Sampling only pisses me off when the artist doing it doesn't make the track his own. Some rappers and hip hop artists will just take a track, sample it, and add nothing creative to it, pretty much surviving on how good the original song was. This track, on the other hand, is how sampling should be. It's originality and creativity stems from the mix and the lyrics, not straight from the quality of the songs it samples.

Their uniqueness lies in their willingness to push the envelope and how they openly married the rap to the rock music creating their niche. @afromann556 remember, there were no laws about paying royalties to artists if parts of songs are used in other songs. Many people in the 90s did this until the law was passed and everyone tried to make their own beats, which most failed at and others prospered.

It's called sampling and is kinda a cornerstone in rap music.

@afromann556 not exactly, beat a bit out of pitch / more reverb etc. . . but it's a technique of the genre.
