I remember our chorus teacher telling us about his pole vaulting accident. He had just recently gotten a new pole and was trying to get his steps down. Since his track meet was the next day he toned it down a bit. When he let go he fell strait down and messed up his lower back. Then the next he went to the track meet the next and didn't run his fullest and he did the exact same thing. Never pole vaulted again....
