I love this game. I got all 100% (That F'IN 1 Graffiti that's impossible to get took some time and I can't even remember how to get) and that got me all characters in the game to play as including all the enemies using skates (Spoilers) such as Zero Beat, and The cyborgs, And both the human for and Final boss form of Rokkaku Gouji!

And what he mentions in the cutscene is probably just meant for atmosphere, and wasn't intended to be plot relevant.

I'd assume the term "Rudies" refers to all the graffiti sprayin- roller bladers out on the street. Since the whole game is based upon the efforts of the GGs, the general term doesn't NEED to be used for the rest of the story. Similarly, all those references to crimes that happened are almost certainly for giving more atmosphere and "flesh" to the storyline. The whole thing is basically an intro, so there's no need to get too up-tight about a few moments not thoroughly covered from start to end.

actually the messages do show up again, just not the way they were in the beginning. They are foreshadows for future plot points.

For example: the 'prowlers at Dogenzaka Hill' are a rival group (forgot their name) that you later beat/conquer

they MUST make another one. I heard all this shit like, 1. they renewed the copyright in 2008 (true), 2. SmileBit were dismantled (true), 3. Sega said they'd not be making a new one (unsure), 4. They're release Jet Grind Radio on PSN and XBLA later this year / 2011... That last one better be true. I agree 10000% that this soundtrack is sick. Hideki Naganuma blew my mind. Thanks a ton for making this, it brings memories back big time. I want an xbox JUST FOR THIS GAME :(

You pick up beat on Choo street, he's the one who did the break in, and the prowlers are people you run into, it's basically hints on where to go and whats going down, that's why it's never mentioned again you fix the problems, as for the Rudies, it's kids with those types of inline skates that go putting up graffati, more information on them can be gotten from the original Jet Set Radio, as for how the skates do the boost, that's also explained in JSR

IMHO I felt that it had a bit of a fusion between hip hop and rave culture, because of the rather colourful, candy-raver like outfits on a few of the characters and the fact that the soundtrack featured alot of electronic music
