It is a super move aswell. In the Ultimate Ninja video games, they severly weaken super characters like Four Tailed Naruto and Itachi (with his Mangekyou Sharingan). This is to make the game a bit more fair :P

Think about it, Itachi vs Orochimaru

At the start of the fight they look into each others eyes.

So it's like;

Ready....

...fight!

Mangekyou Sharingan!
