  • This was the Jerry Springer show? O.o I wonder how did it turn from this into Tranny-slut land?

  • I just realized that we live in an evil parallel universe and somewhere out there Springer is still like this.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah it is amazing how he went from interviewing Oliver North to what it had become. Does anybody still watch Jerry Springer anymore unless they come across it by mistake? I mean seriously. They need to end his show already.

  • those two men would usually be two midgets rubbing up on a morbidly obese gogo dancer in a mudbath whilst wrestling eachother and hi5-ing the hillbilly audience....

  • 0:40 Wow, that guy called it.

  • I wish Jerry Springer would get back to this type of show in a way

Have a serious interview for the first half, and do the slutty stuff for

    the second half.Just a thought..

  • WTF is this?

  • Is this Jerry Springer? WTF today It´s a fucking freakshow!

  • Wow...NBCUniversal really ruined it. I used to hate it because it was a Donahue clone...but now I wish the Doanahue-type show would return.

  • @newstarcadefan Actually, it wasn't NBC who did it.

Two words to tell you where things turned: Richard Dominick! He's been the producer for Springer since 94, and he's the one who thought of getting the trashy guests. Everything else was history.

  • @darkpowrjd Actually, my mistake. Steve Wilkos' wife, Rachelle Consiglio, replaced Dominick, after the 18th season. It's not aired anywhere in my area currently, so I don't know if the fighting's been toned down or not because of her. Knowing NBC, they might want to keep Jerry if and when he stops doing this show for a news job at MSNBC or something. He's a good natured liberal (social and fiscal), so he'd fight right in at either MSNBC or Current!

  • Oliver North will never go on the Jerry Springer show today!

  • And then the idiots of this country (aka the south), got tired of learning, and it has turned into a fake wrestling match/circus so fat bitches and degenerates can waste their lives away and digress over that bowl of chips

  • @aidman110 Fuck you.

  • How did it get from this to baby mama drama?

  • talk shows used to be one hour and then they had to cut it half an hour witch was silly because it was better when they where longer

  • i watched it before it was trash tv and it was alot better they where talking about alot of things without fighting all the time

  • I can't exactly say this shows how much the show has "evolved".

  • @dcm1115 you mean devolved ??

  • wait there was always fighting on this show?

  • Which episode is the first one to use the "Jerry Jerry" chant?

  • Wait, what? Why didn't Sandy come out naked and start slugging it out with her mother? What is this show?!

  • look at that dirty big nosed niger

  • Huh, kinda like what Steve's show is now.

  • Comment removed

  • 0:40 Well, he called it.

  • Wow, he had Steven Colbert's haircut.

  • @TerrorBlack he in a way kind of looks like him in this

  • That's Jerry all right.

  • See, the irony is that the show would have been a lot better if someone got up and punched Oliver North.

  • what happened?! how did this show get turned into what it is now?! so innocent. they're just sitting there talking about well, old people stuff!

  • Notice how alot of the audiance was senior older gals back in the day XD

  • Springer: "But that's not all. Sandy has a surprise for you."

Sandy: "Mom, my name's Sammy now. I've had a sex change and I'm now your son. And that's not all. I've been sleeping with Dad for the last 15 years."

Mother: "You nasty little--*cue 6 minute long string of none stop bleeped out cursing*

  • Wow, what sparked the flame that is Herry Springer today?? There's none of this "my baby daddy" crap.

  • Either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

  • Definitely a far cry from what it is today. No fights! No who slept with whom! No "I had sex with so-and-so."

  • It was like Maury...but calmer....<.<....I wonder if he's ever ashamed. Well, if he is his money is wiping his tears XD

  • damn everybody was rockin the coke bottle glasses back in the 90's........ 1:43 even Sandy got her a pair!!

  • This was the first episode !?!?!?!?!?!? No jerry beads?

  • Yes, this was how it started...in the early years, they were trying to be more like Donahue, but after original producer Burt Dubrow departed and Springer was told his show would be cancelled if ratings didn't improve by Nov. 94, he allowed then-new producer Richard Dominick to gradually turn it into the human circus we know and love(?) today.

  • Was this when Jerry had his show taped in Cincinnati or afterwards? A friend of mine and his Mother were on Jerry's show around 1990 when it was taped in CIncinnati, They were discussing why teenagers should follow rules at home. Typical "I'm old enough to make my own decision's" "Not as long as you're living under my roof" arguement.

  • @mojorisen74 - It was Cincy...the move to Chicago took place the following season.

  • Jerry Springer used to be the show Intervention without malice and decadence...Now it's all about gay fatties coming out of the closet and want-to be pornstar bitches...

  • ..dang he got old. iz crazy how time can change ppl's appearance..betta take care of my own.

  • What the fuck happened?

  • @pimpman50 EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

  • Jerry's an intelligent guy and I agree with alot of his opinions/thoughts on issues, so I do like these early episodes. But the show was much funnier and more entertaining in the mid-late 90s...so I guess I can see where both sides are coming from.

Now it's just watered down and lame/predictable in every show.

  • if it was still lyk this i wud never watch it...jus bein honest

  • the largest drug dealer of all time amazing hes not in jail

  • God this show used to be boring.

  • he tried to do a donahue

  • Wow the show has really came a LONG way lol

  • he looks waaaay younger now

  • you all know what? i dont care how sleezy you all say his show is now

i like it and i think jerry likes it too, because he seems a lot more laid back and has a great time on it. the older more serious ones are just this uptight guy.

BTW you all need to STOP skipping his final thoughts. you would see this jerry talking in the screen if you really listen to that last last part.

  • When did it go crazy?

  • @cabo02 season 2

  • @MrRyder9 Nah it didn't even start changing until 1994 when Richard Dominick took over as producer...and didn't really get crazy (like in every episode) with the fighting until '97 or 98.

It's been a long time ago now, so the years probably blend together a bit.

  • Sleazy

  • am i high? is this jerry springer

  • love her dress

  • The last bit with the woman looks similar to the current show. Jerry does look like a kid too

  • 1:13 Think she was born a man?>

  • Jerry looks like a little boy playing dress up in his father's suit.

  • @ekocentric Yeah, he was 47-48 back then and did look kinda young for that age. If you see old footage of his Cincinnati mayor days in the 70s/early 80s he was really youngish too - ironic considering he looks like a grandpa now. I think the current climate of the show probably hella aged him, lmao.

  • peace yes that good

  • Wow, I never knew his shows were like this o.o changes with the times, doesn't it @_@

Well I don't exactly HATE the way it is now, it's funny sometimes. Sure it used to be a lot more respectable back then but you know, what are you gonna do now.

  • when did it change . wow used to be a controled debate

  • Wow...Jerry was interviewing Oliver North for his first show....how his show has changed. It really is depressing that something with so much potential has turned into a smut and sleaze peddler...

  • @gracebasherguy92 - Very true, but it's all about the ratings...as you saw, the first 3 seasons were nothing like what we know and love(?) today and more like a Donahue clone...when Springer was faced w/the threat of cancellation if his ratings didn't improve by Nov. 94, he allowed new producer Richard Dominick to gradually turn his show into the human circus we're familiar with...another factor was the successful debut of Ricki Lake during the previous season, which may have inspired Dominick.

  • unbelievable ^^

  • And THIS show turned into "I have sex with my grand-son"!? Only in America dude, only in America!

  • springer stop being funny after 2002.

  • JERRY JERRY JERRY

  • JERRY IS YOUNG ya jerry is way better now

  • i love the way jerry springer is now!!! its sooo funny!!

  • damn his show made sense back then

  • I have fond memories of Jerry Springer from his run as anchor on WLWT Cincinnati. I had great respect for this man, a figure who inspired me, at an early age, to have concern for ALL members of our society.

Now, he exploits the very inner-city and rural poor he championed in his early commentaries.

Maybe he was pushed by producers, but he went along--he did it, reveled in it, and profited from it. All this on the backs of the most vulnerable and destitute.

    Shame.

  • The fact of the matter is the jerry springer show is just laugh out loud hilarious!!!! Every time i watch i crack the fuck up!!!!

  • it was around 2001

  • i wish his show was still like this today

  • Uh yeah, I got a question ....

    Hey who does your hair?

  • It's like watching a British talk show...in America!

  • jerry, jerry, jerry.....

  • aww that's sad :'( would have been funny if everyone had broke out and said FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

  • Jerry Springer certainly allowed his show to slip down the smutty ladder...I never realised it may have actually been worth watching once.

  • @frankophille That may be true, but Springer's show in the beginning wasn't all that different from Phil Donahue & nothing about it really stood out. Plus, Donahue's show was cancelled not 2 long after Springer started, so 1ce the guests got wilder & more crazy & Donahue had to make his exit, Springer inadvertently hit on a formula that worked. He would have been cancelled himself had he not had the foresight 2 adapt & 4 better or worse, he's now going to be an unforgettable name in pop culture.

  • @frankophille Jerry Springer is a host, the producers called the shot. People just didn't watch that show until it became trash tv.

  • @frankophille he was going to lose the show..... you gotta do what you gotta do

  • @frankophille That is completely subject. 3+ million views says otherwise.

  • wow... how much it has changed

  • wow what a difference from the jerry springer show now

  • wow.

to look at this you wouldnt even believe how his show turned out.

  • See, its clear that what happened here is that we started with a decent, serious discussion show. Then analysts look back over broadcasting statistics and see spikes in viewer ratings for particular shows. These shows were probably the ones that had a little more conflict or heat to the debates - the general public lap that up. Eventually, some fat cats got thinking... what if we made that happen EVEN MORE! The start of the demise so to speak. Downhill chasing the dollar from there on lol

  • Oh my gosh, his show actually had substance back then!

  • would have been better if the daughter had changed into a man. ahaha

  • the show wasn't popular...Richard was the brains behind the arena like mayhem we see today! Sex, and fighting...sells!!!

  • believe it or not Jerry Springer first two season he had really serious topics, David Duke, Clearance Thomas and other controvisial topics. you look at the show you would never think this is the same guy hosting due to the topics now.

  • I wonder when things took a turn for the worst? When the 1st fight or the 1st nipple slip occurred? Who was the smoking gun?

  • Back then and now.......big difference

  • I can't believe how innocent and well-meaning this show used to be.

  • @FuryBrand220 I guess it goes to show how much the public has changed from then until now. The show only changed with the way people changed. Talk Shows now a days are all about fight before they used to be meaningful like this.

  • @FuryBrand220 It pays to discover

  • Those were the days when Jerry was all quiet, way before all those fights, racists, chair throwing medlees, strippers, people taking their clothes off, flashing their boobs, Klans, and Steve Wilkos.

  • Wow! Springer at his best in 1991.

  • Love ya Jerry ;))))

  • Unbelievable... how on earth did the JS show become what it is today...

  • the old producer of the show got replaced, and the new one took over the show into a trash white show for hill billies.

  • Plus, the rating were very poor, so when the new producer made it "into a trash "all race" for hill billies" show the ratings sky rocketed.

  • my god its actualy a normal tv show....

  • In "Jerry Springer - The Opera", Jerry says, "I don't do, never have done, and never will do conflict resolution."

This clip proves the "never have done" part isn't true.

  • where the hoes at????

  • OLLIE NORTH!

    OLLIE NORTH!

    HES A SOLDIER!

    AND A HERO!

    AND A NOVELIST!

AND NOW HES ON FOX NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

American Dad - The Search for Ollie Norths Gold

  • fantastic episode!

  • What went wrong?!

  • i like this better

  • WOW I'M SPEECHLESS

  • how come?

  • shit! who can tell me when those brawls, midgets and transexuals started to came out?

  • He changed the format to the degenerates and threw away any platform to be of any positive influence in the world a few years into his shows. Maybe he knew he would never be taken seriously and always viewed as a sleazebag since he got caught paying a prostitute with a check back in 1980 while running for governor of Ohio. Go Jerry. Rah. Rah. Please give my double-wide an extreme make over.

  • Sorry I cant write more. Jerry's on and then Steve, gotta go.

  • I think you'll find he only presents the show, he has little, if anything, to do with its content or production.

  • No, he is one of the producers. He also is executive producer of the Steve Wilkos show. Perhaps in the beginning it was like that but not now that he grew to mega stardom on trash. :)

  • whoaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........wow O_O

How the fuck did the show go from this to what it is now,if only jerry saw these clips from his old shows though i gotta say the newer show's don't make you fall asleep

  • Over the 17 years people criticized the show because of the fights. But no one is forcing them to watch! Besides jerry is just trying to make it in the world like every one else!

  • This might sound crazy but i actually liked the show with or with out the fights LOL!

  • This was in 1991 when the show was calm and dull; The fighting started in 1992 between two guys that were racist to each other, since then we had fights on the show ever since.

  • Do you know if there is a clip of this on youtube?

  • lol i remember this. lol it used to be politacal and about people seeing they havnt seen in awhile and now it is white trash rednecks fighting over transvestite hookers. i love the new ones more

  • Springer for McCain's vice!

    McCain 08!

  • Sweet!

    Springer Rocks!

  • damn near fell asleep

  • Lol he has a cowlick!!!

  • Jerry kind of looked like Harry Anderson or Dave Coulier.

  • So where's the stripper pole? :P

  • This was when Jerry was decent, had some class. Now, he's the ringleader in a circus of sex, scandal, etc.

  • Jerry: "You are about to meet your daughter, Sandy, who you have not seen in 2 hours."

Sandy: (comes out in stripper clothes and throws food at the guy talking about how California is banning smoking in restaurants, and starts screaming)

  • Oh, and don't forget about the lesbian transvestite midgets.

  • Not offense to Jerry but he looked sort of bigger/fatter back then!

  • Tell me about it! When exactly did the show start to go bad. What happened that made it take the turn it did.

  • It started to go bad when the ratings were low. I don't know what it is with talk shows and ratings. These days, everybody wants to rule the talk-show world. (And if you miss the 80's reference in that, you should be ashamed!)

  • I was born in 1989, so I am not exactly familiar with the 80's lingo!

  • "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears

  • i would like to watch whatever sparked the transition from this to what it is today lol

  • If I'm not mistaken, it was a klu klux clan piece made after the Giraldo one. Their ratings, which had been pretty poor, skyrocketed and they started doing more and more controversial shows.

  • Type in watch?v=80Tg6V2HJVE after the YouTube slash, and at 1:47, you'll see some black racist son of a bitch who doesn't know how to control his temper.

  • Not to be racist, but that's why some people say "the nigger started it," because of the earlier fights that occurred on "Geraldo" and "Morton Downey Jr."

  • hasnt changed a bit lol

  • oh my god it was so calm and boring back then hahaa
