  • I've always heard that before he passed, Miles was interested in working with Hendrix, and it might've been him instead of John. No disrespect to John, who's brilliant of course, but it remains a fascinating what-if.

  • This is pretty good, but I don't think "The McLaughlin Group" is anywhere near this trippy.

  • I never even heard of this album but Dennis Miller mentioned it. Been checking it out in here & it's quite interesting to say the least...

  • Back again. I see its been two months. When I was 12 (1972), my uncle bought me Bitched Brew. I was 12 for Christ's sake. All I had figured out was the Partrige Famlly and the Jackson 5. I just started learning Black Sabbath. You can pretty much play Sabbath on one string. And I did! Then they stuck this in my ear. John McLaughin. Holy shit man, I was only 12! Twisted, man. Cat is twisted! Well, I was already smoking weed so I guess it was time. Blew my mind. Still does.

  • The electric piano work by Chick and Joe are spellbinding.

  • maaaaaaan;i have to catch up miles davis bad man

  • Great track, but you have to hear the whole album right through. the interweaving polyrythms are just sumptious and spellbinding, i, obviously don't have the vocabulary to cope with such a landmark piece of musical skills. i'm allways hearing something new every time i listen to this, love it !!

  • Amazing - true legend, transcendent of the limits imposed by merely being an instrumentalist - a guitarist, a saxophonist, etc - John McLaughlin and just about everyone in Miles various band are Supreme Musicians.

  • What a blend of sounds, instruments, musicians that create an ambiance of excitement!

Miles Davis was a great player

    Thanks for the post!

  • I really love the multi layered organized chaos of this album. Just like the universe ! Whatever drugs Miles and his crew were on when they did this I want some ! LOL !

  • Great holistic bands are---Melting Euphoria, Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Mother Gong, Acid Mother's Gong, Magma, Aphrodities Child, Jade Warrior, Steve Tibbetts, Patrick Bernard, Lost at Last, Larry Coryell, Shakti, Oregon, Kazumi Watanabe, Toninho Horta, Egberto Gismonti, Eat Static, System 7, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance, Magma, Sphongle, Bill Laswell, Stomu Yamashta, Here and Now band, Steve Hillage.

  • This album would be one of the best things to ever grace my ears on vinyl.

  • @folgio

Nice play on words there ;)

  • My mom heard 5 seconds of this, and instantly asked if it was chick corea

  • @wordupassholes Your mom is the coolest. I want to have sex with her.

  • @MrJsmoov123 ...I honestly don't know how to reply to that.

  • @MrJsmoov123 I second that.

  • @wordupassholes you have one cool ass mom bro!

  • @wordupassholes Cool mom.:)

  • "John McLaughlin" was my favorite cut on this LP because, in my opinion, all the fusion elements could be heard. This album received mixed reviews and a lot of negative griticism, but Miles was a master at his craft, and he knew what the future would eventually sound like.

  • good stuff
