I read the ambidextrous comments and I wanted to add a note. Though my drumming skills aren't nearly as capable as my bass skills, I want to ask you if there would be any drawback to my style.

Most drummers cross their right hands over their left, right playing hihat, left doing the snare. But I do left on the hihat and right on the snare, and I can switch and play a different cymbal with my right hand and switch my left to the snare. I can cover several songs, but will I encounter any issues?

That is a cool way to play, open handed. If you set up your kit and cymbals to compliment this style of playing, you should be able to play or cover anything.

I'm left handed and it's funny, I never really thought of myself as ambidextrous until I started thinking about some things like, I throw a frisbee right handed. I bat right handed. I can't do these things left handed but I learned to play gold left handed. After 10 or so years of playing drums, it hit me that I was playing right handed but I did a lot with my left hand. So, someday, I will try to go all Mike Mangini. LOL

It's probably the audio editing program, or his headphones may be low quality. It can be very difficult to record right on the beat. But yeah I do agree his timing is consistently off, which means it's probably not his ability, but probably a recording flaw or something like that. :D

I'm just wondering, if you've ever seen DT play live and/or how many times you've seen them play. Because MP NEVER plays these songs the same way twice. I've seen them on 7 different occasions and add to that the number of DVD performances and Youtube vids I've seen and MP likes to improvise on his own parts. I've been playing some of these songs since they came out so I've incorporated much of the live experience into my own playing of these songs. I won't stop adding my own touch to them.
