.

"I come from a VERY large family"-shows an irresponsible person from the very get go-if you can't afford to have that many kids-DO NOT HAVE THEM. Bleeding from what? Was it due to abusing her body? I don't know-you don't present the data. And if she did abuse her body, why should we have to pay for her lifestyle choices?
Osirysteamo, subscriber below, I agree with you. It is so sad and upsetting when I hear people say that Obama is a communist or a socialist because they are puttng a label on him, judging him, and stereotyping him. I've even heard it on Christian television and radio. I thought those were the people that cared about people and helping them but I hear a lot of Christian radio and tv judging our president and calling him names. It's not right.

Republicans, health insurance companies are feeding this idea that Obama is trying to socialize the health care system--Obama wants ALL people to have access to health care---it is something good. SAY NO TO COMERCIALIZED HEALTH--FOR PROFIT HEALTH CARE---SAY NO TO THE SYSTEM WE HAVE NOW--SAY YES TO A REFORM!!!1
osirysteamo 2 years ago 3
If you read between the lines, you would realize that nationalized health care would eliminate the government programs for needy people ie, medicare, medicaid, section 8, food stamps. Earning minimum wage would be enough for a person to have a place to live and be able to eat. But when a Dr. visit costs three days pay, or filling a cavity costs 4 days pay, or a prescription costs a week's pay, you give up. You are going to be on the streets anyway.
pepperlvb 2 years ago
We need the public option. The insurance companies will screw us without it.
The Republicans want to help the rich and screw the poor. They dont care about the majority of people.
They want to cut taxes for the rich, but then there is less money for social programs for the poor and middle class. Republicans don't want a public option, because there insurance buddies wouldn't be able to make as much money.
To the blue dog democrats, dont be traitors. Get back to your democratic roots.

Wow.

I wish your "TRUTH" was right because then I wouldn't owe over $20,000 dollars in health care bills because of someone attacking me on the street and giving me a concussion.

MilkyTwilightStudio 2 years ago
this should't be a race issue. health care is a basic human necessity. its really sad a "developed country" like the US doesn't protect its citizens, and you scorn "3rd world countries" like mine, Costa Rica which has a great PUBLIC health care system. EVERYONE is taken care off for FREE. even inmigrants. we have a lot of nicaraguans (1 mill, out of a total 5 mill. pop) and if they need help, its given for free. it should be a example for other countries like the US.

why are the jobs unwanted though
because Big Bussiness would give a job to illegal immigrants for below minimum wage ( a wage that a legal citizen would not choose because that's not enough to live off of), or they would offer jobs at a above minimum wage but no benefits.

The far left of the dems want a single payer health care system, which isn't even on the table, and a climate bill that places much stricter regulations than anything that was even proposed, and limits to executive pay, etc. And, in case you haven't noticed, the losers of elections have a strange tendency to think that the winners are grabbing power, i.e. the left during the Bush years, and yet the so called "power grab" is never anything more than a different set of ideals.

that Marxist murdered more than 100 million people? So, if we continue down the road this administration is leading us it is NOT dramatic to say that we are heading to bread lines; there

There absolutely is "rational opposition" but the left controls the executive and legislative & even "town hall" meetings are scripted events.
ScarlettKnights 2 years ago
The government "controls" banks for the time being because the banks couldn't control themselves and needed government money, as did the auto industry and health care will only end up in government control if the insurance companies can't get their act together and compete with the public option.
Also, the new deal didn't end the depression because it didn't spend enough. It took WWII spending to remedy the depression.
And the left can't even control the democratic party, much less congress
Crazyman1042 2 years ago
Crazyman1042:

There is no health care system that is fool proof. I know it isn't free. But if trends keep going the way that they are, the cost of health care in ten years for a family of four will be over $36,000. If we give the Insurance companies some competition it will bring those costs down dramatically.

I really hope that the Health Care Reform passes here, it's not fair to have our neighbors suffering because they cannot afford health insurance. The prices are outrageous, and unless you have a job that pays decently or have health insurance provided through your job, you really are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Cause people like money, but trustme, as long as they keep supporting them, people like me will remain without healthcare and worried of getting sick.
pjce3 2 years ago 2
You got it.

I had to wait close to 5 hours where during that time the nerve in my arm had started to erode from it being pinched from bone fragments and when I was finally shipped to another hospital I was charged 40,000$ in medical fees!
yeah great system we have here!

PierreElliottTrudeau 2 years ago
If you're not famous, rich, or involved in politics, you're screwed. Insurance companies have you where they want you. You pay into the system, but when you need care they pay "national average" which if you live anywhere near a city is likely to cover about 15% of your bill. At $5000 per day in the hospital you can go broke pretty quick!

Canadians and English come to America for health care because their gov't health care is inadequate to meet the citizen's needs...talk about waiting for a doctor's visit go in at 9am and get out at 6 or 7pm...and wait till nurses see thier wages cut to trim costs of health care under gov't management...the talented Drs and nurses will leave the profession or the country....
cecgm938 2 years ago

Eugenics is the self-direction of human evolution": Logo from the Second International Eugenics Conference, 1921, depicting it as a tree which unites a variety of different fields. Dude your a fucking idiot.
iownage100 2 years ago
I am well aware of what eugenics is. Not giving poor people or people with life long illnesses health care weeds them out. Thus with them gone the system is taxed less. That is eugenics, eliminating bad genes while preserving good genes. What other excuse besides eugenics is there for not treating the permanently ill or the poor?
poopsmudge 2 years ago
For all I care they can do it like the schools. They can have a public network of doctors, specialists and facilities. Of course the private stuff will still exist and in most cases it will probably be better. But I will tell you, when you are suffocating from an Asthma attack, you just want to breathe. The facility wouldn't matter too much at that point.
wfosborn4 2 years ago 2
A friend of mine went to the hospital with a heat stroke in Florida, was there for 25 hours and got a 19.000,00 bill? They are not doctors, they are there with the sole purpose of ripping ppl off and make a HUGE, INDECENT profit.
classicallady 2 years ago 2
WinterHaven 2 years ago
exaclt because of what you stated here: poor eating habits. Not to mention the large variety of side effects ppl get from overmedicating the population.
classicallady 2 years ago
Well, that's what doctors do-instead of addressing nutrition, they give you a pill. Got high cholesterol? No problem-here's prescription. I've known some people say, "I can eat all and anything I want-I just take these pills and I'm fine". Diabetics: "Oh yeah sure I can have this cake and sugar cola-I just take more insulin and I"m fine". It's how MOST AMERICANS are. I would love to see Health care reform, but how an we afford it?? *Most Americans* abuse their body!
WinterHaven 2 years ago
Not to mention about the hazardous, nefast effects of Aspartame. On your question here, if I am not mistake, Health Insurance companies gae until 2010 for the people to lose weight, regain control over their lives, avoiding bad habits or their health ins plan would cost as much as double.Winter , we are already paying for the uninsured through our taxesHospitals bill the gov. One of the things Obama is doing is revising ALL the ridiculous amount of money hospitals/doctors are charging the gov.

underbird 2 years ago
I have a rather open mind. All I was stating was where did he get the info from? I happen to be European living here for the past 9 years and know extremely well both Canadian and European systems. Someone who claims and places lies here just irritates the heck of me.Furthermore, I am personally involved with Organizing For America, the President's movement for health care reform. To simply say: BEFORE I place a comment, I either check the facts OR KNOW THEM BY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
classicallady 2 years ago 3
I would say any health care system is excellent from personal experience if one does not need to use it. But I see a lot of complaints about socialized medicine done by the people who DO need it. But there are complaints about private insurance too. But I do know in England nobody over 80 goes into the intensive care units, and "Do Not Resusitate" means "Comfort only". They dont go to the units like they do here. 85 year old granny who need open heart surgery is NOT going to get it.
WinterHaven 2 years ago
Funny because I studied/graduated there and what your are stating here is absurd. The UK is well known throughout the world for taking THE best care of its elderly.Another thing, in England, if tyou are sick, you can call the doctor and he will come to your house - as well as in most parts of Europe. The problem with Medicare is one and one only: CORRUPTION. Doctors/hospitals forging bills to milk the system.Another obs here: we Europeans have far better health than Americans
classicallady 2 years ago
Sure docs will come to the homes of the elderly. Home treatment doesn't cost much. No fancy machines, no life saving equipment or monitors. They have all kinds of home health setups-but try admitting 82 year old granny to the Intensive care unit. IMPOSSIBLE.
WinterHaven 2 years ago
Now what do you think the doctors are going to do with a national health care system since they are doing it medicare-MILK IT BABY! MILK IT!
WinterHaven 2 years ago
Not necessarily. How come in Europe doctors/hospitals don't milk the gov? There is a huge department covering/policing it. Besides, there is a list provided by Medical Association with price for everything hence preventing abuses/corruption. It would all fall on the tx payeres again
classicallady 2 years ago

In Canada she would have to wait weeks to start treatment. A broken collar bone is not considered critical.

dont even give me that garbage, I went to canada with my family, and my grandma who lives there had broken her back there and she got instant care free of charge.

WinterHaven 2 years ago
Well, people on medicare and have a supplemental, in the United States, would get all that taken care of for free (once the deductible is met). It's already here.

really then I must be immagening the over 60 million pple without a healthcare insurance.
