  • I've seen worse days in a Scottish summer

  • Sweet

  • Great video, shame shes no longer in the fleet anymore :( Where was you heading? MAN or LGW??

  • Great vid. though I would have enjoyed it even more if you'd have recorded till you got above the clouds!

  • that was nice

  • good video

  • I've been on a flight like that before. The good part about it is that shitty weather comes from the clouds so once you're above them, it's a beautiful day :)

  • Being from Florida I have seen it rain so hard you could not see 10 feet in front of you.

    Welcome to DisneyWorld.

Virgin has some of the best pilots and Richard Branson knows how to treat his passengers. He appreciates them.

  • May i just say, what a fantastic video!!

  • BAMF

  • This is the best!

  • Isnt it danerous to take off in heavy rain?

  • @OrginalKork nope, it's just as safe as when it's dry.

  • Whats the vapor that the plane gets above the wings called??? I wanna see if I can find and addon for my FS9 xD.... and Yes I know this is real life!

  • @Lew747 Yes a back door into commerical where I am from, but you have to buy your way out! Wasn't cheap as a student! Made it back after 200 hrs!

  • awsome!

  • Nice job capturing the water blast from the engines! Awesome!

  • FOK FOK FOK FOK, Mite...

  • the water swishing on the ground is an awesome effect to an awesome takeoff.

  • That my friend was a fucking good take off

  • Any turbulence, in this driving rain?

  • wow, look at that big, sexy wing. id strap two of those to my side any day!

  • did they use whole flaps

  • no, 10 or 15

  • Flap 20

  • screaming kids on a plane!!!! argh how annoying

  • @AIDANDPIP try flying from KATL to LLBG at like 12 midnight with an annoying child for the first three hours constantly screaming and crying.

  • what seat number were you in? great vid!

  • Looks more like England!!

  • @samimalmstrom nope it's orlando

  • @MrKingofgods this video is real

  • man, that was a long roll

  • flew on Barbarella in Dec 07 from manchester to MCO, lovely plane and the best landing ever back at manchester

good video giving fond holiday memories

  • hi dude.

    nice vid

and what seat was this taken from?

  • I flew on Barbarella back in 2007, leaving a much drier MCO for a rainy Manchester. It was a lovely flight with a very attentive (and attractive) crew! I can't believe this aircraft has left the VS fleet now - how sad. I hope Aerosur takes good care of her! Thanks for posting this video. The rain is quite amazing, actually... must have been nice to finally punch through the clouds!

  • Good video this one! Looks like that was a take off from MCO 17R? going to either LGW or MAN? I landed @ MCO once back in June '95 in similar weather, was not the best landing ever! mind you that was on a Monarch B757 coming from LTN via BGR, G-MONJ, #MON 095

  • wow when it starts to run not even the fastest racing car can reach this aicraft nice video thnx for sharing .

  • Damn shame G-VROM (Barbarella) is going to Aerosur. Let's hope they don't get rid of anymore 747's!

  • Why would they get rid of 747's?

  • Im not sure i was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are getting rid of their 747's slowly and gonna end up with the a340 in it's place.

  • in my opinion 747 is the king

  • Hell Yeah it's the king!

  • Flew a VS a346 to NYC 3 years ago and a VS 744 back. Both to LHR.

  • your to right the reason they say it is mainly so u have to pay to use the onboard air phones

  • I second that Lew . Sweet vid man

  • 0:11 - "Thats it baby, kick up some spray" !!

  • The main reason most airlines would implement the no electronic devices; is to simply make sure they have your full attention during the most critical stages of flight. A large failure here, and fumbling with a camera is the last thing you need to be doing in the event of an evacuation.

Good video though, long time since i've flew on VS (4 years)

  • the reason that cell phones are not allowed is because the towers on the ground can't handle people transferring that fast and therefore can overload the cell phone system.

  • amazing powerful engines on that 747

  • tis vid has made my day!

  • Fucking wiked vid, Best ive seen all day. It just goes to show how Powerful thoes engines are.

  • Hahaha...I have G-VROM in FSX! :P

  • ????????? co ?

  • i miss virgin atlantic! well only because i havent been on it sooo long. good video!

  • Looks V Heavy! going to orlando on virgin in oct. woop

  • ive been im back and ive booked for july 2010.

  • what a strange noise at 0:57?

  • just the aircraft raddeling

  • A combination of the flaps vibrating and the overhead compartments as the gear is retracted into the bays.

  • @Lew747 @ArtyomShipoff Actually, that noise was the undercarriage (main wheels) rolling so fast after the takeoff, and in combination of the brakes applied so it can retract. Flaps cannot vibrate.

  • Great Video 5*. Did you ask to film that or did you just start recording?

  • they really left Orlando fast LOL!!!

  • wow! condensation~~

  • what a take off -love those engines. mr lew how long was the flight. was it to gatwick or heathrow. and did you sit in the new bigger economy section.or buss class. nice vid, im singing in the rain just singing in the rain. my ansestors are from liverpool.

  • Thanks for your comment. I've forgotten how long the flight was, something like 7/8 hours. We was actually seated in the economy section (close to business class)

  • what i hate most is 6/7 or 8 hours flights . what i do is i don't sleep the day before the flight , i walk for shopping (don't use car) many hours before the flight , and then ,because i'm tired , i fall asleep on the plane . when you get up the flight is about to end . you didn't notice the 8 hours because you were asleep

  • to manchester or gatwick

  • Yes, video cameras arent dangerous. In my last flight flight attendat ask put it off during landing, but i think only phones and computers, and other things like that are dangerous.

  • i dont think that computers are dangerous. i was able to use my laptop on first choice to lanzarote in august. asked flight attendent if i could and she said yes???

  • Hmm, when some of the Qantas plne autopilot break, i think its last year, and it drop little, in news experts think it can maybe cause using laptop in plane... Butt maybe it depend plane, or using internet or not... But in my last flight i cant even use camera. Plane is A330-200 in that flight.

  • Well then i'm not sure. like i say i asked and they said yes, didnt use internet or anything, just watched a DVD cos the inflight movie was terrible.

  • Fab!, You have really captured the thurst off the engines blowing the water off the runway as the pilot lets the throttles go!.

  • Landing and takeoffs are the easiest to film simply because the flight attendants are buckled up just like you, so they cant really see you during those times. And kind of like Lew said, its not like they're gonna open the hatch and throw you out if they catch you. : )

  • Ok, so im flying to Melbourne next week, Can i use My video cam to recored the take off and landing?

I cant find anything on google?

  • There's nothing dangerous about using a video camera. Just make sure the flight attendents/crew dont spot you using it during take-off or landing, worse they can do is just ask you to put it away.

  • @spinydelta1 lol yeah. you can turn on your video camera when all of the flight attendants are done with the cabin check during take-off and landing, because they are not allowed too to stand when the seatbelt sign is on. lol. so they wont see you, not unless your seat is visible from their jump seats lol.

  • Great footage. Love Virgin Atlantic.

  • i love the condensation when u take off- fab!

  • I flew on Barbarella on VS15 less than a month before this, and was on VS 16 on G-VROY, 4 days earlier than this video.

    Excellent :D 5 stars

  • great!!! I have traveled with Virgin Atlantic, excellent aircrafts and pilots...cooool

  • BA pilots are better

  • KLM 4 live ^^ ! I have flown with Virgin Atlantic once, and the flight attendants were very nice indeed!

  • Excelent video (Y)

  • great vid..luv the spray when those engines kick in..

  • it took a long time to get airborne!

  • I got told in Orlando in thunder storms its better to speed up before v2.

  • hi! nice vid!! what model camera used in your videos?? thanks!

  • A Panasonic Lumix FZ7 highest resolution mode. Very good quality and frame rate from a digital camera!

  • great video mate, brings back memories i always fly virgin to orlando from gatwick and back, really want to go back there again, love the humidity in florida to lol!

  • you were not climbing very fast there mate!

  • Not surprising considering the high temperature and humidity!

  • im moving to florida soon and im flying with virgin atlantic from manchester

  • Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!! i flew with virgin in same aircraft last year i know this because it name was also Barebella i flew from Jamaica Sangsters intl at montego bay

  • well good boi :P

  • Very nice, love the VS 747s, beautiful! Awesome footage, looks pretty cold outside. Where did you land?

  • Cheers! Temp was in the mid twenties *C so was quite mild. Flight was from Orlando to Londons' Gatwick Airport

  • Good job and thanks for sharin!
