it didnt strike the magazine because as you can see at around 0:45 the magazine is still securely in place, from where the piece appeared to fly off from, it looks like the upper part of the barrel shroud or some attachment was shot off as you can see at 0:40 if you look closely, just putting that out there for an interesting observation, im not meaning to troll or anything.
