I've heard Homefront's campaign is way too easy, scripted, and linear to be all that fun. I've heard that the tragedy is so forced in your face that the game is actually hard to take seriously. It doesn't let you have any freedom...
I just picked up the game i'm not that far into but you do need to be lets just say a bit imaginative with the story lets be honest north korea taking over the world let alone anything is kind of ridiculous i mean its a nation full of starving people that almost completely relies on foreign aid just for food as well as the fact that it has almost no allies
I thought the campaign was short but it was good. Also the multiplayer was wicked fun u started with some pretty good guns n u can get vehicles when u have a kill streak. Also there was at least on map were u could climb up into tree houses n tht was fun

I love how Homefront assumed that a civil war in the Middle East would somehow completely cut off the US oil supply and cripple its economy. I guess the writers didn't know of the vast oil reserves in Alaska, Canada, Northern Gulf of Mexico, and North Dakota...

My problem with this game, the developer THQ. They make games with so much potential like this and Red Faction Armagedon, but they turn out to be awful. If this was made by someone like DICE or Epic, it would have been the best.

not played the campaign yet, but i got this game for €5 on pc and i have to say the multiplayer is awful! i miss my €5! the drones are fail, the veichles seem a bit random, and the whole game is buggy as hell!
when you die there is no killcam... but occasionally it might show you who shot you if it feels like it and you might see what gun they are holding, and the game just ends abruptly when the match is over, the waiting lobbys take forever, and some matches are over in like 30 seconds

@videogamewizard90 You know that not all games should have Minecraft's graphics, the reasoning is that games' graphics are themed with the tone and vibe of the game. Homefront is a serious, gritty, and action game, therefore it pairs well with realistic (no fantasies, i.e. "serious",) high quality graphics. But you're right, appearance and ambience aren't defining, but the seeming nature can often convince people that they are having fun. True for everything, I believe.
For me, HomeFront is way more fun than any other FPS out there. It's multiplayer is great and unpredictable, and its campaign hits an emotional weak spot for everyone. More often than not I found myself looking away from the screen for a disturbing death or moment, but I was propelled by anger to kill the enemy and make them pay. That's what sets this game apart from the others, it packs an emotional punch.
I loved this game, I wouldn't play this a second time since there's no way of varying how you tackle missions, but I would have liked there to be less Korean guards and more of a focus on the quality of the Korean enemies, not just sending them out en mass. Other than that great game, interesting.
The only thing that doesn't look good to me is the fact that none of the guns have any kick, I mean watch the weapons they never kick back or really even move when you shoot. its not a huge deal its just Im used to other shooters that have it.
Ign crossed it, I'll give'm the campaign. But the multi-player is very fun and graphics are not dated in my opinion. I have over 20 hours playing this and other FPS's and homefront is definetly over 7.
Buying this was a mistake. Not worth $20. should be 3 to 5 for the amount of content in it. Duke Nukem Forever and Homefront should exchange price tags.
this game is not that good. its such a copy of cod. excact same controls. the story is quite simple: bad guys invade country, you join resistance and fight the baddies off. gameplay is really repetitive: you use your targeter to laze targets for Goliath or hold off a bunch of enemies or kill rpg/emp soliders. to me the gameplay felt slow and clunky. i rate this game 2 out of 5 stars. *prepares to defend self from hate comments*

Just got this game today through a load of Christmas money, i think ign really have crossed the line here. This game is immersive and a welcomed breath away from the mainstream repetition of cod and battlefield that ign praise so highly. The multiplayer is fresh and the campaign (although not exactly lengthy) was one of the most fun times I've had on a console this year. Ign needs to reward where it's needed and not jump on the mainstream bandwagon. 7? Really? I mean come guys seriously

this game is not that good. its such a copy of cod. excact same controls. the story is quite simple: bad guys invade country, you join resistance and fight the baddies off. gameplay is really repetitive: you use your targeter to laze targets for Goliath or hold off a bunch of enemies or kill rpg/emp soliders. to me the gameplay felt slow and clunky. i rate this game 2 out of 5 stars. *prepares to defend self from hate comments*

there is no difference in this game or mw3. the graphics are the same, the guns are the same. and actually the gun sounds are better in this game. mw3 is just so commercialized that everyone says they like it. battlefield 3 is by far the best tho

Just got this game today through a load of Christmas money, i think ign really have crossed the line here. This game is immersive and a welcomed breath away from the mainstream repetition of cod and battlefield that ign praise so highly. The multiplayer is fresh and the campaign (although not exactly lengthy) was one of the most fun times I've had on a console this year. Ign needs to reward where it's needed and not jump on the mainstream bandwagon. 7? Really? I mean come guys seriously

I just got this game yesterday for Christmas. It is actually pretty good. Funny how MW3 is basically MW2 and looks the same, yet MW3 gets a 9.something and this gets a 7. Yeah the campaign is short, butit is fun. Every game does not have to be revolutionary, which MW3 was not.
