Maybe this was addressed already, but does anyone know why he didn't just back in to begin with? I have never driven anything but a conventional tractor so backing in is a must, but in this case it seems that would have certainly made life easier leaving.
@Dendiol Not very skilled just plain idiotic he should have seen the dangers and complications with the situation and he should have backed it in, in the first place. Not skilled just stupid!
i drove a dustcart for sita recycling and hit a car in a block of flats and totalled its rear nearside,it was parked on a sign painted on the road saying NO PARKING,and what did sita do,they paid for the damage,as regards people who slate the way some hgv drivers get out of tight spots i would say to these people whats the biggest vehicle you have driven, they usually reply their car, enough said
@barryjames46 When I worked at a supermarket about a year ago the delivery driver couldn't fit in the loading bay as there was a brand new BMW M5 parked in the way with a man sitting in it, so the driver get's out and asks him to move the car owner replies no I'm waiting for some one, the delivery driver asks again and get's the same answer. So the delivery driver get's in his cab and reverses it straight into the BMW and rights it off! The car owner get's out and calls the police the police....
@barryjames46 Turn up and say "he had the right to do it, it clearly says no parking on the floor and you didn't follow the order", The BMW owner got a written off car and a £500 fine and the delivery driver got a scratched lorry and compensation for the accident. That's how it should be!
cant see y he didnt do as dutchfloyd says but also y he didnt just bump up over the kerb a bit when it was getting a bit tight......think he may be what they call a "WHITELINER"
it looked like it was only luck he didnt take the car out, it was in his blind spot so wouldnt have been able to see it, he could have just got out and had a look. i agree with most people that he should have reversed in
@finneyno7 its easy to say he should have reversed in but Ive drove in somewhere like that thinking it looks wide and there will be a turning area or a one way system only to find there isnt and I have to reverse out. It happens to the best of us, just like I twated the rear end of a trailer on a post due to tail swing when driving on monday, doh!
@finneyno7 Seeing as it's illeagal to park within 15 meters of a junction, it would have been funny to see how the car driver was going to explain it to the police and his insurance if the truck did hit him.
@1who2what3where4when the car was statoinary, of course its badly parked but that doesnt mean you can just crash into it it! no damage done in this case, was just saying it was a close call
@george20y - I get it all the time in my job, I drive a dustcart, and it is amazing what 26 tonnes of dustcart can do to car parked right on a corner, triangular car anybody? lol
At the beginning I thought the dude in the yellow was gonna get run over lol. That's probably how I would get out of that tight spot, (I play euro truck simulator)
Why is this tagged with 'Dangerous Driving'? Nothing dangerous there. Banksman could have been more use and that car is in the way, but it's hardly dangerous.
@do2morenomatterwhat not necessarily. he may well have been loaded when he drove in, tipped in the yard and chose to back out.. empty trailer wont cause excess tyre wear.. it would have been harder on tyres and axles backing in even on his own side if he was loaded. still he made hard work of it
tippers tip, agi's pour, curtainsiders and refrigerated vans unload. you unload cars, machinery and steel from car carriers, drop deck floats and flat tops. belly dumpers dump...and so on and so on. just lorry talk mate!
Ok, I'm a lorrydriver myself, just to start with... If i was him (driving a right-hand-steer vehicle) I would have turned right (that's left for the viewers) up the main road. Than pullled forward and reversed into the yard he just left. once done, turn left and voila. no risks, and no "over 90 degree turning"...
@DutchFloyd You`re quite right sir! There`s nothing more to say, besides that an experienced Driver would never enter to the yard forward without noticing the circumstances before...
the driver reversed out of the tight yard through the gate tight on drivers side in a one'r by himself as soon as the security chimp got involved it all went to COCK lol
@robertdavey6 I'm a driver too and I was sure the overhang was going to catch the Astra, especially when he took the third shunt. What really annoys me is when people that can only drive cars call some of the manoeuvres that we have to perform "bad driving" when in reallity it's their ignorance!
the car from 2:40 is too close to intersection, should be at least 15 meters

he's obviously not paying for trailer rubber!! surely a better option would have been to reverse into the yard from the road then just drive out.

low bridge or width restriction could force a hgv driver to do that to you car! i do it for fun if i know the car owner is parked illegal or stupid

A lot of people "guiding" you back, just wave their arms about. No real directions at all. Usually, I wait until someone shouts STOP!!!!!!
