  • ROTTEN TOMATOES, U R FULL OF SHIT 4 DRAGGING ME HERE...

  • amazing amazing amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

  • Damn, that guys got more balls than Genghis Khan.

  • why is it illegal?

  • @Nadia2015 They sneaked into the building to pull it off; with no permission from the building owners for it, they'd be at best trespassing.

  • X-Ray Dog – Ascension

  • what is the song at the late part of the trailer man on wire?

  • Comment removed

  • Wait, so this movie is about him walking on a wire between the world trade centers, but they didnt even film it WTF???

  • @ValleysOfMe They did film it,,

  • @JJpmfc AH ok thanks

  • I'm ignorant to to this story, why is it inspirational and bringing people to tears? I really don't know but why is this daredevil universally loved?

  • @TheLegendOfRandy It is like seeing a man jump in a volcano and survive.

  • @TheLegendOfRandy It's inspirational in that Petit is a man with a dream that consumes him and he must act upon it. When I saw the film, I was really inspired too...not to walk between buildings, good lord no; but to stop listening to people who say something can't be done.

  • @tpuppy78 Thanks for the response, very well said. I love cinema, but this doesn't seem like a piece I would particularly enjoy. Just glad to finally understand what the mass appeal of this movie is all about.

  • this movie was OKAY. did they buy hollywood or some shit?

  • "Why did you do this?"

    "There is no why."

Holy shit, ha one of the most insightful things I have ever heard.

  • i heard of him at schoolthey were reading a book about him but i wasn't cause i couldn't really speak english.. then after 2 months i typed net on google imagines randomly and i saw his picture and i couldnt remember who was it but i remembered that he was the man on the wire and i searched for his name and typed it on youtube and got more interested..

  • that line at 0:44 is one of the best quotes i have ever heard

"Its impossible for sure...so lets start working"

like damn that is the most inspirational thing i've ever heard...

  • 1:52 Those words...

  • My dad was working security that day on the world trade center and he was offered a bribe to let him go up haha

  • One word:

    FRENCH... ayayay...

    Another crazy mindblower: Alain Robert.

  • Amazing.

  • lol how is this movie even popular ?

    Dean Potter

Alex Honnold do things like this but require much more skill

i bet its a well made documentary tho

    watch?v=leCAy1v1fnI&list=LL5QCsarCQv18Y2myNY7usuw&index=6

  • @WeBeChillin420

i didnt even know it was a proper film when i watched it

  • @WeBeChillin420 "how is this movie even popular?"....yet you haven't seen the movie--dumb

  • He deserves a medal or something. How could he do it , he is freak of nature . Was so gald i watched this on tv the other night, instead of all the other 9/11 things. But why isn't this so popular , i only first heard about him now? They need to make a movie in the cinema on this He was on there to for nearly 1 hour.

  • Malcolm Mcdowell speaks french?

  • great doco

  • Man, i wish i could have seen it live.this guy should do this again at the Twin Towers....oh wait...

  • @flexwheelR :(

  • rogan

  • anyone know the song played in the background from 1:10 - 2:00??

  • @ObnoxiousPelican Ascension by X-Ray Dog

  • This is my very FAVORITE documentary. Even this brings the tears to my eyes and makes me gulp.

  • He did this 2 days before Nixon resigned the office.

  • Anyone know the song of the second half of this video? Plzz im so desperate!

  • Does anyone know the title of the song played in the beginning of the intro?

  • This is pure artistry, without boundaries, only a breathtaking will to inspire.

  • this movie is a scam, 1 hour of drama and footage of everything, the guy eating, fighting, travelling, but there is no damn footage of the guy walking between the fucking towers. WTF.

  • @SkullFilms you didn't see the correct movie, try again.

  • @SkullFilms

He did do it. There was just no movie camera up there to record it. They had it, but it was too heavy and they were too tired to rig it up so they never got to record it, but they have photographic pictures, and hundreds of thousands of people that were witnesses to it.

  • Amazing.

  • What a beautiful mentality to have about life..

  • i really want to know- did he die?

  • @Royours Obviously he didn't die if he's interviewed. lol He's at 0:45.

  • anybody know the song at 1:04

  • @willscoaster x-ray dog ascension

  • @willscoaster....it is called Fish Beach its from the Man on Wire soundtrack...enjoy!

  • @beatlemania5 my mistake it is Ascension by Xray Dog :)

  • @willscoaster my mistake it is Ascension by Xray Dog :)

  • recently watched this film. it's so great. it needs to be viewed in classrooms more often.

  • the best movie i have ever seen! as the USA Today wrote this movie is BREATHTAKING!

  • 1.20 who knew John Mcain was into tightropes?

  • There is no why........

  • he is angel

  • whats really amazing bout this story is the way the american authorities viewed this event....typical american ignorance and retardation....no wonder the world views the usa and its people with such contempt

americans are nothing but idiots who else presses charges and then deports his friends for doing something that didnt harm any one....typical american idiots the only thing funny about america is when a terrorist attacks them....

  • I liked the film, but Philippe Petit's an asshole. He really screwed over those who made his experience possible. I liked his passion, but in the end, he wasn't grateful for those involved who risked their own ass to help him.

It documents him using people to achieve his goal. Immediately upon achieving his goal, he cheats on his girlfriend and could care less that his friends get expelled from the U.S. He's the most self centered person I've ever witnessed.

  • @alwaysauthentic1 lol yea seriously between him and the american authorities i dont know who were the bigger ass wipes....probably the americans because at least philipe who is human and was inundated with fame did what was only natural...the american authorities did an unnatural thing i can see if someone who wasnt involved was hurt by this event MAYBE pressing charges, but other wise the only thing that was hurt was the ego of the police (cops deserve to be killed) and security

  • @ilovealexjones1 When you throw American authority into the mix...hands down their much bigger assholes, or any authority for that matter. I disliked how the Philippe dude had no loyalty toward his friends. I was really surprised this wasn't a common theme among these forums. If he did fall, those involved could have been charged with murder & all kinds of stuff. He gets a parade & his friends get permanently expelled from the U.S. He could care less. He never talks to them again.

  • @alwaysauthentic1 disagreements with American authority, and the legal system for that matter. You are very, very annoying, and I wish that you would please stop with your comments. Your analogical comparison between Go Daddy and this movie was nothing less than idiotic. How are the depictions of women in any way analogous to this documentary? I would love to know what constitutes your lofty existence, and what makes you better than Americans and everyone who enjoyed this documentary.

  • @alwaysauthentic1 But thank you for your failed attempt to teach me something over a youtube video. I hate responding to people like this, but I can tell that I really hate you. I'm so glad that bashing people and spreading nonsense via convoluted, half-witted stupidity fills your pseudo-intellectual mind with satisfaction. Have a nice day, and fuck you.

  • There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity.

  • @mootleRoll yea and you are just a stupid piece of shit...typical american jack ass...so some guy doing what he wants to do...basicly achieve his dream something he has been training for and preparing most of his life is stupid ??? next time you come close to achieveing your dream (which you wont you are a piece of shit) just remember how stupid it is....

  • @ilovealexjones1

    lol why u mad tho?

  • @mootleRoll

So are you saying what he did was stupid?

  • i would probably throw up from seeing this.

  • ive always wanted to meet phillipe petit, he reminds me so much of me

  • @74project he reminds you of yourself....you must not be that great of a guy....you must have totally missed the ending of this movie if you even saw it...where they explain and he explains him self how he cheats on his girl friend immeadatly after and allowed his friends to be criminal charged (while he got off his charges, i mean seriously?? i woudlnt have accepted any plea deal unless it involved my friends as well) i doubt that philippe even saw his old friends again....

  • There is a children's book on this, i found during research from my children's lit class, the art, while nothing different from any other book in terms of quality, had such a massive sense of scale to it gave me vertigo, and the very last page said "Now the towers are gone."

I drop the book and just balled in the middle of the children's section of the library.

  • Great talkers are common. People with 'force of character' are rare.

Philippe Petit is a rebel who masters both arts and stands out for the crowd.

    Respect !

  • First Acrobatik day for Dimi in Trieste

  • I have never been to NYC but as a child (and still now) the WTC will always move my spirit. They were beautiful.

  • This is one of the best films I've ever seen, and it's a doco! Superb stuff, Petite is a riot!

  • Beautiful, Amazing!!

  • i just saw this movie. at the end i was so moved i cired. it wasnt sad, it was just...so beautiful. fantastic film.

  • this was such an amazing movie, everyone should see it

  • :) good muvi

  • what an incredible person....

  • A statue of the man in the wire could be the monument for 9/11 and a lesson to those who destroy dreams.

  • i was not born yet but ive read the book and seen the movie this is one of the best documentary

  • "life should be lived on the edge" HECK. YES.

  • He is definitely awesome! I read the book when I was in elementary!

  • god, i aint even high up and looking at him sitting on the wire sends chills down my spine!

  • i am afraid of hights i went to cnn tower in toronto canada and felt like i was gonna fall i was inside the building this guy is crazy or has diamond balls

  • Amazing story and wonderfully produced documentary. Thumbs up!

  • @mrfuzzer1 you dont make much sense, do you?

  • it's obvious that you couldn't understand art even if it punched you right in the nose.

of course there is no reason for it; but that's the reason why it's so beautiful.

  • LMFAO!!!

  • what is the second song?

    thanks!!

  • it's Ascension by X-Ray Dog.

  • @handyc24

    thanks man!!

  • no probs i love it too...how could you not.

  • I don't even know how this was such an amazing movie.

I've never seen a documentary movie like this before.

  • What an amazing documentary, what an amazing guy!

  • @Georgiecolding cant watch anything at bigmovies4free cos a stupid popup makes you enter a competition, anyone know where i can find this that actually works

  • VERY AMAZING

  • i've stored a pic from the film (the one on which Petit takes the first step) on my mobile and use it as a background just to remind me of what courage is and help me to go further in any case each time i look at it.

  • @niccseh1 that's ironic cuz i've done the same on my phoe for the same reason, haha. i saw that picture in a book called Trespass and i snapped a photo..as well as posted it on facebook.

  • This is an awesome film, well worth seeing on a theater screen if you can find it. Scary, inspiring and hugely entertaining. Philippe Petit must have been born without the fear gene!

  • @JoeRailfan

Yah, or born WITH the stupid gene.

  • Petit reminds me that there is greatness in human beings. My response to the film was equal parts wonderment and humility. .... part of the beauty-- his friends.

  • a word like amazing, unbelievable or extraordinary is not enough!

  • jak sie nazywa ta druga piosenka?

  • amazing movie. Both funny and emotional.

  • Absolutelly fantastic film!!!

What great courage, drive and fate in his own body!

  • i understand its a little harder these days ;)

  • That man loved World Trade Center.

  • Well if the world was full of people like you if they did do it they would be in prison and there would be no films made about it that's for sure.

  • what is the second song

  • awesome

  • whats the second song?

  • just in case you haven't found the song it's by x-ray dog ascension. enjoy :)

  • loved it. One of the most suspenseful films I've ever watched (even though that's probably got a lot to do with the fact that I'm terrified of heights lol)

  • whats the second song

  • This movie portrays why I prefer non-fiction over fiction.

No hollywood stunts for this one.

  • @crapcrap86

Couldn't have said it better .

If You saw something like this in the theater , You would call it Hollywood - exaggeration .

But we forget that reality is always stranger than fiction !

( Why does Petit remind me of Alex DeLarge ?! LOL )

  • @NexisFilms Haha I was thinking the exact same thing, looks like a droog to me.

  • @NexisFilms They look similar I guess :P

  • @NexisFilms I thought the exact same thing (about Alex) throughout the whole movie! But it was great.

  • @crapcrap86 Maybe you are not watching the better of the fictional films.

  • This trailer does not do justice to how beautiful and inspiring this movie truly is.

  • One of those documentries that if you have a little intelligence and a zest for life and humanity will stay with you for ever..........................................

  • Could not agree more, this film inspired me. It is life affirming.

  • One of the worlds best examples of Crime Does pay.

  • so inspiring!

  • what a film, simply amazing.

  • does anyone know the name of the music at the end of this trailor?

  • Yes, it is called Ascension....it is by Canis Rex I. Isn't it beautiful? I have it on my iPod.

  • no he lived.

  • I just rented this last night, this was awe inspiring.

  • Comment removed

  • O, exactly my thoughts. I just saw this movie this evening and it was like waking up. I have so much respect for that man for putting that much effort into something he really was passionate about, and just DOING it. Not just dreaming his live away. It made me realize that you should do something in your life that yóu believe in, no matter how crazy or impossible. I agree with you that this is far more valuable then only serving other people. I'm grateful for this reminder.

  • You stink of righteousness.

  • Buenísima película. Gracias señor Petit.

  • pretty decent film. Petit is one brave man. Respect.

  • I've seen it in cinemas.

It's amazing. The world needs more people like him.

    Artistic crime deluxe.

  • this movie is one I consider must see...

  • I believe the first piece of music is called WTC Heist Music by one of the film composers J Ralph.

The other piece has been discussed several times in the comments and is called Ascension by specialist movie trailer composers called X-Ray Dog.

  • Does anyone know the name of the two music tracks used in this trailer? Thanks!

  • thank you to screendooreffect.......one of the only people in this whole list of comments that knew that the song at 1:14is X-Ray Dog - Ascension

  • i bet he was really sad after 9/11...

  • Couldn't even breath when he hang on the wire. incroyable courage, nothing is impossible if you truly believe in what you do, you should go for it. I agree that he have the biggest balls in the world.

  • I just saw this documentary. It was inspirational in a way.

  • wats up with all these movies about the tower

  • you think the movie is about the 'Towers'?

  • just glad george bush didnt have a couple of boeings fly into them at the time.

  • Comment removed

  • you are so petty minded

  • Neosapience, listen to the Oscar acceptance speech of the filmmakers. They, too, urged their children to follow their dreams but to "not do what this man does." However, they still feel Phillipe proved that nothing is impossible, and that's why they made this movie.

  • If you want something in life, nothing is impossible, so reach out and grab it. He didnt say for every kids to do what he did but he wants us to conquer our fear and purse our dreams.

And life is not fun when you don't risk anything. He didnt show bravery, he's living his life to the full extent.

  • You need to see the movie.

    It wasn't for publicity.

    This was his passion.

  • @lunalovegoodismyhero and at lest he did blow the place up. hslike the real guy in alone in the dark part 5.

  • 1:46 - so true.

Petit had the biggest balls in the world.

  • this guy came to my local bookstore

  • Lol, he was fined to do linewalking!

  • I've cried a lot. Beautiful. Moving.

  • what's the song at 01:15

  • i found it! beautiful!

    watch?v=ZcmIBbxtqqM

  • Bravest man ever

  • With stil and fun, they made really a great and timeless docu. Maybe this docu heals some wounds of 9/11. we should remember the good things of the Twin Towers and not the worst end.

  • nice documentary. He sees life so differently
