Great stuff, love this song and love your cover of it. I attempted a cover at a recent gig (please see video response) - but I think there are a few more bum notes in mine!
@treble18dnu I am playing the keyboard in the key of G major, but have transposed down to E to suit my voice for this song.. If you have an electric keyboard, transpose to -3, then play they keys in G..

First and foremost, this is spectacular!!! This is the best version on youtube and you are officially NASTY at playing the keys. Question for u...where do I get the midi track to this song? I am trying to copy you on the video but it's very difficult because you're so fast...any ideas? Sheet music? All I could find were easy versions but I want the composition that you play...please, if you know anything let me know...well done man
@treble18dnu Thanks for the comments on this. This is my own improvised version of this song....Not sure about midi track. You may want to to check out a website called EltonCafe ( I think that is it); it has very good trascriptions of EJ songs, and I believe this one is one that site. Please subscribe....DSC
@alreltney The opening chords (although in a different key) to Where to Now St. Peter? and Amoreena are quite similar...very similar introductions to songs on the same album
Hey man, you're great with the Elton tunes - I have a request for you. Even though it's technically not an Elton song, there was a song he recorded with Roger Hodgson called Mr. Boyd. I'd love to hear your take on it!
chenlung1: Sure you can ask, but I have no intention (for this or future posts) of keeping songs in the original key if they do not suit my own vocal range. Elton (esp. in his early yeasr is a tenor), and I am more of a baritone.
It took me a minute to figure out you modulated through the keyboard to E Major pitch but you're playing in G. Right on! That is such a tough song to pull off. Keep them coming.

just wish the recording was a little clearer, would be nice to hear the keyboard with a little more fidelity, a bit tinny

@TableAvocado To my ear about the same tempo as the album version....granted, its my own version.

Into sounds much more like Where to now St. Peter than Amoreena. Just my observation. Regardless, a lot better than I could ever do.

This is one of my favorite Elton John songs. It's nice to hear someone play who feels so passionately about his earlier music like I do.
