God said hello my name is God...right? or he said hello everybody my name is Allah? you children really believe this? and this song is Allah Allah Allah
the christian God and the islamic God cannot be the same God since christians believe that Jesus is God where as muslims believe he was only a messenger
Arron and his brother Mike were raised in a Sufi household (mother was Christian, father Jewish... converted to Sufism) and then they both came to know Christ later in life. So there are a lot of references to the mystical Islamic beliefs of Sufism. There are far more references to Christ in their lyrics than any Islamic ones. I have studied Sufism and it's neither excepted traditionally by either Islam or Christianity, but some believe could be the bridge from Islam to Christianity.
exactly :) im an arab muslim and i have arab christian friends who say allah when they talk about god/jesus. everyone's welcome to use it whatever language/religion :)
@thelostprologue Aaron's father was muslim. his mother was jewish. so he has arabic roots. allah simply means "god" in arabic. of course, when muslims say allah they don't mean the God of the bible, but they're still simply saying "god" in their native language. so Aaron saying allah in a song is nothing more than him saying god in a language that he is familiar with. which he is, seeing as he has arabic phrases in other songs.
@thelostprologue maybe muslim and christian fundamentalists would say so, but distinction is in different languages only. (english: God; arabic: Allah; bosnian: Bog; german: Gott; french: Dieu, etc.)
@mujosmc you just changed your argument. now you're saying the translation of the word God is the same. and you're correct. but you clearly stated "these two words refer to the same one" when they don't. and you said yourself " maybe muslim and christian fundamentalists would say so" so you must agree with me that allah never had a son named jesus, and the christian God isn't allah. learn to argue.
@thelostprologue Christians believe that God has a son, muslims dont. I am muslim so I believe that Jesus is a prophet, not a Gods son. Btw, do you know that there are many arab christians in Egypt, Siria, and how do they call their Lord?
There's one on the CD called "Allah Allah Allah." Given the guy's sufi parents, it's probably this song. It's also a very "last song on the CD" kind of song, and it is the last song on the album.
I really love this song. Aaron didn't say the name of the song and only spoke about twice at the show at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ. Did they close with this at this show?
Aaron's talking about the Christian God. "Allah" is used as the word for "God" in this context.
Although, I personally believe that God shouldn't be called "Allah", but i understand.

Allah is just Arabic for God. In either language is it is simply a title that does not refer to any specific religion.

allah does not mean a seperate god, or a different god...
this country is so brainwashed

@jmcman32 Except for the fact that the Muslim god is referred to as "allah." Allah, happens to be a very different deity then the Christian Trinity.

How ignorant can you all be? Allah is the word for God in many different Abrahamic faiths besides the Islamic religion. Read a book, man.

how ignorant can you be..?..
We live in america, Allah is Arabic, We are american.. It's a little odd to use Allah.
I know Aaron is meaning God, but, im just saying, ppl who dont know that, is going to think he's muslim and not listen to MwY
moosicninja09 2 years ago
What does being "american" have to do with the Arabic language?...are you implying english is the only language of ALL MIGHTY AMERICA?
