I've been on a flight like that before. The good part about it is that shitty weather comes from the clouds so once you're above them, it's a beautiful day :)
I flew on Barbarella back in 2007, leaving a much drier MCO for a rainy Manchester. It was a lovely flight with a very attentive (and attractive) crew! I can't believe this aircraft has left the VS fleet now - how sad. I hope Aerosur takes good care of her! Thanks for posting this video. The rain is quite amazing, actually... must have been nice to finally punch through the clouds!
Good video this one! Looks like that was a take off from MCO 17R? going to either LGW or MAN? I landed @ MCO once back in June '95 in similar weather, was not the best landing ever! mind you that was on a Monarch B757 coming from LTN via BGR, G-MONJ, #MON 095
The main reason most airlines would implement the no electronic devices; is to simply make sure they have your full attention during the most critical stages of flight. A large failure here, and fumbling with a camera is the last thing you need to be doing in the event of an evacuation.
Good video though, long time since i've flew on VS (4 years)
the reason that cell phones are not allowed is because the towers on the ground can't handle people transferring that fast and therefore can overload the cell phone system.
@Lew747@ArtyomShipoff Actually, that noise was the undercarriage (main wheels) rolling so fast after the takeoff, and in combination of the brakes applied so it can retract. Flaps cannot vibrate.
what a take off -love those engines. mr lew how long was the flight. was it to gatwick or heathrow. and did you sit in the new bigger economy section.or buss class. nice vid, im singing in the rain just singing in the rain. my ansestors are from liverpool.
Thanks for your comment. I've forgotten how long the flight was, something like 7/8 hours. We was actually seated in the economy section (close to business class)
what i hate most is 6/7 or 8 hours flights . what i do is i don't sleep the day before the flight , i walk for shopping (don't use car) many hours before the flight , and then ,because i'm tired , i fall asleep on the plane . when you get up the flight is about to end . you didn't notice the 8 hours because you were asleep
Yes, video cameras arent dangerous. In my last flight flight attendat ask put it off during landing, but i think only phones and computers, and other things like that are dangerous.
i dont think that computers are dangerous. i was able to use my laptop on first choice to lanzarote in august. asked flight attendent if i could and she said yes???
Hmm, when some of the Qantas plne autopilot break, i think its last year, and it drop little, in news experts think it can maybe cause using laptop in plane... Butt maybe it depend plane, or using internet or not... But in my last flight i cant even use camera. Plane is A330-200 in that flight.
Landing and takeoffs are the easiest to film simply because the flight attendants are buckled up just like you, so they cant really see you during those times. And kind of like Lew said, its not like they're gonna open the hatch and throw you out if they catch you. : )
There's nothing dangerous about using a video camera. Just make sure the flight attendents/crew dont spot you using it during take-off or landing, worse they can do is just ask you to put it away.
@spinydelta1 lol yeah. you can turn on your video camera when all of the flight attendants are done with the cabin check during take-off and landing, because they are not allowed too to stand when the seatbelt sign is on. lol. so they wont see you, not unless your seat is visible from their jump seats lol.
great video mate, brings back memories i always fly virgin to orlando from gatwick and back, really want to go back there again, love the humidity in florida to lol!
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!! i flew with virgin in same aircraft last year i know this because it name was also Barebella i flew from Jamaica Sangsters intl at montego bay

Welcome to DisneyWorld.

Damn shame G-VROM (Barbarella) is going to Aerosur. Let's hope they don't get rid of anymore 747's!
TopGunPilot01 2 years ago
Why would they get rid of 747's?
airwolff22 2 years ago
Im not sure i was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are getting rid of their 747's slowly and gonna end up with the a340 in it's place.

A combination of the flaps vibrating and the overhead compartments as the gear is retracted into the bays.

Fab!, You have really captured the thurst off the engines blowing the water off the runway as the pilot lets the throttles go!.
