I know many Muslims....we allow them to practice in Canada and encourage it. (do they encourage Christains in SA?) It is part of our constitution that Mulsims (and others) can practice without discrimination. As far as wife beatings ect. you imply there is much more here.... why? The law protects men and women equally here. What international stats do you have to show that Canada is a country of wife beaters? I know. This is very true... Honestly, I guess I'm just nervous. I want for everyone to be able to live in North America together. Have a good time, let everyone be who they are and not feel pressured to change. What I've been feeling so tense about lately is the possibility of laws changing... the basics of our countries being influenced by religions. I found out recently that the Sharia law might have actually been passed in Canada. That scared me. You have no idea how much that scared me.

It says in the Qur'an that we aren't allowed to kill our children, or anybody. It is their choice if they want to wear the Hijab or not, it is a test of their faith and their self-confidence. And by the way, my daughter is 14, she is very beautiful and she doesn't wear the hijab. I never force her nor does her father force her to wear it. She will wear it when she thinks she is ready. And also in the Middle East they do not kill their daughters. Only madmen do so.

I am an insider to Muslim societies, and I know that girls dont normally get killed for not wearing scarf, but many of them are forced to wear it. I'll tell you what, it's not Islam that causes this, but the strict Arab/Muslim culture and the wrong explanation for some verses of the Quran.I'm not trying to defend Islam;I'm neither religious nor Islamic.

I feel really sorry that she had to die, but she has to wear the hijab. All real muslims have to wear the hijab, it is written in the quran. I don't think it's safe for a 16 year old girl to live alone. Who would she live with. When she lives alone she will start to go astray by doing whatever she wants.
