  • oooooo, so beautiful. I miss this music nowadays.

  • I FIRST HEARD THIS ON JUKEBOX JURY LOVE IT

  • the everly brothers also do a sweet version of his song, it was on YT but it's been yanked :-( it's pretty hard to come by as well, i knew i should have extracted it when it was up.

  • @HuxleyWasRight It's on YT now thanks to themanfromuncle. Yeah I have found similar hassles when i put up EB songs susch as the two RCA early 70's records (the only artists I have to this point).

  • I love the spector-esque production on these early walker brothers songs, they don't make music like this anymore!.

  • LOVE this song, so sad. So well sung, those voices just caress your brain...so smooth. This record was one of about 3 that I could afford to own at that time, I was poor, but I bought this one...

  • RIP JOHN MAUS..............

  • John Walker died Sat. May 7. Part of a special group from the 60's. Sadly missed by us oldies lovers.

  • Thanks for posting, I remember doing slow dance at the end of many a night out to this. They sure made beautiful music, Sadly John died of Cancer yesterday. RIP

  • This brings memories back. I was loved by someone but he never told me. I was sure he just looked at me as a good friend. So very, very long ago, but I still think about him. This is a song that brings it all back. Great music!

  • Ahhh I Love, Love This Share ! Thankyou Gary...Anita..<3

  • Wow, this the Everly Brother's 1963 song .... the Walker Bros. do a great job on it!!!

  • @AGibsonJ A great, powerful version. (The Everlys operate with the power of their harmonies.) Thanks for sharing it!

  • Scott's first time at the head mic.

  • the greatest song ever !

  • I'd die to have his voice. Emotionally draining. One of his best. If you like this, "In My Room" is a must listen.

  • God what a beautiful song. The arrangement is sublime.

  • Haunting vocals, powerful production, good looking guys.........sigh! My absolute fave Walker brothers song.

  • His voice has done more for my mind, body and soul than any medication could!

  • What ever happened to Scott Walker? Is he still alive?

  • @spikeysmum Scott Walker is alive & well. Scott recently collaborated with Bat for Lashes on the latter's song "The Big Sleep" from her 2009 album Two Suns.

  • @spikeysmum he's more prolific and avant-garde these days, which is extremely interesting work. Check out his album "The Drift".... sounds like Tony Bennet on an LSD trip.

  • @spikeysmum a documentary about him was released in 2009(i believe). highly recommended.

  • sounds lkie a Phil Spectre production

  • great cover...everlys b side

  • I love this song - it reminds me of someone i love who has left.........so sad - maybe he will come back soon

  • @trulylovelylady me 2... may b we may be we should drown our sorrows together.

  • Absolutely Fabulous!! Fantasic Vocals, Lyrics, Instrumentals - Everything!!!

  • This is one of the greatest recordings of all time ... after nearly 50 years, it still makes me cry ... Oh ! love her !!

  • I think my fav Walker Bros song would be My Ship Is Coming In but that and The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine are a close run thing.

  • brillant but lets not forget the songwriters BARRY MANN/CYNTHIA GIBB...they are right up there along with GERRY GOFFIN/CAROLE KING..who wrote so many great ballads in the 60s

  • Thanks,I love this one of the greatest ever

  • My favourite Walker Brothers song.

  • I agree,It is just so emotional, fantastic arrangement. ' The Sun ' is also brilliant but I think ' Love Her ' just pips it !.

  • one of my favourite songs ever ,i think i always take people for granted and then iys too late ..xx

  • this is a great version BUT have you heard the everly brothers earlier version ,its just as good

  • this is my favourite song of all time somehow it spoke to me about my realationship with my wife and my taking her for granted thx so much for posting it

  • Scott Walker had an amazing voice; The Walker Brothers made beautiful music: I personally think that "The sun ain't gonna shine anymore" is their best song.

  • Love this song, but my fav Walker Bros song is "After the lights go out". Great band/great sound

  • Godlike genius..? Definitely. Tortured soul? Most definitely. Scott has made an indelible mark on pop music, and sets the bar for white soul singing. The only act I think Spector really missed out on producing. His loss? Definitely !!!!

  • That would have been so sick...

  • Guess it depends how your mind works. The sentiments in this song are, actually, far from dick.

  • I mean 'sick' as a positive term, like "fantastic"

  • @strictlynorton Definately his loss!... You know I can't believe that because of the Righteous Brothers, the Walker Brothers didn't have more popularity in their own country. The had to go over to Great Britain to be part of the British Invasion, to get to the top of the charts. I love the Righteous Brothers, but there was plenty of room for the Walker Brothers, in my opinion!... Scott's voice with John's beautiful harmonies, were next to none.

  • Here all of these years, I thought all of these songs were sung by JAY AND THE AMERICANS. I loved them too and their sound is very similar.

  • Hauntingly beautiful - Thank God for gifting this voice to our world.

  • Such an haunting song that tears at your heart wow

  • This one just rips your heart out... "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" holds the number one spot in my heart, but this one's a close second.

How can you sing like this at 22? Scott sings it as if his heart had been broken for life (when didn't he?), and the chorus and musical arrangements are pure gold.

Scott Walker had the most haunting, soulful, tortured voice I've ever heard (and this was only the beginning...)

  • Fantastic Song!!! 5*s I Love this song Sooooo Much!...Thanks...Anita

  • I JUST LOVE THIS SONG THANKS FOR POSTING thanks gary for sharing i have the album

  • He's a crystal baritone. It's just plain amazing to hear something so pure. I always think of the Walker Bros songs and play em all the time thanks to You tube.

  • Fantastic there isn't another voice like Scotts. Been a fan since the 60's when I saw them live at age 14 Thanks so much.

  • What a great voice!

  • Sigh, swoon, - swept me back to the great 60s. Thanks!!

  • Absolute masterpiece this one, hits all the right spots. Another of my "daily plays". Thanks for putting it on. Hazel x
