The feel of the song seemed appropriate - as far as I can imagine - because it's so heavy and therefore relatively oppressive like all the black in contrast to the colour and the French chanteuse (sp?).

I think its about the air out side being polluted and the fact that the black goes back on to the ball and stuff so quickly is that their is a lot of pollution. I think he tries to keep his house clean. That's my idea any way. by the way love Rammstein it was perfect. ^_^

That explination helped valkyrie321. The coloful and lively innoncence of the ball and his home contrasted that of the cold, coporate, and dead city in which he was thrust into. Clever idea!!

I think this had less to do with pollution, as in the soul, fun and spirit. While the man is in the city, his spirit and soul is pretty much lost. The ball is an example of the spirit of the human. When the kids are kicking around the ball, it has color, but reverts to dark in the overwhelming darkness of the city. The city itself, consumes.

He finds his happiness and spirit in his dwelling, away from the denizens and all consuming power of the city. This is how I feel anyways. Brill!

I think I get it. I think its about how polluted the air is, that it just covers everything including all the colour out there and the only safety from it is in his home.

I didn't quite grasp the idea until I saw him go inside to wash himself and then I glanced up at the title and saw it said 'Air'. It just clicked for me and thats what makes the most sense to me.

This video is absolutely amazing, this shows so much about life and the real world, and Idk if this is pointing in this direction but I think this would be a good video to show like what Pollution is like in the world, show how making the world green, what changes we could have..

What a wonderful animation of what it can feel like to live and work in a city. Air pollution is the obvious physical cause of the black coating on everything. However, I can see a metaphorical layer to this video. I wonder if the creator intended that as well.

i speak german. trust me, it's not necessary to undestand the lyrics. they have nothing to do with the story. i think the animator chose Rammstein because their music creates a dark atmosphere and most of their lyrics are macabre and quite brutal.
