Man, I remember seeing a caption of this in Gamefan magazine back in about 1994 and I was PSYCHED about the PC-FX, I literally wanted to get one when it came to North America (which it didn't, and now that I see what kind of games actually came out for it, I'm glad I never got one). I thought this game would be like Virtua Fighter or Tekken but better, unfortunately it was like Battle Heat but not as cool.
so it,s acualy is a controleble animation?? but for more freedom moements it will take millions of frames to do that in it would be very inpractical as every gamer would,ve play this game randomly on it,s own way.
This game was going to originally appear on the SNES using the Super FX chip that was used in Star Fox. Hence the name "FX" Fighter. But soon later cancelled due to unknown reasons between Nintendo and Argonaut.
this is not 3d, it's a sort of interactive video, all the stuff is prerenderized, that's why don't see the fighters hitting each others or moving around
not to mention that there was already a proper fighter out on the PC called fx fighter, which had among other things cd quality music (in fact, the music was in a cd player readable format).
A bunch of FMV sequences. It's like a slightly more interesting DVD menu system.

Isn't that girl the same one who screams "BY HUD-SON!" in Bomberman Fantasy Race?

and this is why 2d fighters will always be superior. unless it's vf, that game ran on lockheed martin's technology and didn't need to use fmv.

This isn't realtime polygonal 3D like Virtua Fighter or Tekken.
FX Fighter is pre-rendered CG played back via FMV.

This like the next generation of Sega CD FMV games.

I love the 1995 FX Fighter game (by Argonaut), not this one.
But it was nice to hear a japanese girl pronouncing "FX Fighter", LOL.

Not bad for a system that didn't have hardware 3D.
