I had the privilege of spending 2 weeks in Nfld in 1999 and I have always said, I never in mylife have had the experience of going some where I've never been and then after leaving actually feeling homesick for it, if that makes sense. I've been to many places in this fine world and Nfld is by far among the best. I long to come back some day and every time I hear this song it makes me cry a little and long for that wonderful land so far away.

Hows ya getting on? Im a true Newfoundlander right down to me feet. Just listening to salt water Joys kinda makes me feel sad for leaving home. A place like no other across Canada. The beauty and the fresh crisp air. Whenever I return home the smell of salt water that lingers in the air tells me, Im home now b'y! It's been two years now since I smelled the salt water and boy I can't wait till breath that good fresh salt air that only lingers for an hour.

Kevin from Buddy Wasisname is my first cousin, and I was able to see their show just last week in Mississauga. They were hilarious, for sure, but this song was my favorite part of the show.

My parents are both from NFLD, and I lived there when I was a kid, but we moved around with the Force until Dad retired in Ontario. I went back to NFLD as an adult, and even though I hadn't been there for 20+ years, I felt as if I were home. I can't wait to go back.

The first time I visted Newfoundland I heard one of their songs playing at a restaurant and asked the owner who it was. Fortunately he was a fan and told me where I could get a CD. I have been hooked on Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers ever since. Back home I play it all time, but find I have to go to the East Coast to find more of their music.
