the everly brothers also do a sweet version of his song, it was on YT but it's been yanked :-( it's pretty hard to come by as well, i knew i should have extracted it when it was up.
@HuxleyWasRight It's on YT now thanks to themanfromuncle. Yeah I have found similar hassles when i put up EB songs susch as the two RCA early 70's records (the only artists I have to this point).
LOVE this song, so sad. So well sung, those voices just caress your brain...so smooth. This record was one of about 3 that I could afford to own at that time, I was poor, but I bought this one...
Thanks for posting, I remember doing slow dance at the end of many a night out to this. They sure made beautiful music, Sadly John died of Cancer yesterday. RIP
This brings memories back. I was loved by someone but he never told me. I was sure he just looked at me as a good friend. So very, very long ago, but I still think about him. This is a song that brings it all back. Great music!
@spikeysmum Scott Walker is alive & well. Scott recently collaborated with Bat for Lashes on the latter's song "The Big Sleep" from her 2009 album Two Suns.
@spikeysmum he's more prolific and avant-garde these days, which is extremely interesting work. Check out his album "The Drift".... sounds like Tony Bennet on an LSD trip.
brillant but lets not forget the songwriters BARRY MANN/CYNTHIA GIBB...they are right up there along with GERRY GOFFIN/CAROLE KING..who wrote so many great ballads in the 60s
this is my favourite song of all time somehow it spoke to me about my realationship with my wife and my taking her for granted thx so much for posting it
Scott Walker had an amazing voice; The Walker Brothers made beautiful music: I personally think that "The sun ain't gonna shine anymore" is their best song.
Godlike genius..? Definitely. Tortured soul? Most definitely. Scott has made an indelible mark on pop music, and sets the bar for white soul singing. The only act I think Spector really missed out on producing. His loss? Definitely !!!!
@strictlynorton Definately his loss!... You know I can't believe that because of the Righteous Brothers, the Walker Brothers didn't have more popularity in their own country. The had to go over to Great Britain to be part of the British Invasion, to get to the top of the charts. I love the Righteous Brothers, but there was plenty of room for the Walker Brothers, in my opinion!... Scott's voice with John's beautiful harmonies, were next to none.
This one just rips your heart out... "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" holds the number one spot in my heart, but this one's a close second.
How can you sing like this at 22? Scott sings it as if his heart had been broken for life (when didn't he?), and the chorus and musical arrangements are pure gold.
Scott Walker had the most haunting, soulful, tortured voice I've ever heard (and this was only the beginning...)
He's a crystal baritone. It's just plain amazing to hear something so pure. I always think of the Walker Bros songs and play em all the time thanks to You tube.
oooooo, so beautiful. I miss this music nowadays.

I'd die to have his voice. Emotionally draining. One of his best. If you like this, "In My Room" is a must listen.

Guess it depends how your mind works. The sentiments in this song are, actually, far from dick.

I mean 'sick' as a positive term, like "fantastic"
